KCT took over 4 years dealing with my Uncles estate. The situation was complicated and they dealt with most of it efficiently and speedily paying out an interim payment after around 18 months. They kept to their original quotation in spite of one or two anomalies cropping up. The problem was the house to be sold, KCT use a company called Move With Us to facilitate their house sales. Without going into too much detail I would happily use KCT as an executor again but only if there was not a property involved, Communication with MWU was "difficult" and we even had to find a buyer and introduce them to MWU.
Requiring a special mention at KCT were Liz Fielding who virtually beat MWU into accepting our buyer and pushing the sale through and Chloe Chappell who pushed the case through to its conclusion enabling the final payments to the beneficiaries.

I spoke to James for advice and guidance at a really difficult time and he was patience whilst putting things into simple words for me to understand. He explained things in such a way that I was completely reassured that I was doing the right thing. Would not hesitate to contact him again should the need arise.

Hussain was very helpful during the probate application. He was very polite and took tome to explain every thing. Excellent 10/10

Navigating HMRC and Probate is a time consuming and somewhat complex process, so I would highly recommend outsourcing the legwork.

The death of a loved one is traumatic enough without having to undertake the significant paperwork requirements dealing with HMRC and the Courts. Kings Court Trust do need you to complete quite a lot of information through an online portal, so a little IT experience is helpful, however once this is completed, you are then able to deal with the team directly.

Unlike many solicitors Kings Court Trust provide a fixed fee solution which was is a far fairer and effective way to charge, than a percentage of the estate value basis, favoured by many solicitors and often far more expensive.

I was a little dubious to start with, as it all seemed too good to be true, but as the days and weeks went past, this potentially scary time was handled in an extremely professional and sensitive manner.

Hannah Pick my personal estate consultant did a great job of managing my expectations in terms of timescales, communicating quickly and without fuss and ultimately expediting the entire process in a very speedy and proficient way. Thankyou Hannah, you were a pleasure to deal with.

5 Stars is the only score that I could really give. I was a little perturbed by the few 1 Star reviews that I read on Trustpilot, but on reflection feel that these are possibly from individuals not accustomed to the commercial world, as in my experience, I couldn’t have asked for more.

From the moment Kings Court Trust got involved with our probate case I felt confident that they would be efficient and professional.
Our case manager Wayne was especially helpful and went out of his way to help us to get the probate grant that we needed to deal with our late Mother’s estate.

Kings Court Trust handled what was a complex and substantial inheritance in a very methodical and professional manner, and I would recommend them overall. Emails queries were always answered reasonably promptly and thoroughly, they were significantly more cost-effective and less pushy in securing business compared to alternatives such as the Co-op. They even sent a representative to gather initial information and provide a clear assessment of charges. The case officer was excellent—professional, knowledgeable, and helpful—though at times it felt she was constrained by company protocols.
The probate process lasted around two years, during which we were kept regularly updated. However, there are a few points worth noting for anyone considering their services:
They do not pay interest on your funds they hold, so it is worth negotiating this upfront if large sums are involved.
Distribution of funds is entirely at their discretion. In our case, significant amounts—hundreds of thousands—remained undistributed for months, resulting in a loss of potential interest. Requests for lump sum distributions (over £50k) were declined, with reasons consistently given but no flexibility shown.
Telephone communication was very poor and appeared to be discouraged. I was never able to speak directly with my case officer, as they were always unavailable. Callbacks were promised within 48 hours but were not always received. I did raise concerns about this.
The four-day working week was occasionally inconvenient.
Additional work is charged at a minimum of £500 + VAT, even for relatively straightforward tasks such as a deed of variation.
There were repeated requests for identification, which felt excessive.
At times, there appeared to be a lack of communication between departments, which led to some confusion in pricing and the need to repeat information.
None of these issues materially affected the progress of the probate itself—these processes naturally take time—but they did detract from the overall experience and gave a sense of limited personal engagement. Of course, I have no direct comparison with other providers, but overall I am very happy with the service provided.

Kings Court Trust have made obtaining Grant of Probate a straightforward and clear process and were always willing to patiently answer questions from all parties concerned. They were fully aware of the details of our case, kept us informed as to the best person to contact at any stage, and gave us updates on a monthly schedule. The individuals supporting us were clearly experienced and knowledgeable.

The staff were always friendly, professional and helpful. Special thanks to Sophia for being the calm voice on the phone and the regular email updates. Although my brothers estate took a long time, this was due to outside agencies. Sophia was dogged in her attempts to get things resolved. Thank you.

Conor has been most helpful and the sorting of a the details of my sisters estate who died intestate has been a relatively trouble free process. From initial contact to the closure has been a weight off my mind and glad I did not have to do this unaided.

I cannot commend Kings court trust highly enough. I was named as executor for my father in laws estate, but had little or no experience in the role.

Ifzal Hussain was a great help though the process of my late Fathers probate and land register transfer. He went above and beyond with communication and advise and I will be using him again when the time comes.
