I had to get a new card but they were still able to get ahold that one too so im stuck with turning my international payings off

Robbed me of 39.95 this morning. Reported to bank as scam
exactly as other reviews
exactly as other reviews. I paid £1.95 for a one-offer and have now been charged £39.95 on 20th Sept. as a monthly subscription. Do take care. I am trying to get a refund.

Scammers
Scammers! Initially pay £1.95 for a quiz/test then once completed you receive a email saying that you have subscribed to their account and £39.95 will be taken every 4weeks. I came on Trustpilot and read reviews copied and pasted ( with some tweaks for my personal reference) and then pasted to mytraitsprofile.com
I am writing to formally cancel my subscription and request that no further charges will be take from my account.
On 20/09/26, I completed a quiz on your platform and paid £1.95 to access a report. ( which I did not download or viewed, nor did I access your platform) At no point during the quiz itself was I clearly informed that this would lead to a recurring subscription charge of £39.95 subscription amount. If this information was included anywhere, it was in text so small it was not reasonably visible or legible, and I do not consider this to meet the standard of clear and prominent disclosure required before a consumer agrees to pay.
I received one email from you, which mentioned the subscription terms.
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, I am entitled to a 14-day cooling-off period from the date the contract was entered into, during which I can cancel for any reason and receive a full refund, now I am not bothered about the £1.95 but I absolutely do not want to pay for subscription!!! This is a statutory right under UK consumer law, and it is not overridden by your subscription terms. I am within this period.
I would like the following:
Immediate cancellation of my subscription
Written confirmation once this has been actioned
Please respond asap . If I do not receive a satisfactory response, I will be pursuing a chargeback through my bank if any payment is taken and will refer this matter to Citizens Advice and Trading Standards. Please note that you will not receive any response until after the 3rd email, so I reposted this twice, after my first polite post. I received an email back confirming cancellation of my subscription. Good luck.
SCAMMERS
If I could give less than 1 star I would. They are a bunch of SCAMMERS and take a £39.99 subscription charge when I had paid £1.50 for an I Q test, which was all I wanted. I'm usually very savvy online but these b****ds got me good and proper. CON ARTISTS. BEWARE!
How to get your full refund
Don’t settle for the 25% refund they offer at first! Like most real people on here I was scammed out of my money through their hidden reoccurring subscription scam. I contacted my bank who encouraged me to try and get them to reverse the charge before opening an official dispute; if you don’t particularly enjoy writing emails then you’ll probably be able to open a dispute with your bank and get your money back pretty easily, however it’ll take time and I don’t think it’s quite as satisfying as making an AI chatbot backdown and admit defeat. Unfortunately I can’t provide screenshots but I can paste in the final email I sent MyTraitsProfile’s customer support bot ‘Ella’ before she backed down and sent me a refund:
Hi Ella,
Unfortunately for the reasons I outlined in my previous email I will need a 100% refund of £39.95. I encourage you to look at your trustpilot reviews which all largely concur with me that the conditions presented upon purchase falsely represent the subscription you claim I signed up for in full acknowledgement. Clearly there is an issue with your website’s transparency if countless other customers have encountered the same issue. I revisited your website today to check again what it says upon purchase, however you seem to have altered your website’s structure since last Friday so that now you have to pay before taking any of your tests, rather than at the end. Because of this it is impossible for me to verify your claims and based on the fact countless other customers say the same thing as me, I cannot agree that the terms were made clear to me at the time of my “one-off” purchase.
Furthermore, the fact that a subscription term may have appeared somewhere in the terms or confirmation email does not in itself demonstrate that this significant recurring charge was clearly and prominently disclosed at the point I made the purchase.
I also received no effective warning that £39.95 was about to be taken from my account. I only became aware that I was supposedly subscribed when my bank notified me that the payment had already been taken. I have not used the subscription or any of its services since making the original £1.95 purchase, and I cancelled it as soon as I became aware of the charge.
