Went to the Mount Airy, MD. location for lunch for the third time. Thought maybe it would be ber but the subs were so "wet" with oils that the bread fell apart immediately. This time, my wife and I were going to split a 12" sub. We ordered the sub, side, and drink. The sub was only a 6" and the drink was wrong. This is bad for a 3 piece order. Then the cashier told us that our card was declined - others heard. It turned out NOT to be declined - she just did not know what she was doing. My wife tole the manager/owner that we had wanted a 12" not a 6" and he said that there is now a line and it would be a few minutes. My wife told him never mind since I was half done with the 6". Another customer who heard that "our card was declined" saw my wife eating nothing and me eating the 6" and she offered to buy my wife a meal "since her card had been declined" This was humiliating and embarrassing - not to mention that the food was awful. The manager/owner should have IMMEDIATELY made good with the 12" - not tell us that it would be a while. I will NEVER return to this location. I filled out a survey and the manager/owner never even had the decency to contact us.

The manager is verbally abusive to black staff. That is NOT OKAY.

First off, I’ve eaten at McAlister’s before and the sandwiches were fine — no complaints. This time I went to the Matthews, NC location, and I would rate this a zero star if I could. I ordered two sandwiches, the Memphian and the Chicken Melt. Both were disgusting. They were sloppily made, the tomatoes were over‑ripe and mushy, the white bread looked like cheap dollar‑store bread and wasn’t toasted, and the chicken smelled foul.

I also ordered two bags of salt & vinegar chips and they were stale.

This ruined my dinner, and it genuinely felt like my money was thrown in the trash. I want a refund and better quality control on the food being served to customers

I went to McAlister Deli for lunch and got the nachos and they were amazing. Fresh, and just overall great experience. It was my first time, and the staff was super friendly and polite.

Left me in the pickup line for a half hour. Employee was incredibly rude when I tried to find out what was going on. Will let people know what a disaster this place is at every opportunity.

Food is great, ordering website is horrible. -3 stars ordering online.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!
Today I placed an on line order for curbside pickup. I arrived 10 minutes early. I received a text that my order was ready and someone would be out shortly with my food. I then received another text that my order did not go through. The manager (Kendrick) comes to my car and apologizes. He then says he could put through my order and asks for my credit card and says he cannot give it to me for free. I NEVER ASKED FOR ANYTHING FREE! He says he has my order details and says it should be about 5-7 minutes. He comes out again and one of my items is unavailable. I said forget the whole thing and got my card back. This jerk manager wouldn’t even give me my “free” birthday cookie. I guarantee you if I were white this white manager would have offered some kind of compensation. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!

I don't usually write reviews, I just stop going to the restaurant. I ordered a meal on a Tuesday evening for delivery which is unusual for me. My salad came, my husband's sandwich came and the chips for the nacho basket
BUT NO CHEESE. I called the store and told them. In my mind the correct response would be we're sorry, we'll have that out to you right now. NOT you can get a refund or come get it yourself now or another day. When I got on this sight I saw they had a 2.6 rating. I looked at the 1 stars to see how complaints were handled. Their not, that is why you have a low rating and losing repeat customers at locations who don't care. I don't know if it's management or staff. BUT tell me if it happened to you what would you want their response to be. Thank you.

I am a frequent customer of McAlister’s Deli in Columbia Tennessee. From the moment I walked in, everyone was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely focused on providing great service. The restaurant is always clean, comfortable, and has a warm atmosphere. It’s clear the manager (Greg) and his employees, one in particular (Izzy) take pride in both the food and customer service. It’s rare to find a place that consistently delivers excellent food and exceptional customer service, but McAlister’s does exactly that. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal and a great dining experience

I went to the Valpo IN location at 11:15AM. Since there were several other people ahead of me I used the app to place my order.
It said my order would be ready at 11:45. I went to the counter and let them know I was already in the store. I asked that they check on my order. They gave me my drink and then I sat down with my sister, who ordered at the counter, within minutes her order came out then another persons order came out. This went on several more times. Now it was 11:34 and when I asked for my money back the crew member asked me what time did it say in my order. I told her 11:45. She said then I had to wait 10 more minutes. I told her I checked in at the counter when I arrived. She informed me that the orders from the app take a much longer time to complete. She said it doesn’t show up on the screen until 15 minutes before the time given on the app.
I didn’t get my money back. And all of the sudden my order appeared on the counter. If what she told me is true then I blame the software program. If it’s not true I blame the store personnel. Either way… don’t think I’ll
Be going back to that store.

I ordered McAlister's Catering for a work lunch. The boxes were customized for each person. The food was great and Brooke went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect!

The roast beef on my French dip was to thick. The Mac and cheese was old and way overcooked. Overpriced menu.

The deli on battlefield in Springfield was awesome. Service was quick and sandwich was great too. I would recommend.

I ordered a cup of Broccoli Cheddar Soup to eat at home. It takes me 35 minutes each way. I heated my soup to eat it. The soup was weak, watery, and nasty. It tasted like they took one cup of soup and made three times that amount. Cleveland, MS

I got a 1/2 sandwich and soup. The sandwich was a half of a croissant. So tiny they could not put a whole tomato slice. It was cut in half. 3 pieces of lettuce the size of parsley leaves. And maybe 1/2 tablespoon of chicken salad. Lunch and drink was over $16. Will go to Chik fil a next time for less money.

Food and service excellent today. The topper was the “Mardi Gras” cookie…I hope that remains on the menu for awhile.

I want to share my recent experience with McAlister’s Deli’s rewards program, which has been pretty disappointing. I had accumulated almost 2,000 points over time, mostly because I only visit occasionally when I’m really craving their chicken tortilla soup. When I finally checked the app to redeem my points, I found out they’d all been wiped out because I hadn’t used them in the past year.

In today’s economy, with food prices rising, a lot of people save their reward points for times when money gets tight—like during the holidays when they’re juggling bills, gifts, and gas. Unlike other places that let you hold on to your points, McAlister’s just erases them if you don’t visit often enough, which really defeats the purpose of a loyalty program for occasional customers.

Overall, it’s been a negative experience, and I think other customers should know that McAlister’s points won’t be there when you need them most. I can’t recommend their rewards program under these conditions.

Ordered on app with the National Sandwich Day offer of buy one get one 50% off of your favorite sandwich. No caveats regarding the order. Picked up and was charged full price for both sandwiches. Questioned the server and was told it didn't apply to "deluxe" sandwiches and one of ours was in that category. Double checked the offer-it said nothing about there being exclusions.
