Two months to get a repair booked. Every fix came by phone, never by email.
I want to be clear about what this review is and is not. NOMOS make beautiful watches and the watchmaking here was fine. What follows is about everything that surrounds the watchmaking, and that part was, frankly, exhausting. Sixty-two days from paying to dispatch. Forty days without my watch. Five separate points where their systems failed. And not one of those failures was resolved through a written channel. Every single fix came because I picked up the phone and called Germany. For a brand at this price point, being left to chase your own order for weeks is not what you expect, and it wore me down in a way a simple repair delay never would have.
Here is what happened.
I ordered a complete repair for my Ahoi (Ref. 550) plus a strap and strap tool through the online service portal on 21 May 2026. €519 was charged to my card. The site never produced an order confirmation screen, no order number, and no confirmation email. From my side, the order simply did not exist. I had paid €519 into a void.
I emailed their service address the same day. Nothing. I tried the website chat on 2 June. Nothing. Three weeks of complete silence while a mid-three-figure sum sat unaccounted for. That silence is the part that really got to me. Not the waiting itself, but not knowing whether anyone at the company was aware I existed.
Eventually I filed a chargeback with my bank, because I had paid €519 and had no evidence of any order at all.
Then I called them. On that one call the order was found within minutes, apologised for, and service instructions issued. It had been sitting in their system the entire time.
What followed was more of the same. Two payment links failed with an incorrect-expiry error despite correct card details, each failed attempt killing the link. I twice stated in writing that I would be travelling and could not receive the watch. It was dispatched anyway, arriving during precisely the window I had flagged. Being ignored once is an error. Being ignored twice on the same point, in writing, is a system that does not read what customers send it.
To be fair, and I mean this: the phone line is genuinely good. Susann in the service team was helpful, patient and apologetic every time. The watch reached Glashütte safely and the repair came back well inside the quoted eight weeks. None of this is the watchmakers' fault.
The problem is everything around them. Order confirmations that never generate. Receipts that never arrive. Email and chat that go unanswered for weeks. Payment links that fail repeatedly. Written instructions that never reach the dispatch team.
If you send a watch to NOMOS, budget for the admin, not the repair, and call rather than write. That is the only thing that worked.
Two stars.