If you maintain that I expressly agreed to the £39.95 recurring subscription, please provide me with:
1. A copy/screenshot of the exact checkout page presented to me at the time of purchase;
2. The exact wording used to explain that the £1.95 payment would result in a recurring £39.95 subscription;
3. Evidence showing how and where I expressly agreed to those recurring payments at the initial time of purchase ; and
4. The email reminding me of my subscription separate from the “one off purchase” confirmation email, in order to be DMCC compliant.
In particular, I would like to see how the recurring £39.95 charge was presented before I made the £1.95 payment, rather than simply being referred to in subsequent terms or correspondence.
Given that I did not knowingly consent to the subscription, have not used the subscription and cancelled it immediately upon discovering the charge, I believe a full refund of £39.95 is appropriate.
Please reconsider your decision and refund the full amount to my original payment method.
If you are unwilling to do so, please treat this as a formal complaint and provide your final response, including the evidence requested above, so that I can provide it to my bank when pursuing the dispute.
Kind regards,
Simply paste the above and you should be ok. It took a few emails to get to that point but I think asking them to supply evidence that they’re within their legal right to withhold your funds generally scares them enough to let you off the hook. Always mention your consumer rights and never back down!!!
This is pure Fraud !!!
CAUTION NEEDED. Not a fair company.
Please be careful when using this company. You might find you have been charged for a subscription you did not want. I discovered they had taken £39.95 from my account when I only had bought and paid for one small profile. I see some people have managed to get all their money back but I have only been offered 25%. They don’t make it clear what they intend to do and I think they’re very close to being illegal in the UK but I’ve not been able to find out for sure
They have a very sneaky subscription…
They have a very sneaky subscription service. You don’t even realize you’re signing up for. I paid a dollar for a test and a couple of weeks later. My bank account was charged $40 for a subscription I did not want and wasn’t even aware I signed up for. When I wrote to request a refund, they denied me.
Stay Away...Predatory Charging
This company is absolutely a scam. i did purchase a personality the test for 1.95. i did not. Do you see any information regarding automatically being enrolled in a subscription that jumped up to 39.95 a month. If it was in the fine print, it was just that, very fine print. when I went through my emails, I could not find one thing that had to do with this company. I looked around the date of the first charge. I did a search through all emails, including spam. I had to find their company online. And when I went to them for cancelation, and I refund. I was offered the twenty five percent of the last month, and with much argument got them up to forty percent. Inwish I had read this prior to accepting the 40%. Because now I know I am not the only one, and that they are extremely predatory. they could not provide me with the date of the email confirmation, they indicated, I received and advised I was enrolled in a subscription nor would they give me an email? It would have come from. i did finally find an email from a completely unrelated company called testlibrary.com. Thank you for those of you who have posted previously about this company so that I could get to the bottom of this. DO NOT use this company.Stay away stay far far away.
Be extremely cautious with this…
Be extremely cautious with this company. I paid £1 for an online quiz, only to discover I had been quietly enrolled into a hidden £39.95 monthly subscription with terms buried in illegible text.
I requested a full cancellation and refund within the 14-day cooling-off window without ever accessing or using the account. Customer support initially refused a full refund, attempting to settle for 25%, and then 40%, claiming internal "company policy."
It was only after escalating the issue and threatening a formal bank chargeback that I received a resolution. Classic subscription trap tactics—avoid them at all costs.
Pure scam site
Charges you 1.95 at first and then sends an email with tiny tiny font at the very end of the email letting you know the service charges 39.95$ every four weeks. A total scam.
I saw an advert for MyTraitsProfile on Instagram
I saw an advert for MyTraitsProfile on Instagram offering a personality/ADHD type profile for £1.95. Nowhere in the quiz itself did it make clear that this would lead to a recurring £39.95 subscription charge. If that information was there, it was in text far too small to reasonably notice.
I received one confirmation email after paying, which did mention the subscription, but I hadn't opened it (easily done if you're not expecting a subscription in the first place). No further emails or reminders were sent before the £39.95 was taken.
