If you are considering using this business, I advise proceeding with caution. In my experience, it did not fulfil claims made on its website and in its marketing material.
Let me explain:

I attach a copy of your marketing leaflet that was provided to me when the owner of the business first visited my property on 29th July 2026. I note the leaflet and thewebsite state ‘We conduct through inspections to identify the root cause of the damp problem, providing you with a detailed report and tailored treatment plan’. To date I have not seen a copy of the detailed plan. I was verbally advised I needed a new Damp Proof injecting, the work was carried out over 2 days, the business used materials that cost circa £700 and charged me £3750.
After heavy rain on 29 July, I noticed water entering the property and contacted Damp Proofing North West. The owner revisited and said this was a new problem for which he would provide a separate quote. I later established that the damp-proof injection had not been necessary; installing an external French drain resolved the issue. The business failed to investigate thoroughly, identify the root cause, or recommend appropriate work, and instead carried out work that proved unnecessary and unsuitable.

The website and marketing information states you provide ‘a 30-year Guarantee’. To date I have received the partly completed Certificate of Guarantee. For a Guarantee to be effective for 30 years I would expect a formal Insurance based Guarantee, this is necessary in case you cease to trade. Can you advise when I will receive the full Guarantee Documentation. Once the business ceases to trade for whatever reason the Guarantee would be null and void which could occur within the next 30 years. Thus, the paper provided is of little value and does not fulfil the statements made above.

Given my experience I would not recommend this business as they are very expensive and unfortunately fall sort of the claims made on their website and marketing material.

I highly recommend North West Damp Proofing. My home buyers survey suggested the property I was purchasing had several areas of damp so I decided to have a specific damp survey done. Dave was excellent; very responsive and happy to explain things in detail (including answering my daft questions)! The work was completed two weeks after moving in to a very high standard. The entire team - damp proofer, plumber, plasterer and joiner were lovely, very hard working and respectful of me and my home. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dave and his team of damp busters! After my buyer’s surveyor reported possible damp issues using a damp meter without pins, I decided to get an independent damp proof survey carried out for peace of mind. I’m very glad I did. Daniel, the surveyor I used was extremely professional and clearly explained how older non-invasive scanners can sometimes give misleading readings, especially on certain wall finishes and older properties.

He carried out an inspection using a pin-type moisture meter and found no evidence of damp at all. The survey was honest, detailed, and reassuring, with no attempt to exaggerate issues or push unnecessary work. It was clear he knew exactly what he was talking about and took the time to explain the results properly.

I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing an accurate and trustworthy damp inspection.

I paid for a pre-purchase damp survey expecting a professional and accurate assessment of the property. Unfortunately, the survey completely failed to identify the true extent and severity of the damp issues present in the house.

The report specifically stated there was no evidence of rising damp and simply recommended improving ventilation. However, once I moved into the property, it quickly became apparent that the house was suffering from significant damp and mould problems throughout. The condition of the property was far worse than what was outlined in the survey.

After raising my concerns, communication from the company was extremely poor and my complaints were not handled professionally. I later arranged for another inspection by NWDP, who confirmed that the entire downstairs required damp proofing work — something that should have been identified during the original survey by them.

I feel the survey was misleading and did not provide an honest or accurate reflection of the property's condition or the likely repair costs involved. For anyone relying on a pre-purchase damp survey to make an informed decision, I would strongly advise caution

Dave and his team are highly recommended! Dave was communicative, helpful in explaining the process. He and his team did my flooring, provided a PIV, and extractor fans, altogether, this has improved indoor air circulation and the flooring is done to a top notch quality.

My experience with North West Damp Proofing was great from start to finish. I got a damp surgery done and Dave talked me through everything and helped me to negotiate the price of my house purchase down by explaining everything really clearly and advising me. The work was done promptly by Mason and the team of plummers and joiners, who took off my radiators/shelves/etc and put it all back on, the whole team were lovely and respectful of me and my home and did the work to a really high standard. Couldn't be happier. Highly recommend. Thanks guys!

David and his team were nothing short of excellent ! They did a fantastic job - the communication with David who co-ordinates everything has been very pleasant as David is a great communicator and understands his customers ‘s needs . I really trusted him and that trust paid off as everything that was promised was indeed delivered with great work ethic and dedication to detail . I am very grateful as I now I own my own place that is all professionally damp proofed !

David and the whole NW Damp team have been exemplary to work with from start to finish, from a pre-purchase damp survey through to damp proofing the house after purchase. They took on every aspect and the work and finish is of a really high quality. Each element, electrics, plumbing, damp proofing, carpentry and plastering, they’ve taken care of it all. Communication is top notch and no niggle is too small for them to sort out.

David came round promptly after contacting NWDP as a result of an issue being flagged in a survey. We needed work doing quickly to push the house sale through. The team were great and did everything as promised. Good plaster work and joinery too to finish job off.

David and the team were excellent from start to finish. They carried out a full damp proof survey and then completed a full damp proofing course based on the findings. Everyone was professional, efficient, and very respectful of our home throughout the work.
Our damp issues have now been fully resolved, and the plastering finish was perfect. David was also extremely helpful and flexible when we needed a few last-minute changes, and he always took the time to answer any questions we had.
Highly recommended to anyone needing damp proofing work.

Got a quote from Dave for a PIV unit. He advised I could get the problem fixed with a regular fan and save some money. Thanks for the advice

We had requested wall ties and whilst working a safety issue was identified the team were eager to complete the job to a safe and high standard and explained everything very well throughout the way. Once complete the work was efficient and to a very high standard. No concerns with work or the team.

Dave came out to us very quickly responding to a potential issue & worked very efficiently.

I was delighted to work with David from Northwest Damp Proofing on our project. David and his team were very attentive to our needs and professional thoughout the job. We had particular concerns due the scale of the work needed and an elderly relative living in the property, but the team was very responsive and courteous.
