The team and tutors at Kip McGrath Milngavie were incredibly supportive throughout our experience. Our daughter gained so much from her sessions, and we could clearly see her confidence improve over time. We were thrilled that her school reports also showed the strong progress we had noticed ourselves.

Asking my daughter what she wants to focus on. Multiple students online allowing my daughter time to work out answers - she feels less pressure with this approach and therefore learns more effectively. Flexibility of the support team if sessions need to be rearranged. Providing an environment where no question is considered 'stupid'. The tuition provided has given my daughter the confidence that she can obtain the grade she wants in A level Maths and Further Maths. Thank you so much for providing an excellent service.

Very disappointing experience.

My daughter’s assessment was cancelled just 30 minutes before the appointment — while we were already in Epsom and waiting. While I understand that illness happens, the timing and handling of this were poor.

After receiving the message, I called to see if anything could be done or if another tutor might be available. Unfortunately, I was met with a dismissive and unhelpful tone. I was simply told that the assessor was going home unwell after their current session and that it was “one of those things” and out of their control.

What was most frustrating was the complete lack of effort to find a solution or show any empathy for the inconvenience caused — especially given how last-minute the cancellation was.

I had also put a lot of effort into encouraging my child to attend, so this completely undermined that.

If this is how parents are spoken to during an initial interaction when trying to impress, it does raise concerns about how students are treated. This was not the warm, supportive environment I had expected.

Overall, a very poor first impression.

My daughter failed her Maths GCSE badly and on starting college had to sit Maths Functional Skills. I had used Kip McGrath once before when she started in year 7, and found them to be extremely beneficial. So, I went back to them, and her tutor Michael, has been absolutely brilliant - he has helped her to build not only her confidence, but also her skills. She progressed quickly through all the levels and finally passed her Level 1 with flying colours! This may seem trivial to some people, but for my daughter who has struggled with her maths all through her school life, achieving this has given her so much confidence that she actually looks forward to her lessons at college and with Michael! This has never happened before, and she is now looking forward to taking her Maths GCSE next year, alongside her A Levels. We will be restarting her online tutoring again in September, hopefully with Michael, as he now understands the way her brain works….lol!! Can’t fault the service and would highly recommend!

The staff at Kip McGrath Milngavie were very helpful & professional and Katie always responded promptly to any queries I had via email. My daughter Jaimie looks forward to her sessions and always leaves feeling more positive about her ability in Maths-which isn’t the case at school unfortunately. Jaimie always speaks highly of her tutor Jing and finds her very helpful and reassuring. I am more hopeful that Jaimie will achieve a better result in her Nat 5 exam than she did in her Prelim and won’t hesitate to use Kip McGrath tutoring again in the future. Would definitely recommend!

Sitting children with SEN needs in front of a computer is not supportive of their needs at all. Despite speaking to two tutors (with SENCO experience) about my concerns and child’s difficulties, both failed to recognise any SEND needs. My child could not access any part of the home learning independently. My child has since had 3 diagnosis. I feel Kip McGrath tutors failed to notice difficulties or put any differentiated learning into practice

Our experience with the Welling branch of Kip McGrath left our family disappointed and frustrated. The focus seemed to be more on payment than on my son’s learning or progress.

My son was initially enrolled in group classes to prepare for the 11+ exam. Although we received positive feedback, we saw little meaningful progress at home. We then moved to the more expensive one-to-one online tuition, expecting more focused support. However, this did not reflect our experience. With either me or my husband present during lessons, it was clear that the sessions were not genuinely one-to-one. My son was often left working independently, with limited tutor interaction, and the tutor’s attention did not appear to be solely on him.

I decided to stop the tuition due to my financial situation after being informed that my job was at risk of redundancy. I explained this and requested to end the lessons, also raising concerns about the quality of the service. These concerns were not addressed, and the response felt dismissive.

I was told that a two-week notice period applied and that payment was required for two additional lessons, despite my concerns and decision to stop. The tone of the correspondence that followed was aggressive and unprofessional, focused on debt collection rather than my child’s learning. References to potential credit score consequences felt particularly inappropriate and intimidating in the circumstances.

