If it worked as it should, it would be brilliant. But I'm afraid it doesn't.

Issues:

1. Very, very unreliable at receiving user responses to prompts given by AI. Very frustrating.

2. Mis-hears user responses in target language time and again.

3. Occasionally, but not too often, mispronounces words.

I think these bugs aren't acceptable in an app that costs £200 per year. I'm on a trial but won't be going forward.

I joined the site with great enthusiasm and even took a 1 year membership on the advertised assurance that one can cancel the membership any time they wish. While the app initially seemed promising, it soon became difficult to have a meaningful conversation. However, on trying to cancel the subscription and have a refund, it appears that it is only the subscription renewal that can be cancelled! The app was certainly not upfront about this and were obviously economical with the truth. If Langua persons are reading this, they need to respond or inform how one gets a refund.

I love this app and platform. It's like having a real conversation with a native speaker language coach. I get corrections and explanations, prompts to repeat phrases correctly, and have genuinely engaging chats. My Spanish has improved so much in a short time. Every once in a while, there is a tech glitch, but it really seems like the Langua team is on top of it and always working on improving the experience. Highly recommend!

LANGUATALK provides me the perfect advanced learning experience with Spanish, offering exactly the vocabulary and grammar lessons I want and the chance to have a natural and thorough conversational experience. I couldn’t ask for more…and especially at that price!

I've tested all the major apps and more that you can find in the market to learn and practice languages. I really wanted to make significant progress quickly.
I know it's based on personal preferences and we're all different people and it's cool. But when you stay objective and compare the features Langua offers, Langua is far beyond all other apps.
what I like:
*You can choose and switch the dialects (for me American, Australian, British English, or Mexican Spanish...)
*You have different modes, AI models
*Auto correction and repeat which is very immersive and help you learn faster.
*You can enable memory and edit your interests, facts about you... so the AI will recognize certains facts what makes the conversations more natural.
*Flashcards, where you can add words from a conversation or manually...this mode is deep and offers many ways to practice vocabulary.
*The call mode is one of the best feature, I use this mode to have conversation in my car, on a stroll...it's like having a conversation on a phone.
*You can end conversations and get a real detailed feedback, and also in your history, open an continue an old conversation. Awesome!
*You have casual chats, role plays, debates, practice vocab and games, grammar or even the possibility to design your own chat.
*On the website, when logged you have access to podcasts, videos... with transcriptions and when you highlight a word or a phase it goes directly in your vocabulary list to practice with the app.
Even though I encountered a few bugs and of course there's room for improvement, It still worth every penny.
Honestly if you're willing to learn a language, I can recommend enough to use and abuse Langua, you'll see you progress skyrocket.

Tried the trial for Polish and not really a fan. I mean, it's obvious a lot of effort has gone into it and it certainly is what it says it is. But for me, the conversations aren't really realistic because they're stilted. The AI person says something, then explains it and then you have to try and repeat it while looking at the screen. Half the time it doesn't quite hear you properly or you get it wrong and even if you do get through some of the conversation, you then find yourself having to scroll back up when it asks you to say something you learned earlier but because the conversation is so stilted, you've long since forgotten. Also, the level it moves along at is waayyyyy too fast. My Polish wife was sat next to me and said "this is far too advanced for a beginner. Also, you will forget everything she says because you won't hear it often enough for it to stick", and I have to agree with her. Learning by real conversations is definitely the best way, but only by immersion so that you have context to what you hear and the regularity of hearing it. Like how a child learns to speak. I just don't think this works.

I think languatalk is one of the most customer oriented companies out there. I had some problems with their AI and they responded to my email immediately and explained some options I could do to improve the service. So many companies totally forget you exist once they have your money. Languatalk is just the opposite of this!

Fantastisk verktyg, använder det dagligen. Inte bara språkutvecklande, utan intressanta diskussioner om allt från träningsmetodik, filosofi, litteratur, politik mm. Mina varmaste rekommendationer!

If you don't try it, you'll never know. If you want to be able to speak another language try it. You be the judge.

