As soon as we entered the building, the staff greeted us, listened to what we needed, and directed us where to go. He let us test all of the mattresses in our budget, and stopped by several times to check that all was going well. We found a great mattress and were very impressed with a smooth shopping experience!

I had a very disappointing experience with this company.

I ordered two mattresses and was given a confirmed delivery window twice. On both occasions, I rearranged my schedule and stayed home waiting for the delivery. However, I wasn’t informed that one of the mattresses was out of stock until after the scheduled delivery time. The second time, the delivery team even arrived with only one mattress and told me the other was still unavailable.

The most frustrating part is that they continued to confirm delivery appointments without having the inventory and provided no advance notice. This happened twice.

Poor communication, poor inventory management, and a lack of accountability. I hope they improve their customer service so other customers don’t have the same experience.

I received exceptional customer service from Arnold, which in today’s world, is rare. Not only was he professional, cordial, polite and just very nice to deal with, but he was also extremely knowledgeable about both the mattress options and process (ie delivery, payment, warranty, refund, etc.). In addition, he was very attentive, providing me the quote, revisions and payment receipt extremely quickly. I would highly recommend National Mattress Canada solely on my interaction with him. EDITING TO ADD: Their response is BS, I entered the shipping postal code before I looked up mattresses and ONLY included the ones that showed as being able to ship to my location (many didn’t). Their customer service LOVES to gaslight.

I spent approximately six hours researching mattresses on this site, specifically selecting models that indicated they could ship to my postal code after I entered my delivery information. The website advertises shipping across Canada, and I chose one of the most expensive mattresses available on the site based on the information provided.

The site continued to behave as though delivery was available: it accepted my postal code, displayed shipping options and an estimated delivery date, and even requested delivery address information during checkout. It was only at the final payment stage through apple pay, immediately before completing the purchase, that I discovered the mattress was actually pickup only.

This was an enormous waste of time and a deeply frustrating customer experience. For a large, expensive item like a mattress, delivery availability is not a minor detail — it is a fundamental part of whether the purchase is possible.

I contacted the company to express my frustration and to give them an opportunity to address the issue. Unfortunately, they took no responsibility for the misleading checkout experience.

Their phone customer service lacked any knowledge whatsoever and was terribly unclear as well. He couldn’t even answer whether they ship across Canada, rambling about how they did in the past and then they stopped and he has no idea now.

I would be cautious about trusting the information they provide, and would think twice before making such a significant purchase from a company that doesn’t stand behind their own policies as advertised. Better I learned it now versus having to make a claim on their satisfaction guarantee and finding out I was stuck with a $4000 mattress and a company that doesn’t know what they’re doing.

What a waste!

Misleading Name, Fake Policies, Terrible Customer Service Do not trust National Mattress. They heavily marketed "Canada-Wide Shipping" and promised free shipping across Canada for orders over $199. However, they changed their policy overnight, added a massive $119 delivery fee to an item already sitting in my cart, and completely refused to honour their own published terms. When confronted, customer service blamed a "promotion ending," but the reality is they have quietly stopped servicing Canada nationally and now focus almost exclusively on the GTA. Their name is completely misleading to fellow Canadians looking to buy Canadian-made products. Shop elsewhere with a company that actually values honesty and customer service.

I have similar issue with misrepresentation. Tried to buy some items and at the end of the process the system said couldn’t deliver to my area (3rd largest city in Canada). They suggested I input my postal code and their system would filter what I could actually buy despite them saying they ship everything they sell nationally. But in my original query I sent a screen shot with my address inputted and the bed I wanted showing available. Unfortunatley that was a little too complicated for them to grasp and I had to abort the discussion entirely. I wouldn’t do any business with them unless I could go to their store to fix their mistakes. They are cheap but it’s for a reason.

We placed an order for a queen mattress and a matching boxspring through National Mattresses. However, they delivered only the mattress and not the boxspring. When I asked about the missing boxspring, which was clearly listed on the invoice (Order no: order #000313693) they claimed that it does not come with one (lie). I explained that I had compared prices across multiple vendors and chose them specifically because the order included a boxspring.

Unfortunately, National Mattresses proved to be unreliable. What they advertise on their website does not match what they deliver, and they were not truthful about what was included in the invoice. They made promises they did not fulfill.

They deliver only the Mattresses not the Matching BoxSpring mentioned in the invoice.

I highly recommend choosing a different vendor, as National Mattresses is not trustworthy. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Do NOT buy anything from National Mattress !!!

You will lose your hard-earned money.

They claim “hassle-free support” — but in reality, it’s a scam. I received a product that was misrepresented, and once it’s opened, they hide behind a no-return, no-exchange policy that they never disclosed upfront.

They also make you sign a delivery form, then twist it to say you accepted the product “in satisfactory condition” — before you even open the box.

This company is dishonest, deceptive, and operates with zero accountability.
Hundreds of others have reported similar issues.

Avoid National Mattress at all costs. Don’t be their next victim!!!

I placed an order through National Mattress Canada’s website, only to have it cancelled without any explanation. When I followed up, I was told the mattress I ordered couldn’t be delivered due to a system glitch. I chose a different mattress, placed a new order—and again, it was cancelled two days later with no notice or reason.

After reaching out once more, I was told my credit card was flagged as fraudulent and advised to use another one. Against my better judgment, I tried a second card. Two days later—cancelled again.

I was then told I needed to use Google Pay or PayPal because of the “high volume of fraud” they apparently receive (really? On mattresses?). I reluctantly tried PayPal in a final attempt, and—unsurprisingly—that order was also cancelled.

This process wasted days of my time, tied up my money with no immediate refunds, and left me with zero trust in this company. Unprofessional, misleading, and in my opinion, borderline scam behavior. Avoid at all costs.

I have always loathed shopping for a mattress but I'm truly delighted with National Mattress. The selection and purchase experience were outstanding. The combined warehouse showroom allowed us to compare a huge number of mattresses quickly. The info packet for each of the mattresses was exceptionally helpful. There was zero pressure from staff who nonetheless proved to be knowledgeable and helpful once we had narrowed the field to a few candidates and, of course, the prices were generally excellent. The working warehouse environment and plastic sealing on every mattress may not be to everyone’s taste but everything was clean and so well organized that it made the selection process very easy even though the number of choices seemed overwhelming when we first arrived. The mattress was delivered on the appointed day, in the middle of the two-hour window provided the evening before. All-in-all, this was a great purchasing experience.
