I have rented a node that has CN2 peering with China Telecom after a server from another vendor has closed their China route due to an ongoing DDoS attack. The deployment was done within seconds and so far this node is working perfectly. No issues whatsoever. I have not contacted customer service and cannot make any comment about the quality of customer service.
Service canceled and no refund! do not use them, had issues with their infrastructure and suspend our service without refund.
Lot of downtimes, entire datacenter was unreachable.
They changed their dhcp network, which results that our vps got invalid gateway after reboot.
vps was canceled by them now.
still did not recieved the money!
I've used Misaka for about 6 months now and would recommend them to others. They've got a nice selection of locations, BGP Sessions, and a solid network. I've only had one outage so far, and it was resolved within ~2 hours.
Their dashboard/control panel is custom as far as I know and I haven't had any issues with it. A nice change from Solus/Virtualizor.
Edit 2024-08-27: Used for a bit over two years now, same info as above, no issues very stable service! I have used them in Ashburn/Netherlands/Johannesburg/Hong Kong/Singapore and Germany
Performs fine. Also uses the Datapacket/CDN77 network which is one of the best out there. Good pricing too, although depending on preferred location the stock availability can perhaps sometimes be an issue. If you're looking for a decent virtual server on a decent network then give Misaka a try!
Slow support, slow server provisioning, laggy payment gateway, everything is super slow.
They give a fast VM for $5, one of the fastest I've rented anywhere, but some data centres start at $10 or $15. Tech support answers questions reasonably quickly.
There are several negatives, unfortunately.
Their web site leaves much to be desired. It's hard to find pricing or figure out how to add services on their control panel. Not intuitive at all.
You get less storage space than on competing services. Their $5 to $15 entry-level VM only has 16GB, whereas 25GB to 200GB is common in a $5 to $10 VM.
They block outgoing port 25, so your VM can't forward any e-mail to your mail server, e.g., for Cron jobs. It took me a few days to realise I was not getting notices of Cron jobs, fail2ban notices, and other notices from my apps. I was doing all kinds of diagnostics, not wanting to look like a fool, until I finally asked them and they told me they blocked port 25 outgoing using some weird language to explain that I did not understand and telling me to rent an AWS instance if I wanted e-mail. To me that sounded like, "we don't want your business; try AWS instead".
I think they must do other blocking, too, because I have six database replication slaves and the one that's on their network is the only one that goes out-of-sync multiple times per day. Somehow packets get lost.
If you have some other way to monitor the server than by e-mail notices, do not need outgoing mail, are not doing DB replication, and do not need much storage, then you might give them a try. But rather than spend the time and expense to find out it doesn't work, you might want to pick another like Contabo that doesn't block things and gives you more for your money.
