I would not recommend anyone go to this college. This college is absolutely a disgrace and the learning is absolutely poor. They say you’re going to do construction next minute you’re not the staff members are poor as well and do not let them manipulate you. They say that we will give you the money back for the bus But they don’t they use it in vouchers. this place is absolutely horrendous
I wouldn’t recommend any child going to nova I had a experience at the nova oldbury also at the nova at nether Ron the learning is poor the staff are so rude and can’t handle the students I would recommend students to juniper training I would highly recommend parents to keep track of there Childrens progress. The teaching is very poor at nova and the staff are not very nice.
I went to Nova training in Willenhall because i dropped out of my course in college due to not really taking interest in it. I went there for about 4 months, to study what they called a 'pre apprenticeship' programme in Motor Merchanics. I already passed my GCSE's in Maths and English but they kept on insisting on me attending these functional skills lessions in which covers content i remember learning for my year 6 sats let alone gcses. After a while i refused to go and they finally got the memo. They were wasting my time all throughout as a massive tickboxing exersise and i was barely able to do what i wanted to do without constantly pushing it. I eventually ended up on a two week trial for an apprenticeship but that was a story within itself about eurofit.
The teachers there were rather hit and miss proffesionally. Some of them were great. A lot were not, i once saw an arguement between the two whilst i was there (at bushbury btw) and when i started there i had a video call with lots other students and it was ended by this teacher shouting down the mic at one student asking if she can go because she has work.
Overall as a company, they rarely have your best interests at mind only so they can pressure you to sign things and they can tick boxes doing so. Not all staff were bad to give them credit. But still its much best to avoid.
Also they still owe me £50 they promised me last year.
I would even give the star if i could. The worst place to do any kind of training, courses or apprenticeships. The managers and assessors are very unhelpful and they don’t know what they are doing. I called the company head office to complain a few times and they told me I will get a back after speaking to the CEO, total NONSENSE!!! My apprenticeship was from September 22 to 23 and we are now in 2024 and still the apprenticeship Crap is going on I haven’t had any updates on the EPA and the certification I should get for the Lean Manufacturing Course. I would advise everyone not to take on any courses here ever. Nova training in Dudley/ Wolverhampton 👎🏼
S H I T! They owe me hundreds in bursary payments firstly and getting close to a years worth of payments they owe me. As a single parent family with little money my child is suffering because they can’t do their job!
Never any staff to teach the kids either.
Couldn’t run a pisss up in a brewery
Nova traing is very poor if your child is on a EHCP.
They favor their staff ,
Jill in particular is abrupt,
Anna the manager is not considering the needs of students ehcp . Bullying is very bad the only decent staff is mila and the manager of clacton Sam. It is disorganised, students who need extra support don't get it . They favourite staff and certain pupils I wouldn't recommend this colchester nova traing to anyone
Bushbury nova The place is OK, shame about certain staff members. One lady in particular, her attitude is appalling and talks to people like rubbish wont take.long for people to work out who, as shes well above her station. I have never known anyone so derogatory and vile, she doesn't deserve to work with young adults, none of them like or respect her anyway I will be making a formal complaint she is disgusting I've been asked ny nova to remove her full name as there onviously trying to hide there appauling staff but it begins with b and ends in l she certainly gives nova a bad name, nova also tries to get all negative ratings removed.
Avoid Bloxwich Nova. My son has special needs and struggled with college so it was suggested he went to nova as it was a smaller, quieter environment for him.
