One of the worst customer experiences I've EVER had. They want you to self service, so I pay $150 and get the ball rolling. 2 Months later still not registered. They won't email me back and I've paid them. Whoever runs onboarding and CS needs to be chopped.

I found Numeral after a disastrous rollout with Avalara. Avalara completely botched our entire setup, and Numeral was nothing but attentive in working with us. They are a newer company, so they're still gaining their stride. Their AI customer service bot rollout disconnected me with our support team for a few days, but we eventually got that all resolved, and they have gone above and beyond for us ever since then.

I’ve been using Numeral for nearly a year, and it’s been a huge time saver. After managing sales tax myself for over eight years, the workload had grown to the point where handling corporate tax, sales tax, HST, and more was almost a full-time job. What used to take 20+ hours each month now takes me less than an hour.

The platform is intuitive and easy to use, and their customer support has been consistently responsive and helpful.

We have been using Numeral for just over a year now and our experience has been great! The person who onboarded us stayed in touch during the transit from our old sales tax filing system until Numeral fully took over- ensuring it all went smoothly. Communication was fast when getting Numeral access to all state portals to remit on our behalf as well as make any changes. When emailing support, the first 9/10 months- responses were very quickly given back to myself with action/ next steps. The last few months responses have been slower but our inquiries are still being handled. Numeral has taken a huge work load off my plate and I love how our bank is connected to the state directly so we are not paying a middle man to pay our taxes- we can see how much we are paying each state each month/ quarter very easily! Highly recommend Numeral for your sales tax needs!

Great experience so far! It's nice to not have to worry about figuring out taxes in all the different states. The team has been easy to work with and helpful. I'd recommend to any business in growth mode.

Iniitally when I started working with them it was just chaos. No organization or deadlines being met. But it seems like there has been a large improvement in their customer service department and actually getting things done in a timely manner. Hope thing will only continue to improve from here.

Cold calls to employees personal phones is never the best way to earn business.

If you choose to use numeral for sales tax filing, think about how much authority you are giving them and how difficult it will be to take that authority away. They create accounts in your name, creating liability for you, but every state filing account login requires a confirmation code sent to an email that Numeral controls. They also take over the receipt of your mail so even if things are going poorly, you have no awareness of the situation. Unraveling all of that control is extremely difficult when customer service agents respond once every three days.

By far my favorite sales tax solution. Selling on shopify into many states is a pain when it comes to taxes. I dont have the skillset nor do i want to develop it. id much rather pay numeral to handle it for me. all i have to do is approve the filings each month and im done. the time saved is worth the expense. ive used the other services too they dont handle things like numeral does.

We've been using Numeral for 6 months now and couldn't be more pleased. The onboarding process really stood out - they set realistic expectations from day one and got us up and running quickly without any of the usual implementation headaches.

What impressed me most was how they've consistently delivered on everything promised during setup. It's truly an "out of sight, out of mind" solution - everything just works seamlessly in the background without us having to think about it.

I've since recommended the platform to several other brands in our network, and they've all reported the exact same positive experience. It's refreshing to find a service that delivers this level of consistency across different businesses.

Numeral is the most irresponsible and misleading service I have ever paid for.

I paid for twelve months believing my registrations were handled and my tax liabilities were being managed. That is the entire reason you hire a company like this. Instead I was left exposed. Key registrations were not completed, my compliance status was not what I was led to believe, and I received no clear notification that anything was incomplete. No proactive outreach. No urgent warning. No accountability. Just silence while the subscription kept billing.

This is not a minor inconvenience. This is the kind of failure that can create real penalties and real risk for a business. If your business depends on staying compliant, you cannot afford a vendor that takes your money and then leaves you to discover gaps on your own.

Numeral did not deliver the core service I paid for, and the lack of communication makes it worse. I asked for escalation and a refund because I should not be paying for months of coverage that did not actually exist. Avoid this company unless you want to babysit your compliance and double check everything yourself.

Support is very slow at answering emails.

Many taxes are filed late or completely incorrect. This leads to emails from tax authorities and delinquency notices.

I have received very poor assistance with Numeral and they take ages to respond to any inquires I have had.

The penalties of backfiling also seems to have been filed incorrectly and has been a hassle to even get a response from the support team.

For the sake of transparency and clear conscience, I have left my previous review below. My time sensitive issues have been now resolved, and I am genuinely thankful for Carlos's help. I have been assured that Numeral will be improving their customer support to better assist it's clients in the near future. Although I can not guarantee you will receive the same level of support I received after leaving my review, I'm hopeful that Numeral will use this as a opportunity to learn and improve their customer support systems.

Numeral has been consistently incompetent when it comes to support.

They repeatedly file our local state sales tax incorrectly, which has resulted in ongoing emails from tax authorities, delinquency notices, and constant cleanup on our end. This is not a one-off issue—it has been happening for months.

We’ve had support tickets open since November 16, and despite repeated follow-ups, there has been no meaningful resolution. Communication is sparse and vague: every few weeks we receive a short message saying they’ll “follow up in a few days.” They never do.

Aside from automated filings, their support is effectively nonexistent. Due to their lack of response, we still don’t know whether our local sales tax has been filed correctly—or not at all. As a result, we may be facing up to $35,000 in unnecessary penalties and fees. I say “may” only because, once again, they refuse to provide clear answers.

Do your research before signing up. It doesn’t take long to find countless negative reviews calling out the same support failures. If you expect accountability, communication, or timely resolution when something goes wrong, stay away.

Accurate, responsive, helpful support!

I haven't been using this program for very long yet. So far the setup was pretty easy, communication has been fantastic, and the first filing approval request came to my inbox and was easy to submit. Based on my limited experience and time, I am very happy with Numeral for monitoring, setting up and filing sales tax in the states that require sales tax collection.

It's my first year using Numeral but so far it seems to work perfectly, no maintenance required, easy setup. Other apps seem to have my team constantly fixing issues. Not with this one.
