Nick Maycock performed the cataract surgery on both my eyes, the first in January, the second in April.
On both occasions I was put completely at ease by Nick as he explained the procedure both prior to and during the surgery. I had every confidence in ability. I think it is also worth noting that the team supporting Nick on both occasions appeared relaxed and happy to be working with him.

Mr Maycock explained the procedure carefully beforehand and allayed my concerns about taking a flight two weeks after the operation.
Mr Maycock helped me to direct my eye in a direction that made the operation simpler. The operation went very smoothly and I am pleased with the result.

Mr Maycock carried out my two cataract operations. On both occasions he was welcoming, very easy to talk to and very happy to answer questions both about the surgery and the recovery period. I felt very much at ease with him carrying out the surgery.
Before and during surgery he explained what was happening and showed every concern for my comfort. I am very pleased with how the surgery went, with the results and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

Having cataract surgery is an common, but scary prospect. Nick Maycock recently removed cataracts from both my eyes. I was impressed with his detailed explanations, concerning what I would experience in theatre, before the procedure. These and his comments during the surgery were very reassuring.

The whole experience was made better because I was told what was happening at all times and the operation was painless.

I have had a cataract operation on both eyes. Both operations were performed by Mr Nick Maycock (18 January and 21 February). Mr Maycock was pleasant and approachable, as well as very patient in answering questions. He carefully explained the procedure beforehand and also explained, during the operation, what was happening. I was very anxious, but his explanations helped me to relax.
In fact, everyone at SpaMedica was very kind and friendly.
After each operation Mr Maycock said that "all had gone well", which was really reassuring.
Just two days after the second operation I can see so well - better than I have been able to do for many years! And the colours of everything seem so bright. The operations were totally painless and I have had no pain at all in my eyes.

I had my first Cataract operation done on 15th Dec and the other on 1st Feb, carried out by Nick Maycock. I can honestly say both experiences were amazing! He was kind, gentle, informative, and put me completely at ease through the procedure.

Mr Maycock has now replaced the cataracts in both my eyes. He was, on each occasion, highly professional, extremely thorough and very approachable. I am a retired paediatrician, but it was very helpful that he carefully explained the procedure, encouraged questions about any concerns I might have and was kind and polite. He calmly commented and gently reassured me throughout the surgery.
I have waited until my second week after the second operation to see how my eye has progressed. All is going well. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Maycock to anyone wishing to have this operation.

Had my second cataract operation with Nick Maycock today. Obviously, one feels a little apprehensive, but Nick has a very kind and professional approach that helps put you at ease. First eye transformed my vision, second eye still has shield on, but I can already see that all is good.