I am really enjoying this app! The AI interface is so realistic and helpful, its like talking with a friend. I really enjoy the ability to speak freely in French, which I learned so long ago, but never get to speak. I love the corrections and opportunity to repeat phrases and create a vocab list. I like that I am not pestered with threatening animated characters if I miss or am late. Its all up to me! That said, since I seem to be pretty busy, I wouldn't mind if there was a text reminder I could set...sometimes the day gets too busy and I forget. Thanks for creating something so useful!

Just started to learn Japanese. New alphabet, new language…I spent my trial week to get acquainted with the course as I want to read, write and speak Japanese.
It was very easy to communicate with the team and I always received an explanatory mail within 24hrs. Guidance and service were excellent. I gained a lot by reading the guidelines to enable me to make the most of the lessons and enjoy the course. I love it.

Spent 3 years using “learning Spanish”on different computer based programme and making some progress but got bored with the repetitiveness.
Joined Langua after a prompt from Paul Q and my spoken Spanish has rocketed plus I look forward to my daily chat.

I have made more improvement using Languatalk than with any other app available. I've used it for many months now. It is always there and ready--whenever I have a moment to talk. I am able to look back at my comments to see the corrections (good for further learning) and I can always have a conversation in depth about anything. My only wish is that, like some AI programs, it could "remember" things we have discussed in the past. As it is now, I cannot refer to a past conversation--it is necessary to rebuild everything from scratch, which takes a lot of time and keeps me from trying out new ideas to expand on old ones. Otherwise, for a machine, this is pretty darn good! It's sad to say this, but in some respects, this robot is almost as good as (better in some respects) as having a human teacher, because I can make mistakes with no fear that it will grow weary of hearing them, and it is very patient. It is instantly available--I don't have to wait for an appointment time. Humans are still irreplaceable, but I believe AI is here to stay in this field--and this is the best available.

I have had the best conversation in Spanish with Langua. This is my first week and I still have to test all modes. Being able to print the transcript of the conversation, studying the suggested corrections and better way of saying things at the end makes it a fantastic teacher buddy.
I asked Alloy, my teacher, to review a book with me and we had a very deep discussion on philosophy. Again, being able to read our interactive talk on transcript and its corrections later was invaluable.

When I first came across this app I was pleasantly surprised by its very usable AI conversational ability. It worked well and it became part of my language learning.

A few months later and I now find it absolutely stunning as a result of a couple of new needs I had.

1. I am learning Spanish using the 'comprehensible input' methodology as espoused by Dreaming Spanish amongst others. As part of that I have reached the stage of immersion where I need to be engaged in conversation with a Spanish speaker where they speak Spanish and I reply in English (called cross talk). With no effort at all, Langua was happy to assist!

2. I recently had to deliver my first business presentation speech in Spanish. I asked Langua to assist (assuming that it couldn't possibly work) and it utterly surprised me. It went through the speech with me, speaking a sentence at a time then listening to my replies and providing detailed comments on my pronunciation. Maybe not quite as good as an attentive human being for sure but incredibly usable and much more patient!

I'm certain the app will support my language learning for many years to come!

P.S. I have tried many many language apps and settled on one or two that genuinely impact my learning. Langua is one of them

Absolute game changer!!! I have been conversing in French with Gaelle, my AI companion, and it is absolutely amazing. She adjusts completely to whatever I say, it is just like talking to someone in person. But what makes it even more fabulous is that there are so many options for checking on the accuracy of what I am saying, getting her to repeat what she says, interpreting what she says when I don't understand, learning new words and phrases. Oh the list of great things about this app go on and on. I cannot speak highly enough about Langua Talk, absolutely love it!!

The ultimate language learning app. Every time I log in, there is some useful new feature that I hadn't even thought about but which brings new value to the app. The developers listen closely to the community and keep adding the most popular suggestions.

Due to its focus on speaking, it's probably not for the very beginner learner, but we already have Duolingo for that. As soon as you have a solid speaking foundation, there's honestly nothing better out there, and I've looked at many of the alternatives.

Worth every penny.

Just wanted to say I really enjoy the Langua app and it's a massive step up from duolingo!
