So, straight up... a pretty basic visit to the store. I easily found what I was looking for on their online catalogue, after much research on the product. I called to confirm if it was in store, which it was. I went in (lots of parking), I strolled on down to the power tools section and the first person I saw actually went up to the warehouse and retrieved it for me. She asked me if I wanted to open the box there to check it out but I declined. The box was obviously unopened.
It's exactly what the online catalogue displayed and described. It was the lowest price of all the big box stores. Pleasant, helpful staff. Yeah, five stars up to this point.

Electrical apprenticeship in process, started with almost nothing for power or hand tools. About a year in now and have dealt with KMS by recommendation from colleagues on what to buy and taken advantage of several of the specials and clearances offered; so happy with everything KMS has provided as well as how they have supported with advice as well as when a Milwaukee battery failed under warranty. Zero problems, zero issues, prompt, friendly and accurate responses when purchasing online regarding ETA's and partial shipments, smiles for miles. A Big Orange competitor on the other hand couldn't organize a parade to an outhouse or coordinate cleanup in my recent tragic experience as the 'hands' weren't attached to the same brain; or even understand why underwear don't go on top of pants or head, despite the hours I spent on phone trying to explain. KMS is my go-to for tools and accessories.

Kamloops store is worst store for poor service the two young ones at the front counter very unprofessional argued when I returned something had the receipt didn’t even really look at the receipt just went into my account for being a paying customer. I should not have to argue with young kids at the front desk. I would rather drive to Vernon KMS instead of dealing with the ones In Kamloops

Always great experience when I go to KMS in Calgary. On my latest visit the staff was very helpful in finding a particular saw rather than just telling me the aisle, which is what I had asked. The check out staff helped me fumble through an electronic gift certificate I had received for Christmas. This was just my latest visit I always find the staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

I had a hard time finding the tools here in Saskatchewan with a scope of choice. At KMS I had all the options I could dream of to choose from, good photo's on the website and it was delivered so fast and efficient.
I am so happy we have resources inside Canada that is available to us.

On Friday, January 16, 2026, around 9:00 a.m., I visited the KMS Tools store in west Edmonton(New Opening). While purchasing several tools, I asked at checkout about a product I had bought from this store about two months ago that has an issue. I wanted to know whether an exchange or a paid upgrade would be possible.
The staff member responded by saying, "Unfortunately, the person who handles customer service is not here today.” That was the only explanation I was given.
I work in the trades and regularly purchase tools from KMS Tools. This was actually the first time I have ever asked about a defective product, so this response was quite surprising.
There are two reasons this experience was disappointing.
First, the customer service system itself. It appears that whether a customer can receive service depends entirely on whether a specific person happens to be working that day. If that person is not present, customer service simply is not available. Since I have only ever made purchases here before, I was not aware of this type of system, but after experiencing it, I felt it was worth sharing.
Second, the way the situation was handled at checkout. I was only told that the customer service person was not available “today.” No additional information was offered—such as when I could return, what time would be appropriate, or which day I could speak with the right person. Being told only that it could not be done, without any guidance, was disappointing from a customer service standpoint.
Overall, I am sharing this experience to highlight that customer service at KMS Tools unfortunately appears to depend on luck—if the right person is available, you receive support; if not, customer service is simply unavailable.
