The Nextbase Piqo Quick Connect Cable offers a plug-and-play solution to power your Dash Cam. It connects to any vehicle's OBD port, ensuring a permanent live connection with built-in vehicle battery protection. Once connected you can enable Smart Parking.
The cable is 0.7m (2.3ft) in length and will work with both 12-volt and 24-volt vehicles.

The quick connect cable was exceptionally easy to install in my Nissan Leaf, except, of course, for the usual problem of tucking the cable away round screen and door. Anyone looking to buy this should bear in mind that if you use this cable, the camera is always on.. If you want to have the camera go off and on with the car's main circuits, you should use an alternative cable which plugs in to a switched circuit in the fuse box. That was easy on my previous Ford BMax but I need to get a Nissan technician to do it on my Leaf. Its working fine with this cable for now.

The item promoted as the ideal alternative to battery hard wiring. If like me your car is parked on a busy road but not used a lot. The drain on the battery is enormous and several times I've had to jump start the car. You might reply oh it's the battery. What the RAC thought charging me £180 for a new one for it only to be flat a couple of weeks later. Called RAC about faulty battery supplied after testing the battery is fine. It's the link causing the problem because I'm on such a busy road. Maybe these work if your not, but for me sadly it's useless. Too late to return along with the camera.

The Piqo keeps turning off and the only way to restart it is to pull the OBD plug out and put it back in. Seems incompatible with Golf and Mini.
