Stupidly expensive for what it is…
Stupidly expensive for what it is really. They sell the camera for over £300 and that's what you get, literally just camera. For this price, to charge additional however much for subscription just to see how long your baby was asleep or how many times they woke up during the night is disgraceful.
Probably my fault, at the point of buying it I understood that basic 'insights' are included (they were, for 6 months only it turned out, after 6 months you have to pay extra which for this kind of price is ridiculous).
So for over £300 you're getting a camera, one that is working fine, sure, but just camera and there are so many cheaper options of equal quality for what it is.
I am so disappointed, if I knew this is the case with Nanit, I would never go for it. Waste of money, overpriced for at least £100.
Really not that bad
Really not that bad. Expensive for what it is, but it basically works, these 1 star reviews are a bit much. However. Software updates have enabled and then disable the ability to have audio on in the background, forcing you to use picture-in-picture, which is super annoying. Can’t override software updates, and they usually make things worse not better. Temperature measurement is pretty questionable. Activity tracker breaks, which is annoying since we’re paying for a subscription to that specifically. Camera plays a sound out loud when you turn off the breathing monitor, which wakes the kid, totally unnecessary, usually it just means WE are awake, not the kid! Who are we playing a sound for? Anyway, tldr Nanit is ~okay, not 1.2* star bad, not great.
I am a nanny
I am a nanny. I work with two different families who use it. It is nice to be able to see but it is not very clear. The timing is way off. For example it will tell me the baby has been sleep when she is very active and awake or way over estimates on the time she has been asleep. This does not look good to the parents. I don't appreciate how inaccurate the timing is. There are so many other cameras out there with better quality. In my opinion I would keep looking.

However, during setup, the final step is to activate the camera by signing up for a plan. There is no option to activate without a subscription. I had to call support and stay on hold for 40 minutes before talking to an associate who took another 20 minutes to get my device activated. In addition, he tried multiple times to sell me on an Insights Plan when I clearly told him I didn't want one.
The user flow was very deceptive and outright misleading forcing everyone to sign up for a premium plan unless they are willing to sit through a 45 minute phone call, find and read out serial numbers, and turn down repeated offers for upgrades.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - never received item
Placed a pre-order on Black Friday. I knew it would not be shipped until January. We received an email on January 8th stating it has been shipped. Since then, crickets and nothing has arrived with no other communication from them about it. I have emailed, messaged them on every platform I can think (fb, instagram, tiktok, etc.), and tried to call. You sit on hold for over 20 minutes, only to have the call disconnected. My baby is due in a week, and now I have no monitor. At this point, and after reading all of these comments, I am going to try to cancel the order because if the service is this bad before I even receive the item, I CANNOT image if I needed help with something that went wrong. It is far too expensive of a product for the service to be this terrible. Plus after I ordered, I did more research on the different monitors and I will likely end up getting Owlet instead. Probably should have opted for that in the first place.

Blank you with any technical issues, impossible to get hold of them. When it works it’s fine but then you’re basically just paying for a really really really expensive camera.
HORRIBLE optimization
HORRIBLE optimization. Horrible reliability stupid expensive product that makes you pay for a subscription service to even utilize it properly. What a terrible greedy company. I would work on a weekly basis to sure certain people never buy this product or ever give this company money.
Expensive for a buggy terrible experience
I have to reset the camera almost daily because it doesn't save the insights and there's no video history. The WHOLE reason I got such an expensive camera was for that. I could have used a $50 Kmart camera and had the same experience. My wifi is fine. It's wall mounted (literally professionally installed while the furniture was baby proofed), the cot is set up and approved by the app position thing... So why doesn't it work?????? I only notice to reset when I go to check something and realise there's nothing there. No way to get the feed back. I've tried contacting customer service and the form auto closes before I can submit it. I gave up. What a useless overpriced product. Just get a cheap camera.
Abysmal customer service
We really liked this camera, got it on sale and was very happy with the features.
However, we have recently had an issue with cancelling the subscription. We have tried to get through to customer services, so far completely without success.
Two emails which have to use their website automated form have been unanswered.
6 phone calls (trying all the options on the automated switchboard) have also been unanswered and/or timed out.
Totally unacceptable for a 'premium' product charging an expensive subscription. Taken my opinion of the product from excellent to dire. Avoid.
Cannot activate without subscription
Agree with others that 1 star is too much. You CANNOT set up the camera without inputing payment details and subscribing to an annual package. There is a FREE trial on startup but it is clearly just a scam to get you to subscribe and forget about it until they take the money from your account. Unbelievable that you cannot use the camera out of the box without subscribing, and if I had known this I would never have considered purchasing the product. Do yourself a favour and just buy a regular old school baby monitor for a quarter of the price of this garbage

“I had a terrible experience with Nanit. They promised delivery in five business days, but my order was delayed for more than 15 days. As a result, I was unable to receive the baby monitor in Brazil. Their customer service is extremely slow and unhelpful, taking an unreasonable amount of time to respond. This company is unreliable, dishonest with its delivery promises, and provides awful customer support. I strongly advise others to stay away from Nanit.

This is the most unreliable camera. Works maybe 30% of the time. Do NOT waste your money on this junk.

I really like the idea and product, it's great technology that has improved my life. Just wish the monthly subscription were lower since we already pay for the hardware.

1 star is too much!!! This company is a thief! No proper customer service and extortionate customer journey to install.
I installed our second Nanit on the weekend (given the first one's button got stuck)... and there was NO OPTION to proceed to using it without clicking on some form of subscription package. The packages did say there was a free trial - however Nanit took A$134.99 from my credit card!!!!! This is absurd. You make people spend an arm and a leg for the hardware and then you extort us for the software????? Ridiculous.
Please refund my Money - I DO NOT WANT ANY ADDITIONAL SUBSCRIPTION PACKAGES. I just want to watch my child using the hardware we paid for!!!

Customer service is disgusting and none existent!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!! For something that is so important to parents and children you should be utterly ashamed of yourselves for how unavailable you are. To charge so much money and deliver so little is appalling. Our camera doesn’t work, we can’t see our child. Can we get help? No. Have we emailed? Yes.. multiple times… have they been ignored? YES. Hundreds of pounds spent and I’ve never felt more ripped off

1 star is too much, camera didn’t work out of the box. Took 2 weeks to replace, tried to charge me for another subscription.
My wife and I bought a $40 monitor (Nanit was close to $400 all in) and it works fine. We will be selling our Nanit if their customer service won’t refund us.

We bought the camera and the travel stand because we travel a lot. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Every time we switch from one to another it does not recognise the wifi network. We tried everything to make it connect to the wifi. After a while it magically reconnects with no reason whatsoever as it had no reason not to reconnect. It is really a faulty product. Vacantions start with huge stress trying to connect to wifi.