I contacted their support (a rep called "Ella") within the 14 day cooling-off period that applies to online purchases under UK law (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). I was first offered a 25% refund, then 40%, with each reply claiming the terms had been "clearly disclosed at checkout" without ever showing where. It wasn't until I held firm, referenced the 14 day cooling-off right specifically by name, and asked them to provide evidence of disclosure, that they agreed to a full refund.
If this happens to you: you are entitled to a full refund within 14 days regardless of what their subscription terms say, this is a statutory right, not something a company can opt you out of by disclosing it after the fact. Don't accept a partial refund as a first offer. Ask them directly to show you where their terms were disclosed. If they don't refund in full, your bank can process a chargeback.
It looks like you send 3 push back emails before they give you a refund. Each time I said that if I didn't get a full refund I'd request a bank chargeback, report them to Trading Standards and Meta ads and leave bad reviews everywhere.
Here's the email I wrote first: Subject: Cancellation and refund request - Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally cancel my subscription and request a full refund of £[amount] charged to my account.
On [date you signed up], I completed a quiz on your platform and paid £[initial amount] to access a report. At no point during the quiz itself was I clearly informed that this would lead to a recurring subscription charge of £[subscription amount]. If this information was included anywhere, it was in text so small it was not reasonably visible or legible, and I do not consider this to meet the standard of clear and prominent disclosure required before a consumer agrees to pay.
I received [one email / no emails] from you [dated [date], if applicable], which mentioned the subscription terms. I received no further emails, reminders, or notifications before the £[subscription amount] payment was taken, including no notice immediately prior to the charge being applied.
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, I am entitled to a 14-day cooling-off period from the date the contract was entered into, during which I can cancel for any reason and receive a full refund. They are the worst
They are the worst! I cancelled a day late and they charged 40€!!! Scamming in the new age
Big scam
Don’t click on this. Total
Scam. They promise reports you will
Never get. They say 5 dollars trial
For three days and you get charged 28 dollars twice for two products and when you claim you receive that it’s clear that you get a pro for two profiles. I am
Still waiting for the first one. Scammmm
Again a scam
Again a scam, I did only one test with my friend and got my results by mail. Just to find out a month later they charges my card for a subscription I had never agreed to do!!!!! And the team is not answering me for my refund.
I’m only giving one star because that’s…
I’m only giving one star because that’s the minimum available option for leaving a review. I paid $1.95 for a one time report and I absolutely do not recall reading anything about that being my agreement for a $39.95/month subscription. And for a site I’d never even interacted with! DECEITFUL TO AN EXTREME EVEN GREATER THAN MOST SCAM APPS!! And, like other reviews mentioned, I cannot find a way to unsubscribe. Fortunately, I use a prepaid card for any purchase like this and I keep the card locked until ready to make a purchase; therefore, they haven’t managed to get $40 from me yet but NOT FOR LACK OF TRYING!!! I have MULTIPLE denied transactions daily (6-7). I’m probably going to have to replace my card which is just a hassle. I certainly hope a few people read these reviews BEFORE falling into the trap of these disgusting people, as opposed to finding out the truth AFTER they’ve joined this frustrated group of people who have been scammed!!
This is a scam company because they…
This is a scam company because they charge your bank under the name mytraitprofile.com, but the actual name of the site is not the same. It is different so you are not able to find it in your history because you were on another site. So, mytrait by proxy is charging while you are on a totally different site called IQtest.com and testtaking.com and we're never told it was a subscription. This happened to me and im disputing it again tomorrow. I took the test August 16, 2026... the 36. Charge to my bank showed the 1.99 right away, then a week later the 36 charge
All I did was take a test and it costed…
All I did was take a test and it costed like a dollar 95 and I paid for that and I didn't notice that in the writing somewhere that I am signed up for a trial subscription and I forget when I took that test I'd have to look at my checking account to see when they took the $1.95.
Then August 27th 2026 they charged me $39.95.
So I found where I can cancel the subscription which I did not sign up for.
And then I sent him an email saying I want a refund and they telling me I'm only getting 25% of it and there are just a bunch of liars and thieves
