I am absolutely fuming

I am absolutely fuming! 5 emails to this company sice 11th April, 2 texts and absolutely zero response.

I want to return an item , which according to them is simple. Im a pensioner, on a strict budget so phoning France is not an option.

I guess I just have to write off the best part of £30

Great customer service / interaction

So this is my second order from MilitarySurplus - this time mostly to use the points i earned on my first purchase.

trouble is it was hard to decide which items to select - i had quite a few points, and the site has a lot on it. nevertheless - i settled on a pair of surplus alt-berg boots, a surplus water bladder / pack, and some other bits and bobs.

#1 - some of the other bits and bobs were delayed - the team reached out to me immediately with information, and options
#2 - they kept me up to date, and kept their promises.

one note: sadly the water bladder leaked as it had a pin-prick hole in it - however - it's a surplus bladder - let's not expect too much - and it was easily fixed with a bit of tape. still - the pack / bladder combination is already in use now that it's warming up in spring.

Would i recommend ? sure - yes - wholeheartedly.
Will i use again? yes

Very bad and expensive experience - no contact possible!

I purchased a parachute that was listed as in stock and expected to arrive within 5 days. However, after making the payment, I received no updates, and the website later indicated that the item was not available. Despite this, the payment had already been taken.

I attempted to cancel the order, but my emails did not go through, and my account did not show any record of the purchase—even though I had created it during the checkout process.

Now, after several weeks, they have contacted me to say that the parachute is about to arrive. Strangely, their email works when they need to communicate, but not when I try to reach them.

At this point, I no longer need the item. I am also unable to process a return, as the order does not appear in my account. I tried calling as well, but there was only noise on the line.

This experience feels highly untrustworthy. I have lost a significant amount of money and time.

(I have screenshots documenting all of this and can provide them if needed.)

Those Romanian rucksacks just need some leather balm to shine. NB: extra metal hooks go under the belt.
Will buy again..

Don't order here. And if you do - Document EVERYTHING with PHOTOS!

Where to begin?
First and foremost. DON'T order from this company.
My best friend has ordered from them twice and received 75% of the things he ordered.
I ordered once and got 80% of what i ordered.
3/3 incomplete orders and a lot of talk with customer support which led nowhere.
They sure are cheap which looks good but don't expect to get all you order if you do.

1. I ordered and chose ONLY items that were "in storage".

2. I paid for the order july 10th 2025.

3. I check my order the 17th, now suddenly it's "waiting for items that were not in storage".

4. I mail customer support with questions and get a pretty standard answer with "sincere apologies but check my spam folder for status update email.."

5. Via email i negotiate (18th to 22nd july) dropping a few items from the order in exchange for some other stuff. All good.

6. July 23rd, almost 2 whole weeks after initially ordering, the order was sent out.

7. Received my package the 1 august 2025, the package feels a bit on the light side, I open it up and one bit item is missing. 1 of the 2 exactly similar shirts is missing.

8. I write with customer support between 1st to 5th august. They claim they scan everything and the fault is mine for not checking the parcel good enough. I know I triple checked everything after opening the package which I write to them.

9. In a new email thread starting 8th of august I'm asked by customer support to send photos of the EAN codes. I find a 3 EAN codes from the package and send them photos (8th aug).

10. 13th of aug I'm told that those are not correct labels, they want EAN codes of the shirt. The shirt is unmarked and has neither labels nor EAN codes apart from the one i just sent. I sen them photos anyhow to proove the point.

11. 5 sept, after a 3 weeks of silent treatment from them, I write anew to customer support asking them what is happening and if they can't just send me a new surplus shirt (value is €9, so it's laughable they fight over this but hey, it is what it is).

12. I get an answer, one hour later, that the person is just back from vacation and has checked all systems, cameras and warehouse stock but that it's 100% correct and the fault is at my end, asking me if package was damaged or anything and the courier company might be the culprit. They also claim that they sent me Whatsapp messages the 20th of august. I have NEVER received any Whatsapp-messages from them nor have i had any contact, WHATSOEVER, with them through Whatsapp.

13. I take a few days searching through all places where i have my surplus gear and also check garbage for the package remains, no shirt and nothing that indicates the package was opened or damaged before arriving to me, to what I can see anyway.

14. September 11, 2025 I write an answer asking;

14a. Why they suddenly claim they wrote to me on Whatsapp when I can clearly see no such thing has been done?

14b. Why Whatsapp when we have ONLY communicated through email until now?

14c. I describe the package as having been wrapped using brown tape.

15. 16th of september I get an email requesting me to send photos of the packaging to be able to file a complaint since this company does not use brown tape.

16. At this point, I just gave up and didn't answer.

If you order from this company:

* Take photos of everything.
* Save EVERYTHING, especially the packaging
* Be ready to answer on every platform
* Have patience, or lots of alcohol - you're gonna need it
* Don't expect to get all your things anyway

Effettuo un ordine per errore chiedo immediatamente l annullamento mando mail subito all istante seguo insomma le loro istruzioni. Nessuna risposta se non dopo tre GG nella quale mi si dice che non si può annullare perché già partito.e all'arrivo avrei dovuto fare il reso con spedizione a mio carico insomma lasciate stare se siete abituati a siti dove la relazione conta.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

having bought a coat from surplus military ,and when it arrived i needed a bigger size i then got in touch and paid 15 pounds to return coat for an exchange
up till then customer service was ok .but when the tracking said it was delivered there no more contact
7 emails later and still nothing still waiting for the exchange,, so now having to report this through PayPal for full refund i wont buy from here again and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND to anyone avoid if possible

Buying experience with MILITARY SURPLUS and product evaluation
The first thing that you are impressed by is the different approach as far as the confirmation message from the company which fills you with confidence that whatever issues arise, the team is doing its best to follow through and bring the order to a successful end.
One day before delivery I was contacted by the company to be informed regarding the delivery date.
The product has been freshly received in good condition. The installation will be performed at a later date. As a small improvement tip, I can suggest making the installation instructions available directly on site or sent directly to the buyer once the purchase process has started.
The delivery timeframe was a little off due to the holidays season. I wished I was kept more in the loop about the new timeframe.
Once the product has reached you, the company provides you with thorough instructions about the return policy, which are the most detailed that I have seen, providing you with screenshots from the client account itself to make the process as smooth as possible for the client. This is what I call client service, which is a rare thing nowadays.
My return to the site in a client capacity is locked and valid. I look forward to future buying experiences with the supplier.
