Oval Renewables Reviews

Sam and Ollie installed a Sonnen 7.5 KW battery system for me just before Christmas. The installation was neat and tidy with Sam even finding an issue with the original PV wiring in the fuse box which he corrected for me.
Unfortunately, the ‘computer’ part of the battery installation was indicating an incorrect reading for my PV system (compared with the inverter output) and house usage (compared with my smart meter monitor). Sam attempted to resolve the issue remotely whilst on holiday with the aid of Sonnen but was unable to do so. When he visited he found that the CT clamp that measured the solar output had been incorrectly wired up during manufacturing and by reversing the clamp and resetting the computer the correct readings were being recorded.
The battery is now fully operational and on a couple of days it has charged up to 1kWh. I don’t think that’s bad considering there are 3 people in the house full time at the moment and we don’t get much direct sunlight on the solar panels at this time of year. I’m looking forward to the longer sunnier days to see how much the battery saves me.
I’m very impressed with Sam and his commitment to getting the issues sorted.
I would certainly recommend Oval for any electrical work you have planned.

Quick, friendly, even had patience when the kids kept getting in the way. Can't fault them thanks very much

The team from Oval installed a EVSE charger as part of the PowerShaper project.
I was very impressed with everything about eh installation. It was done professionally and carefully, with due consideration of the lockdown, measures. The team were friendly, self contained and hugely knowledgeable. Everything worked as intended and my garage was left in at least as good a state as when they started.

I will be happy to use them for my next project (probably battery storage)

Sam and Ollie spent the past couple of days installing a pair of Sonnen batteries for me. I can only congratulate them on their work: good humoured, efficient, personable and well-informed. What more could you ask for?

Really enjoyed the conversations about the energy transition and the move to the smart world in which we find ourselves.

Am sure that Oval Renewables (not OVO!) will do very well!

Look forward to meeting up again when we add a further battery....

In June 2020 I employed Oval Renewables to install all the electrical equipment needed to commission and control a new air-source heat-pump/gas boiler hybrid heating system at my home in Selby.
The work was well planned and organised, it was executed efficiently and skillfully, and started and completed on schedule. The firm's director, Sam Featherstone, and his apprentice showed resourcefulness and determination in solving problems arising out of the new technology, Both men were respectful and courteous while working in our home.
Sam provided a detailed quotation and invoice in a professional manner and demonstrated dependability throughout.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Oval Renewables. Friendly, efficient and extremely knowledgeable. A very happy customer.

They were fairly priced, brilliant with communication and very clean and tidy workers. I'd 100% recommend this company.

Great Service. Sam fitted a Nest for us and went through all the features of the product. Professional service. Highly recommended.

Sam was extremely helpful and professional, turning up on time he was clean, helpful and very knowledgeable of the nest product and install.

I think my install wasn't one of the straightforward ones, due to the rats nest of cables in the back bedroom! Appeared to be no issue for Sam to resolve - really happy with the installation and would happily recommend Sam and Oval Electrical.

Did a fantastic job fitting our new Nest Thermostat at very short notice. I would highly recommend.

I was very happy with this service and asked him to another job i needed doing and he got back to me and a few days later did that one efficiently and professionally.I will

A first rate job of advising and fitting my EV charger. Thank you.

Sam is a great guy, and will do the work professionally and to a high standard. When we had a fault after he had been, he was quick to return and rectify the issue. Would definitely use again.

I would highly recommend Oval Electrical Services. I have used them several times in the past and will continue to use them in the future. Before the work is done, I always get several options with the quotes and Sam will go through every option with you. The work is always done to an exceptionally high standard and at a very good price. If you have any queries about anything at all, if you call or text Sam, he will always get staight back to you. I was having a problem with my electrics over Christmas and Sam even said to call him at any time and he would come and sort out my problem if it arose. Nothing is a problem for Oval Electrical Services and they provide an absolutely fantastic service. If you have any problem with anything electrical, give Sam a call.

Sam did extensive tests and updating on the whole electrical installation of a grade II house. He is very professional, reliable, friendly and knowledgeable, producing work and solutions of the highest standard. Recommended without reservation.
