Misleading & Deceptive
Magic Pitch advertises a trial with “Full access to the real product”. That was false. After signing up, I discovered journalists were locked behind the paid plan (I wanted to test podcast + journalist outreach), despite the website explicitly claiming otherwise. I have screenshots to prove this. Team also confirmed this misalignment in an email.
It then got worse.
After I had already set up a campaign, the platform suddenly blocked access behind a forced (2nd) setup flow 3 days later. The UI asked me to “Paste the LinkedIn for the person we should build around”. Having already configured my own profile, I naturally took this to mean an example target LinkedIn profile for the system to learn, so I input a journalist's LinkedIn URL. The system then auto-created a new campaign and started sending emails FROM MY GMAIL inbox pretending to be that journlist, signing emails off as them instead of me. I had to manually send follow up emails apologising on behalf of the AI that sent the false emails.
I had to stop campaigns, revoke the platform's Gmail access, and send apology emails explaining the AI had falsely sent emails under another person’s identity.
To top it off, cancellation requires either a video call or manually emailing support instead of a normal one-click cancellation, which I'm still waiting for.
I have screenshots and email evidence proving everything. All quotes above are copied and pasted directly from the platform.
Misleading and deceptive onboarding, risky behaviour, and unnecessary friction. Avoid.
Their website states 13k+ reviews, but they could be fake too for all we know.