Overall, this experience gave the impression that concerns about the quality of tuition were not taken seriously once payment was in question. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this branch to parents seeking genuinely individual, child-focused support.

My daughter has had a very positive expereince at Kip over 18months to improve her Maths. The tutors atake time and explain things well. The Homework is a good way of working on examples. Thanks to all the tutors.

My Grandson has dyslexia, he has been attending Kip in Dunfermline for quite a few years now & has come on leaps & bounds. He has so much confidence now when doing his school work. He enjoys going to his sessions every week. Lucy the manager & the tutors are all great. Nothing is too much bother if we need to change or rearrange our session. Thank you Lucy & your Team.

We had really bad experience. We joined Kip Mcgrath since the beginning of September till mid December. Last day of my son's session my son didn't have a great day in school and hes been a bit upset, we went to Kip Mcgrath and he refused to pay attention, we decided to go home without waiting till our session is finished. We been told to come back after Xmas holidays. When the time came to come back we received a phone call from the head office which we been told not to come back because they called my son aggressive that's nonsense!!! PEOPLE IF
YOUR CHILD DIDN'T FIT IN THE BOX THIS PLACE ISN'T FOR YOU. ALL KIDS ARE DIFFERENT AND THEY DONT HAVE TO RIGHTS TO SEGRADAT KIDS BY ANY REASON. ITS FEELS LIKE DISCRIMINATION. PLEASE STAND UP FOR YOUR CHILD. SHAME ON THEM!

They can go through homework questions and things you don’t understand, they help you with exams and assignments.

Very helpful and kind staff at the leamington location. Helped my grades go up in maths by a lot since i actually had fun doing the tasks and they were set for my specific needs. i would recommend

Kip has been invaluable to our daughter in so many ways. She started in September last year and has been taught by both Emma and then Rachel at Dunfermline, who are both excellent. She has gone from strength to strength with her reading, writing, grammar and comprehension. The difference in just over a year has been incredible. As a parent I’ve also found it extremely helpful in understanding tips and tricks to help her further, I think the importance of a silent E will never leave me - mind blown moment! Both the teachers and Lucy the manager are super friendly, approachable and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble and they have made our daughter feel comfortable and welcome and helped instilled a confidence in her that had been lacking in regard to her learning. We plan to continue Kip for a long time and cannot recommend it enough.

My son has only recently started at Kip McGrath. I have already seen a big change in his approach and confidence in the subject. The difference a good teacher can make in a pupil is huge and Norman has been fantastic!

They are very supportive and have made me improve and made my work at school a lot easier. It encourages me to do the best I can in my work as they give you rewards. Steve is helping me improve on a lot of things and is a real inspiration.

My son attended Kip McGrath Hemel Hempstead for several years, primarily for English tuition and later for Maths in Year 11. Throughout this period, I was consistently informed that he had strong potential and was making progress. However, this was not reflected in his school performance or examination results. Unfortunately, he ultimately failed his English Language GCSE exam despite the significant time and investment in tutoring.

While the staff were always polite and encouraging, I did not see the expected improvement in academic outcomes. Based on our experience, I would advise other parents to closely monitor their child’s progress and reassess the effectiveness of the tuition if clear results are not evident after the first year.

My son did amazingly well on his entry exam for grammer school. Thankyou to all staff in keighley branch for helping my son with his revision for his 11+ test and supporting him in overcoming his anxiety by doing alot of practice papers in the centre.
His teachers even noticed how well he is doing at school aswel as he confidence which was very low beginning of year5.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with Hannah and the team at Kip McGraph for the past few months and the impact they’ve had on my son’s education has been nothing short of incredible. From the very first session, it was clear that the team genuinely care about their students’ progress and confidence.
In both Maths and English, Hannah and the team has a fantastic way of breaking down complex topics into manageable, understandable parts.
What really stands out is their patience, encouragement, and ability to adapt lessons to suit my son’s learning style. They’ve not only helped him improve academically but also helped him develop a more positive attitude toward learning overall.
