Issues resolved quickly, product working fine again. thanks

Bought FL10 and USB Secure. Both the products are user friendly. In folder lock I am able to sync my to the cloud and access the files from my phone as well.

I have had two issues with Folder Lock since 2018, both of which have been promptly rectified. In 2018 I needed to register and could not find my serial number or registration key - these were emailed to me. More recently in 2025 I reinstalled Windows and discovered that version 7.9.0 that I had been using was no longer available on the website. I was quite angry about this initially, but when I contacted customer support (Michelle) she sent me a link to download version 7.9.0. Very happy with the customer service.

I bought Folder Lock 7 license in july 2024 but then I started having issues with the software and Michelle told me that they would have fixed it with next version release. Well, the next version was NEVER released. Actually, they abandoned v7 and released v10 for which my license is invalid as they now adopted an annual subscription policy. Long story short: my software doesn't work, I paid for a license, and I can't use the next release unless I pay AGAIN and for an annual subscription. Dishonest! Stay away from this company!

I also have tried to reinstall FolderLock on my new PC, but the Software is not accepting licence key ("may be old or invalid" but it is valid! I have payed for it.
The website and Program"help"does not help in any way. They justb seem to want to sell another licene to me.
This is terrible customerhostibility!

Are these real software programs ?I’ve tried a few times without as much as an (open here),The word “SCAM” seems to be more accurate ,

I have tried to reinstall FolderLock on new PC, but Software is not accepting licence key.

Online on the website there are ZERO FAQ about Folder Lock and SW guidlines contain ZERO indications about how to proceed.

I purchase two products Folder Lock and USB Secure on Aug 11, 2023.

1. Lock Folders Option - When I drag folders into it or add folders into this, the folders still are visible in the windows explorer. This is a major bug, as the previous version 7.8.9 did not have such issues.

2. While the website says, the lockers created are undeletable, it can easily be deleted in the windows explorer, just clicking the delete button on the keyboard. This is a false claim.

3. I also purchase USB secure to lock the contents of my external/flash drives. It asks for a password to lock/unlock folders in the drive. The issue is anyone having access to the external drive/flash drive can simply delete the USB secure app that gets installed in the drive, making the data unavailable.

In short, both the products Folder Lock and USB secure are not doing their basic functions and hence I am completely dissatisfied with the products.

I caution everyone not to purchase these products, especially with such basic bugs.

SCAMMERS !!! locked my entire external drive with the trial version and couldn't unlock it at all. After two tries the trial was over and I would have to pay these a**holes to unlock it. (apparently it doesn't even work)

Contacted their support and the ONLY thing they tell me is that they need to "connect to my computer" in order to help me... These guys are as far from legit as possible and I will NEVER allow them access to my entire PC. Doesn't even make sense why they would need to.

Thankfully it seems easy to get access to your files again since they're not even encrypted. It's possible to add the blank jibberish files to an .rar or zip archive on another disk, then u can access your files again. (good security btw)

It's so transparent that they wrote all the positive 5/5 reviews on cnet themselves. They're all so similiar

It's a TERRIFYING experience when your data is locked and will not unlock despite you having the correct password and no one will assist you for weeks.

This company has ONE customer service agent who works from MIDNIGHT to 8 am, PST, via SKYPE.

I'll say that again.

If it wasn't for BMT micro, the payment processor, I sincerely doubt this person, "Michelle Rossevelt" would have ever responded to me.

A huge amount of data was encrypted and would not unlock. It took 2 weeks to get them to help me, and only after intervention by BMT Micro.

This company claims to have an Oregon address but they are not listed on the Oregon Secretary of State Corporation Division and the business address is not found. Check for yourself at the state website.

Now do a search of the business address on Google Maps. 9450 SW Gemini Dr., ECM# 37715 Beaverton, Oregon. It says PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

Is this the kind of software business you want to use for encrypting your data?

I downloaded the USB block and without me locking anything it locked both the USB and a hard drive partition.
Soon after that I don't even get into my PC, not even with help from Microsoft, trying to reinstall Windows!!

Avoid This Company!
I purchased a Key 01/05/2022 and registered the product with no issues, the very next day I went to log in again and it told me my Key was no longer valid. I've emailed them twice with ZERO response. Further investigation on Google shows that their software is a prime target for keygen and cracking software, NOT something you expect to deal with after shelling out 40$ for a program!

Bought the product, every thing was fine, until i bought me a new Computer (build it with a friend of mine), every thing was new except the graphic card.

So new Windows key, new hardware what could go wrong, weeeel, seems like once you activate Folder Lock it sends the data of your PC back to the company, and the key you bought is now locked to that hardware and/or Windows. (Presume this is correct)

A single Folder Lock user-license is valid for only 1 (one) PC. In a nutshell, It will work on a single PC. Folder Lock switches to trial mode, under the following circumstances:
If a user installs a new windows user license or an already registered Folder Lock key; he or she makes changes/upgrades the hardware on his/her PC e.g. new motherboard harddrive etc; logs in from another windows user account and sometimes even your anti-virus can prevent license registration, restricting communication with our servers.

So what when i then add a new Harddrive, upgrading my Graphic Cards, or have to reinstall Windows (same windows licence but still)... what then :(

So basically, you cant do much if you decide to buy some new hardware, and bought a Folder Lock key just a month or so before, well in my case they >> did << give me a new key.

I would suggest that they do upgrade the info on their page, no where did they write that new hardware or windows etc can break the key :(

They charged me for an app that I purchased on the Apple app store (Folder Lock Pro) that does not work on iOS 14.5. Support is awful - non-existent

I tried to use the feature "Protect USB" Protect Email Attachment feature. I select multiple files and finish the process. The folder it creates is empty, no files. So I asked them via email why and sent screenshots of each step so they could see if I made a mistake.
They reply, "Can you please provide me with more specific details? "
I reply, "What possible other details can I provide? I have given you screen shots of every step I took, and I show you that in the end the folder says it is empty. Did I do anything wrong? Can you send me a document with the step-by-step instructions?

They do not answer any of my questions but did send me the steps. I replied, "I sent screen shots of what I did that show this is exactly what I did.
Please answer these 2 questions: Did you look at the screen shots I sent? Does it appear I missed a step?"

There answer, "Please discuss your quesion # 2 with us??
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

I truly believe they are just trying to frustrate me until I give up. They have my money. Did they look at the screenshots, did I do something wrong? The questions are not complicated.

Stay away from this Company and their products!!!! Once your information is locked, the app crashes and you will never see it again!!!!! Heed the warnings! No customer service! No response to issues!!! Worse than a scam - you lose everything and no way to recover!!!!

Purchased the application but never received the registration information even after numerous attempts to contact the company. Forget the glowing trade reviews as this company appears to be a scam.

I downloaded the free version for windows and after about three minutes, while my folders were locked, it terminated the free trial and kept the folders locked. When I deleted it and reinstalled the application it then wouldnt let me put my password in. A complete joke on behalf of anyone who works for them

After a Windows update my Folder Lock acted like it had never been used before. I could not even find my locked folder to unlock them. I've emailed customer service using their web page contact form and have yet to receive a reply after about a week. Not even an acknowledgement that they received my service request. They used to be very responsive but it's like no one even works there anymore. I found how to recover my files on the web and I won't use my Folder Lock again.
