Mont Adventure Equipment is an independent Australian company founded in Canberra in 1981. We're serious gear users and stand by our product. After years of frustrations with the poor quality of adventure clothing and equipment available, Monty had enough and made something better, something he could rely on. In 1978, using a borrowed sewing machine, he made himself a sleeping bag, down jacket and tent. Friends were impressed by his creations, and commissioned pieces. A reputation for quality gear quickly spread and in 1981 Mont Adventure Equipment was founded. While Mont has long since outgrown Monty's small unit in Canberra, Australia, he still directs the company and works closely with a passionate team on the design and testing of all Mont products. As dedicated adventurers ourselves, quality is never compromised just to save a few cents. To this day Mont Adventure Equipment is still privately owned, based in Canberra, fiercely independent and totally committed to better gear for the wild. Good quality harness for a reasonable price
Love shopping with Mont. Good quality products, easy to use website and fast delivery. Best price available for Edelrid Jay harness, first adult harness for my 13 year old grandson. He's delighted to have four gear loops (only two on his Edelrid Finn), loves the Wasabi colour way and appreciated the free sticker.

Bought item online. When it arrived I realised that it would not do the job that I wanted it to. Contacted Mont for a return, details arrived quickly, item returned, refund approved. Easy process.

It took me quite some time to get a…
It took me quite some time to get a good outcome after a warranty issue which is why I have rated 4 rather than 5 stars. The issues were finally resolved with the tent and my jacket was replaced for which I am extremely grateful. Despite my negative experience with the tent (now rectified) I, and my family, have many Mont items that have stood the test of time.

Quick. Helpful. Communicative. Embodies sustainability. Lovely customer service. I’ve had my tent for 7 years and they provided the tent poles elastic for free / sent them. I live in Rural Victoria so access to Bunnings etc is more difficult. They provided instructions.

Your the best!
All equipment I have bought for the last 25 years from Mont has been of excellent quality and made for Australian conditions. I back country ski and hike mostly on the east coast of Australia and Tasmania and your gear has never failed me.
