Offshore Medic Course
I recently completed the Offshore Medic course with Medipro and felt compelled to leave a review, particularly regarding the outstanding quality of the instructors.
Craig, the lead instructor, was exceptional throughout the course. His knowledge of day-to-day offshore life was extensive and invaluable, offering genuine insight into what candidates can expect when working in that environment. In addition to delivering excellent teaching on primary care and prolonged field care, he also took the time to hold informal discussion sessions where he answered a wide range of niche and practical questions from the group. Craig was approachable, professional, highly knowledgeable, and an all-round excellent person to learn from.
Mike was equally impressive. As a highly experienced paramedic, he delivered the Advanced Trauma Life Support and Pre-Hospital Trauma Management elements of the course to an extremely high standard. He was always transparent in stating that he had not personally worked offshore, yet if any offshore-specific questions arose, he would always make the effort to find the correct answer—which he consistently did.
His teaching provided a deep understanding of trauma care and the unique challenges of managing seriously unwell or injured patients in austere environments such as offshore settings. Mike was approachable, humble, and encouraged open professional discussion throughout. He welcomed differing clinical opinions and never dismissed alternative viewpoints, recognising that everyone attending brought their own experience and clinical background. This created an excellent learning environment built on mutual respect.
He was also particularly supportive in preparing candidates for the examinations, encouraging us to apply safe and effective practices based on our own professional training rather than forcing a rigid one-size-fits-all approach.
Overall, Medipro delivered an excellent course, and both Craig and Mike were first-class instructors who clearly care about developing competent and confident offshore medics. I would highly recommend both the course and the teaching team.
