I did notice a pretty substantial increase in cost on month health cover, not good to see but I know everything is going up. However I wanted to review my plan and spoke to Mike in there customer service team, he was absolutely brilliant! Talked me through my level of cover and what he felt I needed or didn’t need. He had an exceptional manner on the phone, the American accent helped!

Loss of cover without being informed
At renewal every year I ask not to lose any cover and when lodged a claim for a scan that I get every year same hospital they said they don't cover that hospital anymore.also the primary care clinic in cherrywood you never had to pay and now you do. I'm leaving at renewal after 12 years not good enough
Thanks to Agnes/Laya. Date below is appox
I dealt with Agnes who was helpful, articulate and explained the best options for me and when adjustments were made to the plan - my premium is reduced.
Thanks to Agnes..

Impossible to get through to
Impossible to get through to. Rang them last week and was forced to email. That was a week ago. Now just got a phone call from them - which last abouted 2 seconds so I didn't have time to pick up.
Very disappointing experience with Laya…
Very disappointing experience with Laya Healthcare. My policy was automatically renewed and a large premium was deducted from my bank account without my explicit consent. The company relied on automated emails and voicemail attempts as evidence of communication, despite the fact that no renewal agreement was made. The issue has had to be escalated to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman. I would advise customers to be very careful with automatic renewals.
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. Honestly they don’t even deserve 1…
Honestly they don’t even deserve 1 star. The worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor in my life. She was so rude to me, was very condescending, clearly didn’t want to be there, spoke down to me the whole time & made me feel so uncomfortable. I ended up refusing to be treated by her due to her attitude & they still charged me a €190 for a GP consultation. Then when I sent an email to complain about the way I was spoken to by the doctor, all they had to say was they were sorry I didn’t have a nice experience.I literally left in tears. Avoid at all costs. All they want is your money, they don’t care about anything else
The app won't let me register
The app won't let me register. I wait 25 minutes to speak to an agent who is full of ideas but never comes back. I'm on my third round of this treatment.
Laya just changed their Terms and…
Laya just changed their Terms and Conditions in secret without customers accepting it and without notifying customers in any way, which is illegal.
This terms and conditions link from android APP from booking process doesn't provide any info on the charge /pages/laya/laya_terms_and_conditions
During booking process never once you mention any cancelation fees
Moreover not at any point you sent any email about cancellation fee. Which normal company who actually cares about customers would never do.
Some hidden page on your website which for whatever reason was updated without notice does mention fee
While before this fee was claimaBLE now you changhed terms AND MADE IT UNCLAIMABLE
WELL DONE LAYA
All for money nothing for customers
Awful company
Awful company. No reward for years (nearly 20) loyalty. Just money grabbing whilst reaping benefits.
Avoid at all costs.
Shameful behaviour.
Unable to get refund for my premium
Unable to get refund for my premium. Changed our policy 16th Dec as it had risen by more than €1k each year for the past three years. Explained to us on the phone at that time that the New Year payments had already been sent to the Bank for processing, but that we'd get immediate refund. Payment debited 9th Jan.
Rang last week (14th) to be told refund would be applied Fri (16th). After no sign, rang yesterday to be told authorisation happened Mon (19th) and payment went for immediate processing. Now Wed (21st) and no sign of it.
Someone is telling lies! Can you really trust a company that doesn't do immediate refunds?
Customer friendly company
I have generally found Laya to be good at customer service and reasonably prompt payers for claims.
They are not perfect, but significantly better than their competitors in the marketplace.
The plan I am on is reasonable value for money.
They answer the phone within a reasonable time period of dialling their number, and the staff are very helpful and obliging. And their APP works.
Beware people suffering with PBC disease
Absolute shame on Laya for being the only healthcare provider not covering Fibroscan for their customers suffering with PBC disease. Price of their premiums paid to not cover a scan for people suffering with a chronic illness it just not justifiable. Shame on you Laya

I went to Little Island Clinic today having a a scan of Achillies Tendon in Late November. My GP felt I might need to have my foot immobilised...I handed my GP letter to receptionist who showed it to somebody and returned and told me "Go to CUH outpatients....I never got past reception....I at least thought a doctor might see me...I am a member of Laya for many years...I did not expect this treatment....very poor!!

Impossible to get a real person on the phone and I emailed several times for a copy of my ultrasound which I didn't recoeve
Lost out on thousands of euro in…
Lost out on thousands of euro in expenses I couldn't claim back because the outpatient limit was per family not per individual and this was not explained to me at all despite detailed conversations with customer service. Also they determine how much a practitioner "should" charge and only pay you back based on that! Avoid.
Read the small print before signing up
Read your health care plan through before committing.
It gives the impression everything is covered.
Sounds Great.
Online consultations.
Clinic Attendance.
Physiotherapy ect.
But realistically everything is thrown in the one pot.
Two years in a row I've found that I'm not covered for day to day expenses the last few months of the year .
As people have mentioned really hard to get through to talk to anyone.
Phone time wasters
OMG.
How they like to waste your time on the phone. repeating themselves over and over just so to get you to hang up.
Also the corporate offers are only half as good as other companies.
