Maths Solutions has been a fantastic support for my daughter, who has always struggled with Maths. Their expertise in Dyscalculia assessments and tailored tuition has made a real difference. The team, particularly Marijke, are not only knowledgeable but also compassionate and understanding, taking the time to cater to individual needs. My daughter's confidence and skills have grown noticeably since starting sessions. Highly recommend their professional and friendly approach to anyone needing one-to-one specialist tuition.

My daughter has always struggled with Maths and after doing some research I came to the conclusion that the problem could be Dyscalculia.
At my request, her Secondary School conducted a screening in year 7 which indicated that there was a strong likelihood of this.
Unfortunately, that is where their assistance has ended as the school couldn’t and still isn’t providing her with the support she needs. So, after deciding to engage the assistance of a specialist I was lucky enough to find the incredible Marijke.

Marijke carried out a full assessment which, as predicted did indicated Dyscalculia. My daughter now has an hour 1:1 tuition session every week and what a difference it is making!
Marijke is absolutely fabulous; she has taken the time to not only understand my daughters Maths needs but her personality and anxieties too. Marijke is brilliant at working out the unique requirements of the individual and tailoring the tutoring to suit, which to me is what makes her special.
My daughter loves coming to the sessions and her confidence has grown dramatically as well as her Maths skills.
I cannot thank her enough for the incredible knowledge, patience and continued support she has not only given my daughter but to me too.

We had a twilight session on "Time" and it was excellent. It gave us a lot of resources and ideas on how to teach "Time" that we can use in class.

Maths solutions undertook a bespoke assessment for my daughter to support a request for specialist maths tutiton in her EHCP. My daughter felt very at ease during the assessment and enjoyed the conversations as well as the maths. As a result of the report we have now enabled her to come out of her Gcse maths pathway and for a specilist trained dyscalculia teacher to come into school to teach her to achieve hopefully in the future functional skills maths. Marijke guided us through the process of obtaining a Dyscalculia Assessment Report for our teenage daughter with efficiency and above all, compassion. She listened to our concerns, liaised with the school and provided us with lots of useful information of what should happen and when. She made my daughter feel very at ease throughout the testing process and we felt very supported. Thank you so much for all your help.

Our daughter was a struggling Maths student leading into her GCSEs. She attended weekly tuitions with Maria. The extra one to one time and effort was well worth it. Her understanding of Maths (and other Maths related subjects) improved and she was well rewarded with excellent GCSEs.

My experience here was amazing I went from not passing maths to getting a B in my final exam. The one extra hour a week allowed me to work on my skills and pushed me to work harder at home as well. Paul was so lovely to me and understood where I was at in the subject and consistently gave me motivation to do the best I can.

Both Maria and Marijke are experts in their field and completely turned my very anxious about maths daughter around in no time. Her confidence grew weekly and she exceeded her own expectations and got a 6! I can highly recommend Maths Solutions, we tried Kip McGrath but this didn’t work for her. If you’re looking for one to one professional, friendly tuition these are your girls!

i highly recommend, i went from scraping 4s in my mock exams not knowing if i would pass the real thing, to getting a 6 in my actual GCSE. Maria is patient and will go over things as many times as you need. The owner, Marijke was so helpful and managed to squeeze me in and i’m so glad she could.

We decided to get extra support for our daughter who was in Y11, to aid her through her GCSEs. Paul has been great and we would 100% recommend! We now have a teen who ‘likes maths’ and says ‘why did I find it so difficult before’ Just priceless really! Quality teaching!
We get the GCSE results in august, but whatever the result, we have seen improved confidence and a more positive approach to maths which will hopefully stay with our daughter into adulthood! Thank you 😊

I studied maths with paul from October to June and throughly enjoyed it. He helped me gain confidence and improve in the subject. I found Paul to be kind and easy to talk to.

I recently got some maths lessons for my 16 yr old daughter who turned out to be dyscalculic. It really took the fear out of maths for her. Oddly, she actually looked forward to the tutor sessions as she got to ask questions about maths that she wouldn't/couldn't in school. She felt she learned more in a one hour session with Paul (the tutor) than she would learn in weeks of lessons in school. It does make you think of how much time is just wasted in school or how poor the teaching can be. Anyhow, the service is excellent, can't rate it highly enough.

As a 44-year-old adult who has struggled with math all my life, I can wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Marijke as a dyscalculia specialist tutor for all adult learners. Throughout my education, career, and even during my degree, I had developed coping strategies to get by, but I never truly thrived in my mathematical pursuits. It was only by a serendipitous encounter that I met Marijke, and I am beyond grateful that our paths crossed.

In merely eight weeks, I have managed to cover an entire year of GCSE maths and am now prepared to sit for my maths exam. I am incredibly proud of myself and the progress I have made, and I eagerly look forward to the future. This outstanding achievement would not have been possible without the regular sessions I had with Marijke.

Marjike's unparalleled knowledge and her exceptional ability to translate the language of maths in a kind and compassionate way have made me feel relaxed, confident, and understood for the first time in many years. I vividly recall my first session, where I used to count on my fingers, and now I am adept at multiplying fractions, understanding probability, and comfortably handling day-to-day calculations.

Joe started having lessons with Maths Solutions because his confidence with maths was really low. He enjoyed the subject, but found motivation hard. Coming out of the pandemic, we realised Joe had big gaps in his maths knowledge. Maths Solutions helped with all those things. The teachers were enthusiastic, which made it really hard for Joe not to put effort into his lesson. He really found value in having someone to ask the silly questions, as he felt unable to ask in class. The teachers worked hard to establish Joe’s gaps in knowledge, and worked on them. Joe has just completed his mock GCSEs and is predicted a 6/7. He confidence in his maths ability is high, which has improved his feelings of self- belief. We’ve had a great experience using Maths Solutions and I would use again if my other sons require additional support.
