I enrolled in a Data Science retraining program at Masterschool because they clearly promised an official IHK-certified diploma upon completion. That promise was central to my decision.

Months into the program, I discovered by accident that the specific IHK certification they advertised no longer exists. When I asked for clarification, Masterschool staff admitted that the IHK had discontinued it some time ago. This was never communicated to me at any point before or during the program. It felt like a serious breach of trust.

When I pressed for answers, I was told that I would not have been allowed to take the IHK exam anyway because of my German language skills. This came as a complete surprise. No one had ever mentioned language issues before. I completed all coursework, followed the curriculum, and was fully engaged. Suddenly, after months of effort, I was being told I was never eligible in the first place.

As a 34-year-old migrant trying to build a new career in tech, I joined Masterschool with high hopes. What I experienced instead was misleading marketing, poor communication, and a deeply disappointing lack of accountability.

If you are considering Masterschool, especially if you are a non-native speaker or looking for an official certification, ask detailed questions and get all promises in writing. Do not rely on verbal assurances or marketing claims.

This has been a frustrating and discouraging experience, and I believe others deserve to know the full picture before making the same mistake.

My time with Masterschool has been nothing short of transformative. From the beginning, the structure of the program, the practical approach to learning, and the incredible support from mentors and instructors have made a real difference in my growth.

What stood out most was the combination of technical depth and career-readiness. The curriculum is hands-on, with real-world projects, clear explanations, and regular feedback, exactly what I needed to build confidence in my skills. The community is also vibrant and genuinely helpful, which made a huge impact on my motivation and progress.

If you are serious about breaking into tech or advancing your skills with effective guidance, I highly recommend Masterschool.

I am enrolled in the 14-month Data Analytics program at Masterschool. At Masterschool you will be provided great and structured learning materials, and access to well-established online learning platforms, which are invaluable to aspiring students. Besides that, the instructors are knowledgeable with good industry experience. In addition to all these, you will have continuous career support from the beginning till the end of your program, which helps student with the job-search process.
From my personal experience, I recommend Masterschool to any aspiring professional who is looking for a career transition or looking to get solid foundation in the world of tech and data.

I've participated in several interview prep sessions at MasterSchool, but my recent one with Maria Carolina was by far the most impactful. She offered invaluable tips and constructive feedback that directly addressed my needs. What truly made the difference was her ability to reinforce my self-belief during the process. Despite limited resources, her charisma and commitment shone through. She even anticipated and included questions a manager would ask, which was incredibly helpful for my upcoming direct interview. Itay helped me improve my social media presence for networking and tailor my CV, which made a big difference. Noa and Malvika, as my career and student managers, were awesome in helping me stay focused as tests and job interviews approached. Their support made me feel less overwhelmed, which definitely contributed to my success during the interviews.

I also want to give a shoutout to the professionals who conducted mock interviews with me, ; they provided incredible constructive feedback that prepared me for the real thing, in Special to Mike Sterrett and Isabel Höhn they both were the last contact I have befora the two contracts I got.

I'm giving this program 5 stars, but I want to keep it real: it wasn't a flawless experience. I managed to secure a job before completing the program, but there were some shifts in the schedule that disrupted my study routine, especially around the holidays. I know these changes were made with the best intentions, but it did impact my experience. I raised my concerns with the school, and I appreciate that they were receptive to the feedback and offered flexibility to students.

Most of the instructors were prepared, knowledgeable, and engaging, with unique teaching approaches that made learning enjoyable. The certifications offered are relevant and helpful.

Just a heads up, though: it’s not an easy process. It’s time-consuming, and effective stress management is crucial to prevent feeling overwhelmed by the calendar, study content, and various activities.

I enjoyed the program very much! Especially that it is very well organized and structured. The content is engaging and exciting, and the people are always kind and willing to help. I felt very supported throughout my journey. I am very thankful for the opportunity to learn so many nice things!

Masterschool is a good place to go if you're looking to get into the tech industry. The instructors + the support/career councelors are wonderful people! Marie helped me out tremendously throughout my journey with her thoughtful guidance and warm approach :) Highly recommend!

Ich habe eine sehr gute Erfahrung mit Masterschool gemacht. Von Anfang bis zum Ende. Mein Bildungsgutschein wurde von der Arbeitsagentur nur für 6 Monate genehmigt, hier war Masterschool von Anfang an eine Unterstützung. Ich konnte den gesamten 12 Monatigen Syllabus innerhalb von weniger als 6 Monaten absolvieren. Mir wurden alle lerninhalte frühzeitig freigegeben und auch meine Jobsuche wird über meine Zeit hinaus unterstützt. Ich kann jedem Masterschool nur empfehlen, hier werden hoch relevante Skills sehr gut vermittelt.

