I would not recommend.
I ordered a Vivo kit from Gutcheck. There is nothing much interesting I got from this test. I received a long report with basic info, advices that are not explained, diet recommendations that include meat while I mentioned I’m vegetarian. And these recommandations are actually not aligned with the ones given by my nutritionist and doctor. So it looks like a generic report that does not take in consideration neither your choices or your health condition.
There is no real takeaway I get from this report. I really regret this purchase.

I purchased the package that included both the regular GutCheck kit and the female GutCheck kit. Unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing, particularly the consultation.

The results took a couple of months to come back, and when they finally arrived, the reports from the two kits contained contradictory recommendations, which was confusing.

The consultation was the biggest letdown. Throughout the 30-minute session, I had to remind the practitioner multiple times that I’m vegan. Despite this, she repeatedly asked whether being vegan was a choice, suggested consuming lactose-containing foods, and even asked how much red meat I eat after I had already explained several times that I don’t consume any animal products. It left me feeling like my responses weren’t being listened to.

I also explained that I had completed both test kits because I had purchased the package containing both. She told me I wasn’t supposed to complete both, but that wasn’t made clear when I received the kits. They weren’t clearly marked, and there were no obvious instructions indicating that only one should be used. This made the contradictory results even more frustrating.

The reports themselves contained some interesting information, but I would not recommend paying extra for the consultation based on my experience. It wasn’t particularly helpful and left me with more confusion than clarity.

They're a high quality Canadian microbiome gut testing company based out of Newfoundland. It took 2 months to get my results back, but it was worth it. The customer service is also prompt and friendly and makes sure you get your questions answered. I'll definitely consider doing it again in the future once I've had time to change my diet for a few months to see how it changes me inside. The results were accurate too.
