Had a nice experience. Friendly staff. Eye tests wete thorough and did not feel rushed.

Julie and the team at Stevenage Opticians were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. I was seen at very short notice, which I really appreciated, and the whole experience felt calm, welcoming and genuinely caring.

Julie was incredibly personable and took the time to listen properly, making me feel at ease straight away. Everything was explained in a clear, thoughtful way, especially around why I needed glasses and exactly what they would help with. It never felt rushed or technical in a confusing way — just really easy to understand and reassuring.

The whole team were friendly, supportive and professional throughout. I left feeling genuinely well looked after and confident in the care I’d received.

First class professional and friendly service from Samir and Jackolyn in the Canterbury store. I learnt a lot about my eye condition and bought a fine pair of prescription glasses which seem to me good value for money.

I bought two pairs of glasses from M&S in September 2024.
In February 2026, one of the lenses spontaneously fell out of the glasses with no warning. The screw didn't even feel loose after it fell out.
I went into my local store in Torquay, thinking that the glasses were over two years old and asked them if they could repair them.
They replaced the screw, explaining that it was at fault.
Recently (April 2026) I realised that they were less than two years old, so went back to see them, asking if they were prepared to cover the cost of replacing the lens - it chipped quite substantially when it fell.
In the store, they said that they would need to talk to the lab, who made up the glasses.
Today they came back to me (within a working day, so I've increased my review slightly for that responsiveness ).
However, they told me that they were not able to replace the lens as it was more than a year old.
They then continued telling me that I would have to pay the full price of a new lens and a fitting fee, putting the total cost up to the same amount as a second pair would cost if I bought two from them.

So, if you buy glasses from M&S, they are only guaranteed for a year, although they, and everyone else, will advise you to come for a next test after two years. Please take that into account when buying glasses from them. It's still cheaper to replace them at your own expense than to take out the insurance though, assuming that things like this only happen to you as often as to me (second time in 60 years of wearing them).

Sadly, my favorite store for other things has let me down here.

Can’t remember the date but ‘Ali’ adjusted my husband’s glasses frame.
She was so professional and friendly and went over and above. Not only did she rectify the problem… she tightened and cleaned the lenses.
She is a credit to M and S Opticians.

Great optometrists, dreadful intrusive sales staff. They impose improper charges and require signature of a damage waiver if you do not purchase your frames in store. I raised a complaint but they just fobbed me off with daft nonsense. The CMA should investigate the whole sector as it is ripping off consumers.

Brilliant service all round as always. Emma & Sarah at M&S Banbury were amazing and very professional & helpful. Picked out a pair of bi vocals and a quality pair of sunglasses at a great price too.

Overall experience for my eye test and fitting very good, By Alex, Rowan, Hammad and Jackuelyn. From the moment I arrived I could see that the Canterbury Branch was run in a professional and calm manner, this was reflected in test & the fittings. The experience in collecting my new glasses was the same, so much so that I ordered a second pair of sun glasses at Half Price which was a bonus. I would recommend this branch to anyone.

Second time I have used M&S Opticians at Castlepointin Bournemouth . Went just as well as the first time. All the staff were friendly and professional which made the whole experience much more relaxing and stress free.
When it came to choosing frames found Albi particularly helpful as I was shown a wide choice of frames in different price ranges and didn't feel pressured into buying more expensive frames than I wanted. Ì felt I received good considered advice for each choice I considered. Glasses also arrived much quicker than expected so very happy overall and would recommend.

Felt like a valued customer and a premium experience up to collection. Unfortunately the fit still isn't right after 2 further visits.i was considering a pair of sunglasses but after 5 weeks,stock still isn't available to try on,and prescription lense pricing is conveniently underrepresented in the promotional materials

I moved to M&S for my eye check as my previous optician was awful. My eye checks were carried out by Naomi & Megan who were both lovely. I was able to pick out frame i liked and Naomi and her collegue helped out to pick the best ones for me without any sort of pressure. The whole experiance from start to finish was just so relaxed and every memeber of staff was friendly and helpful and really went above and beyond ensuring i felt welcome

I think M and S opticians have a terrific display of glasses to choose from and everyone who helped me choose just the right pair was extremely kind and helpful. I thought the optometrist was very thorough.

Good selection and price range frames. Left alone to browse without pushy assistants intervening, but were very helpful when asked. Range of lenses too to suit most budgets.

Very well looked after by the staff throughout the process of picking reading and long distance specs.