I’ve had a positive experience with the Masterschool Software Engineering program. The structure of the curriculum, especially the focus on real-world projects and hands-on coding, has been very effective for building practical skills.
The mentorship and support from instructors have been excellent. Regular code reviews and one-on-one guidance helped clarify complex topics.

Ich habe mich als absoluter Neueinsteiger ohne jede Vorerfahrung was die 'Tech-Branche' angeht mit dem Bildungsgutschein für den 8-Monatigen Software Engineering (Backend-)- Track eingeschrieben und nun erfolgreich absolviert.

Angefangen mit dem ersten print("Hello, World!") - statement bis zu meinem Abschlussprojekt und sogar darüber hinaus, jetzt nach meinem Abschluss, standen und stehen mir jederzeit Menschen zur Seite bei denen man merkt dass ihnen was an dem liegt, was sie unterrichten. Sie alle sind geduldig, super supportive und vor allem immer erreichbar.
Auch das, was man lernt ist (für mich als jemand der von 0 startet) super strukturiert, verständlich und modern vermittelt und nur selten anfänglich überfordernd (und für diese seltenen Fälle gibts echt eine super Community aus Kollegen, Instructors und Mentoren).
Für den Aufbau einer Community sorgen unter anderem die zwei einwöchigen Hackathons, die für uns organisiert wurden - macht auch ziemlich Spaß.

Ich habe es auch sehr geschätzt, dass die Lerninhalte in wöchentliche, übersichtliche Sprints eingeteilt sind und man allgemein sehr viel Freiraum zur Gestaltung seiner Zeit hat -nicht zuletzt wegen der 100%-Remote-Umgebung des Masterschool Campus und auf Slack. Es sollte aber dennoch nicht unterschätzt werden, dass man sich gerade ohne Vorkenntnisse doch ziemlich intensiv und über den gesamten Zeitraum mit dem Material auseinandersetzen muss um am Ball zu bleiben.
Richtig spaß macht es dann, wenn man den 'core learning'-Teil abgeschlossen hat und sich seinem eigenen Abschlussprojekt widmen kann. Dabei sind einem zwar einige wenige Rahmenbedingungen vorgegeben, die einzuhalten sind, um gewisse Lerninhalte sicherzustellen, ansonsten kann man sich aber wirklich spannende Projekte einfallen lassen bei denen es Spaß macht dran zu arbeiten! Auch hier hat man immer support zur Seite.

Genauso geht es nach dem Projekt weiter, man bekommt support wo es nur geht zu den verschiedensten Themen; man wird praktisch vorbereitet auf Job-interviews vorbereitet, Lernt seinen CV und das LinkedIn-Profil aufzupolieren und erhält Unterstützung, Strategien und Tools zur Jobsuche selbst, wenn man das möchte - bis man einen Job gefunden hat. (Dazu, wie gut diese Weiterbildung auf dem Jobmarkt angenommen wird, kann ich leider noch nichts sagen, da ich erst kürzlich abgeschlossen habe. Ich bin aber davon überzeugt, dass dies ein wunderbarer Schritt in die richtige Richtung ist und viele Chancen birgt, erst recht wenn man die optionalen Zertifikate ebenfalls abschließt)

Ich bin sehr froh diesen Weg gegangen zu sein und kann alle Leuten, die sich neu in der Tech-Branche positionieren möchten, diesen Träger nur wärmstens empfehlen!

Helpful Staff, Staff was trying everything to get me into Masterschool yet to no avail because of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit.

This was one of the worst learning experiences I’ve had. Masterschool charges thousands of euros for access to Notion pages, free YouTube tutorials, and AI-generated content from ChatGPT, all repackaged to look like a “professional curriculum.” Their so-called Campus is just a glorified content library — not a real educational platform. There’s no real interactivity, structure, or depth.

You’re promised mentorship, career support, and a real path to employment. What you actually get is minimal guidance, stretched-thin support, and a ton of self-study using free resources anyone could find online. The program feels like it was thrown together quickly, with marketing doing most of the work.

Even worse, the Agentur für Arbeit funds this, meaning taxpayer money is going to a low-effort, low-value product. Honestly, this should be audited. It’s not a serious education — it’s a business model built on inflated promises and AI-written lessons.

The only good thing about Masterschool was the mentorship from David and Lazar. They were helpful, human, and genuinely cared. Without them, this program would be completely empty.

If you’re considering Masterschool, don’t fall for the branding. You’ll lose money, waste time, and feel like you’ve been scammed by a fake school built on free content and broken promises.

I never thought that, at almost 40y/o, I would be able to retrain completely... but here I am! Masterschool Institute of Technology offers the perfect mix between self-learning and guided lectures, while providing insightful mentorship at the same time! Throughout this journey, I always felt I could learn my own way, at my own pace - which made the experience not only useful obviously, but, maybe more importantly, a lot of fun!
