Not the Move We Were Promised
It has been several months since our move, and I waited intentionally before writing this to make sure my comments were fair. When I hired MetroHop, I believed they were the actual moving company. Only later did I learn they were a broker, and that misrepresentation set the stage for everything that went wrong.
The mover they assigned was terrible. We were charged an additional $1,500 for packing fees and materials—even though we had already boxed and labeled everything ourselves. All they did was wrap the furniture.
What was supposed to be a single truck going directly to our new home within three days was instead taken to a warehouse, consolidated, reloaded, and delivered a full week later. Several boxes and pieces of furniture went missing after the truck made an unexplained stop before reaching us. Some of those missing items didn’t show up until almost two weeks after the original delivery, others not at all.
Throughout this ordeal, calling MetroHop was pointless. They took no responsibility for the mover they hired, repeatedly pushed us off to a company that wouldn’t answer the phone, and when we did reach someone, we were given conflicting or outright false information.
Given the misrepresentation, the unexpected charges, the delays, the missing items, and the complete lack of accountability, I cannot recommend MetroHop to anyone. I would never do business with them again.
