We’re sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience.
The job was scheduled for the morning; however, the engineer was unexpectedly delayed and unable to reach the property within the original time slot. Our team remained in communication with you and advised that the inspection could still be carried out in the afternoon, the same day.
As this was not convenient, the refund was processed and completed prior to this review being posted. Throughout the process, our enquiries team kept you updated and remained in contact regarding both rescheduling and the refund.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. Delays can occasionally occur due to unforeseen circumstances, but we always aim to communicate clearly and either offer an alternative appointment or issue a prompt refund, as in this case.

We’re sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the service. We would like to clarify the situation.
You booked two jobs with us, both of which were carried out on the scheduled dates, and the certificates were issued to you promptly after completion.
Regarding the certificate for Flat 7, the report clearly stated an Overall Assessment: Unsatisfactory due to abnormal test results identified during inspection. Specifically, very high external earth fault loop impedance (Ze) readings were recorded. These values were outside expected parameters and could prevent automatic disconnection of supply under fault conditions, which presents a potential safety risk.
For this reason, the report included a clear observation and recommendation for further investigation. This is standard practice when readings indicate a potential issue with the earthing arrangement, supply, or connections. The recommendation outlined checks to the main earthing conductor, verification of the earthing arrangement, inspection of connections at the origin, and potential involvement of the Distribution Network Operator if the issue related to the supply.
Further investigation was necessary to trace the cause of the high readings, which may involve testing circuits and earthing continuity across the installation. Without completing this additional testing, a satisfactory certificate cannot be issued in line with BS 7671 requirements.
You also requested a quotation for the additional investigation in April, following the inspection carried out in February. The quoted cost related to the extra time and testing required beyond the scope of the original EICR.
Additionally, our Head Assessor discussed the report with you on a call and explained in detail why the installation was marked as unsatisfactory and why further investigation was required.
We stand by the accuracy of the report, which was based on the measured test results at the time of inspection and prepared in accordance with current regulations. That said, we always aim to be transparent and helpful, and we remain happy to review any documentation you may have or discuss the findings further if needed.
