Clunky software and terrible customer support
Clunky software with endless glitches, poor customer service, and ever increasing price hikes for yearly subscriptions, I can categorically say they are not worth the investment any more. Our firm has been with LEAP for 10 years now and we have tried to keep a positive outlook. However, we will now be migrating to another provider after being disappointed one two many times. Avoid at all costs!
Do not recommend
After years of steadily increasing fees with LEAP, we were shocked to discover that we could not access our own data after choosing not to renew our license. According to LEAP, they hold your data for seven years, however, if you do not have an active contract, you lose access, and it becomes your responsibility to extract all your data yourself while still paying for the single user - £378+VAT per month in October 2025.
This means that thousands of pages of data and files must be manually exported by someone in your firm — a process that takes weeks of full-time work, and for larger firms, even longer.
Our initial decision to leave LEAP stemmed from issues with their accountancy software, which was rounding up figures!! Over time, the quality of service continued to decline, with slow or non-existent support. It is worth noting that their sales team is excellent—communication is always fast and pleasant when they are trying to sell something—but unfortunately, this does not translate to customer service or support once you are paying the full fees.
Overall, we were extremely disappointed by LEAP’s handling of customer data and support, and we cannot recommend their service.
Told I cant terminate
I gave my termination notice well within the first 6-months. They now say I owe them £12k to terminate (for just 2x users!). I was clearly told I could terminate in the first 6 months, but nobody aknowledged the notice or got back to me for 2 months. It was so buggy and unreliable. Im now seeing complaints across the pond using terms like scam and forming a class action against them. The experience is unusual, not to care about a client wanting to terminate, ignoring them, then sending them a bill equal to 3 years subscription for terminating! It's starting to feel like a scam.
Awful
As Leap user, I can only agree with the other negative reviews, - I mean there are no positive reviews in any event! Leap is slow, cumbersome, expensive and ful of bugs. We have 3 users in this office and there are issues on a daily basis. Getting help is essentially impossible. As another user posted, avoid like the plague - and this really is no exaggeration.
Extremely Disappointed and Frustrated
I’ve had a profoundly negative experience with LEAP Legal Software over the past few months. Despite countless attempts to access our own data—data we absolutely own—LEAP has failed to respond or provide any tangible assistance. This ongoing delay, now exceeding three months, has severely disrupted my business operations, preventing me from effectively serving my clients. Their customer service has been virtually non-existent, and repeated requests for help have gone unanswered.
The time and money spent trying to resolve these issues have been frustrating and costly. I cannot recommend LEAP Legal Software to anyone seeking a reliable, responsive, and ethically accountable legal technology provider.
Avoid like the plague
This software is trash. We signed up four months ago. It is slow, buggy, and very difficult to use. Stay away.
Avoid at all COSTS!
There are a number of problems with Leap.
Let's start at the end. If you want to leave at the end of your contract, they make it extremely difficult for you to get your documents back- maybe even impossible.
They have complete autonomy to raise their prices (and they do) to whatever they like- you could say they are just waiting for the opportunity to do so.
They may entice you with an introductory offer and then hit you with a massive price hike on the "autorenewal" of your contract. Bear in mind, you can't get your documents/ files back so you can't leave!
As for the software itself, it's clunky, takes time to load/ integrate and really doesn't work any better than the Microsoft Office documents by themselves.
Save your money and your law firm and stay away from these guys.
LEAP has a major problem
LEAP has always worked so well...BUT what has gone wrong with the new update? I know I am not alone...it is not working. We cannot even do the basics like create and save a new matter and ufn. It will not produce a file list! Called for assistance from LEAP yesterday and rude young lady tells us to ask the other LEAP users community for a solution! NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Meanwhile CEO has a page spread in the Law Soc Gazette telling us how wonderful they are...you were very good but things are seriously going wrong since last months enforced update. Have you been hacked LEAP, and trying to keep it to yourself?
