As a solar installer, I genuinely want to like Easy PV because there are some excellent aspects to the platform. The proposal generation is professional, and the materials lists generated from designs are extremely useful and can save a significant amount of time.

Unfortunately, the software itself continues to be plagued by ongoing bugs, inconsistencies and unexpected behaviour. We regularly find ourselves spending considerable time checking calculations, reworking designs, troubleshooting issues and trying to understand whether a problem is user error or another software glitch.

The biggest issue is trust. When you're producing customer proposals, financial forecasts and system designs, confidence in the underlying calculations is essential. Unfortunately, after experiencing repeated issues, we have reached a point where we no longer fully trust the outputs without manually verifying them.

The result is lost time, reduced efficiency, increased costs and frustration for our team. Whilst support has been responsive at times, the frequency of software gremlins suggests there are deeper quality assurance and testing issues that need addressing.

Easy PV has the potential to be an outstanding product, and the proposal and bill-of-material functionality is genuinely impressive. However, until stability, reliability and consistency improve, it is difficult to recommend it with confidence for business-critical design work.

Ongoing software bugs and inconsistencies
Time lost troubleshooting issues
Reduced confidence in calculations and outputs
Requires frequent manual verification

Overall: Great potential, but reliability issues currently outweigh the benefits.

I have confidence that Midsummer won't let us down in the middle of an installation. Mark W has been a huge help in advising us on products and making sure we have everything we need for a smooth installation, and the rest of the team have always been helpful and efficient. The Midsummer deliveries always turn up when they should do, and it's always easy to deal with the team on the phone when delivery dates need to be moved at short notice. The products are well packed, and on the one occasion when the wrong (but very similar and easily mixed up) product was sent, a 2-min call to the team was enough to get the right product out to us for pre-10am delivery the next morning, meaning that we weren't held up in any way.

They are also surprisingly competitive on the smaller components too, which is where I some distributors would hide a massive markup, so it's great to be able to get everything in one delivery rather than having to deal with multiple suppliers.

We've been using Midsummer since 2021 and have had a very positive experience throughout.
The service is excellent, orders are processed efficiently, and when issues do arise they are dealt with quickly and without fuss.

What an incredible customer experience we have just had with Midsummer Energy.

We were faced with a challenging situation involving the supply and urgent delivery of an air source heat pump, which needed to be on site before 10:00am the following morning. At such short notice, we knew it would be a difficult task.

Zac immediately stepped in, located the required unit, and got everything moving without delay. Erin then took over and somehow managed to arrange delivery before 10:00am the very next day – something we genuinely didn't think would be possible.

Throughout the entire process, communication was exceptional. We were kept fully informed at every stage via both email and telephone, giving us complete confidence that everything was under control.

In an industry where great customer service can be hard to find, Zac and Erin truly stand out. Their professionalism, efficiency, dedication, and commitment to helping customers is a credit to both themselves and Midsummer Energy.

Don't Choose Midsummer Energy !!!

Been using Midsummer for years, and always had a great experience. Good staff, communication is great and a good range of products on hand.

I think Midsummer are a great company. Nothing feels like too much trouble for our account manager Lizzie and even when she's not available the rest of the team are able and willing to help. Their customer service is tip top and the whole ordering process is so easy. From checking stock on the portal to getting our delivery everything runs like clockwork. The best prices too... can't really ask for more.

Its such a shame when what could have been a great company with great potential is completely undermined by a few incompetent and INSOLENT members of staff.

I purchased my off grid system for my narrow boat from the team at Midsummer Energy. Their service has been exceptional, from welcoming me to an initial discussion at their office in Cambridge to the after care in supporting my instillation. Friendly, knowledgeable and responsive, all you need in a supplier. I'd especially like to thank Mike.

CRC Electrical and renewables have been using Midsummer for a number of years and have always found the range of products second to none. Its a one top stop for all things solar and the perfect supplier to use if you want to build a successful solar business. Our account handler is Ed Hawkes he is very knowable and moves mountains for us every week in order for us to get the stock and prices we need. It was not long ago we where spending very little with midsummer and shopping around all the smaller supplier for the best prices. Since Ed has taken over our account he has sourced us amazing prices and gives us impeccable service. We now get 90% of all our solar products from Ed at midsummer and that is largely testament to him and his managers allowing him to make the right decisions to help us grow.

We use Midsummer for 99% of our installations. They have an excellent selection of quality, reasonably priced products and the integration with Easy PV makes it super easy to order/edit/pay for your kit.

Our account manager Vanessa is friendly, helpful, approachable and usually replies to queries within the hour. She's so efficient and makes our job much easier!

Developments in the past 6 months such as editing your own orders, next day delivery and live availability of products have all been smoothly rolled out and really useful. We particularly loved the free delivery offer throughout January and February!

I would 100% recommend using Midsummer for Solar installers.

There was a delay on our order, the courier said the pallet had been "mis-routed"..

Got in touch with my account manager, they got the delivery rearranged for the next day , with a two hour booked slot that we could make arrangements around

A little bit inconvenient, but these things do happen, but it's great to know they're are only an email away when you need them

We have been using Midsummer for quite some time now, and I must say we are very impressed.

All their products are delivered on-time and in full. They stock almost everything we need, and if they do not have it, then they do try and get it for us.

A special mention goes to Penny Takou. She has been our guardian angel. Anytime we need help or have questions, Penny is always at hand. She is on top of her game and is the main reason I am leaving this 5-star review. I am very impressed with the way she conducts her day to day work and is always looking to go the extra mile. It is hard to find honest hard working people and Penny is definitely one of them. She is the definition of world class customer service and is a great asset to Midsummer.