They said they could provide for his needs ect and was offered a placement. His EHCP funding was sent over straight away. A month after receiving the funding he still had no start date. When I called, they made out they hadn’t received the funding. So had to get it reconfirmed it had been sent weeks ago. A week later he was invited to go in and sign up officially and was given an assessment and start date for the following week. A couple of days before he was due to start they called to cancel his start date due to illness. Said they would be in touch with a new start date soon. Two weeks later and still no start date so called to see what was happening. Apparently they were waiting on their sen department to authorise a new start date and would get in-touch when they get one. Two more weeks go by so called again. Apparently the timing was unlucky and the two people who could authorise it in the sen department were on annual leave. But not to worry they will chase it up as soon as they were back. Another two weeks go by. Still no start date still waiting on sen department to authorise it, promised me she is keeping on top of it and chasing it, even tho it doesn’t seem like it. My son had to pop back to his secondary school this week to collect his certificates and his head of year asked how he was getting on. Explained how we was still waiting on a start date so she said she would chase it up for me. Received an e-mails from head of year the next day saying Nova hasn’t accepted him! Been calling and leaving messages at Nova for an explanation and still no one has got back in touch with me! Surely this should be counted as fraud. Falsely saying they will accept him and provide for his needs to basically get his hands on his EHCP funding. Now had to get authorities involved to sort it. Nova told them that there’s been a miscommunication between their staff members. According to Nova he was offered a place prior to having his interview by one staff member but then was declined a place after doing his interview with another staff member. Which is funny as we have only ever corresponded with one person from Nova, plus he’s never had an interview, unless it was when he went in to officially sign up. The company just seems to lie through its teeth! Best to avoid!
They say they will get you into an apprenticeship or job but only a few people actually get anywhere with them. They make you do placements (work experience) with companies and tell you it might lead to a proper job, but it never does because nova ends it early before you have chance to progress . Nova also says they’ll get you maths and English functional skills qualifications (something different to GCSEs in case you didn’t know) and ICT if you wanted but it rarely ever happened. I did manage to pass the English but with the maths they kept saying I was ready when I wasn’t, so I’d sit the “exam” (if you could even call it that) and fail. One time when I was doing it the same woman that ended the placements came up behind me and pretty much pressured me into giving up so I’d fail again. The teaching was awful and we always had to do random babyish activities or stuff that was completely unrelated to maths and English. It once took a dizzy woman that worked there 45 minutes to start a lesson (again, if you can even call it that) because all the chav people kept playing up and they had 0 control over anything. I can’t even remember everything bad that happened because there’s too much. There’s barely any outdoor space. People would come and go as they pleased but they wouldn’t let me leave so I applied for college so they had no choice but to let me go. Almost everyone else that was there at the time also went to college to get out of it. It’s not a nice place to get into whatsoever and it will get you nowhere. Complete hell of a year I spent there. Avoid at all costs!
Full of empty promises,Low operating standards, leaders who dont follow up, No welfare follow up, no urgency, lack of process to get things done, constantly have to chase to get results, do not really care about the individuals needs, even though they come over as they do pointless reviews on progress as just a ticking excercise.
Nova Training was a waste of time for my sons who did not benefit in anyway to get them into the workplace.
Promised work experience and apprenticeship opportunities delivered nothing.
Nova challenged these comments with trustpilot as they know its fact .Thank you Trustpilot for agreeing these true comments were not abusive but a fair description of what was experienced.
As i have checked my feedback a year on, and no response from them,as they know how much of an issue they have and the lack of professional operations they have.
They say they want whats best for u and will support you through everything but the moment you reach out for help they shove you off an ignore you.
They set you up to fail
They're in it for the money an thats it
They don't care for the students
I applied to Nova Training for employment as a progression officer (later called an Induction Placement Officer!). The company get government funds to operate as a private training provider. Employment is difficult to find so I could not allow some of these matters to deter me from accepting an interview and going through the process. The website was the first red flag. It looks unprofessional and is replete with dead links and even a "ticker". On arriving for interview at one of their Norfolk branches I noticed the office and training room seemed dingy. For a role that offered a salary of £26000 I was surprised by the poor conditions. I was asked to return for a trial presentation to learners and to have some basic skills tests. On the day I was told by an employee that the network was slow. The workstation I used took about 10 minutes to boot up. After having spent many hours, and travelling over 50 miles in total, I was rejected for the job because Nova Training "decided to move forward with a candidate whose qualifications better [met their] needs." If that was the case why was I invited to interview? It should have been possible to eliminate me from the process by a simple comparison of CVs. I asked what qualification the successful candidate had but was told GDPR applied. It was neither a transparent or rational process in my opinion. I believe that an internal applicant was hired.
