Phoenix Motorcycle Training - Milton Keynes Reviews 

It’s been 27 years since I have ridden a motorcycle. I thought it prudent, having bought a motorcycle, to undertake refresher training prior to going out alone. I’m glad I did. Liam was my very personable, professional and knowledgable instructor. The first part of the course (starting at 09:00) was taken up with admin and then onto a Honda Hornet 750cc. I practised drills around a coned course, steering, clutch control, balance, slow speed manoeuvring, gear changes, emergency stops and observations. All things that as experience is gained, become muscle memory, initially though it can be tricky. Once I had spent some time familiarising myself with the mechanics of the operation of the bike, more of my concentration was able to be used “off” the bike, eg, environmental features etc. The second part of the day was out on the open road, initially on a very local, quiet road, again confidence building, incorporating the mechanics of control with environmental features. From there, we went onto many differing road types, single carriageway, dual carriageway, country lanes, differing speed limits from 20-70mph. It took a while to gain confidence, but I got there in the end. I am now much more confident in my observational abilities, and operation of the motorcycle relative to traffic and road conditions.
I am though, hyper aware of my limitations, and that confidence tends to build more quickly than talent, and the gap between the two is the danger area.
Liam was exceptional, both in knowledge and coaching ability.
This course was invaluable for me.

I can’t recommend Phoenix motorcycle training enough and specifically instructors George and Liam. They gave me so much confidence in both my riding and safety on the road. I’m pleased to say I passed my CBT and the confidence they gave me has carried through to my own riding and ability.

Liam and Ben explained every thing very well with lots of encouragement I paid to gain my cbt so it was imperative I took on board what the were saying every thing about the course is positive highly recommend to anyone looking at doing this course thank you Pheonix…

my instructor liam was amazing. he understood that i needed to be spoke to in a different way and that i learn differently to others and he made sure every time he performed or asked us to perform in the car park he would explain it in detail so that i was able to understand.

Had my training in Milton Keynes with Liam. Liam was excellent, really friendly and put everyone at ease. A great experienced instructor with loads of really helpful tips and hints to progress your riding to the next level.

Overall learning was amazing, easiest way to learn how to ride and get a CBT.

Instructor (Liam) was very nice and was good to work with.

2 hours for both on site and on road driving / learning. Got through it fairly easy with no struggles.

Brilliant day had. very good instructors felt extremely safe and well informed. For the last element we went on a 2 hour ride which I really gained from passed my CBT training and had a tough but enjoyable day thanks Steve and Liam hope I got your names right. See you soon.

After a long detailed and highly interesting call with someone on the phone who is also a trainer, I paid for an instructor to offer me some training after a 7 year hiatus from riding after a serious crash. I needed confidence to ride again. The instructor chatted with me and discovered my needs, watched me ride for a bit and came up with sound very sound advice and tasks. I asked him to ride in front so I could see as I learn visually, and even though this is not usual, he gladly obliged. After the day, I feel not just confident again but I've stqrt3d to really enjoy riding again. I'm getting over my fears, but it's a constant learning process. I will be going ahead with advanced courses in the near future and I will certainly return to Phoenix school to do this. 5 stars and I'm so happy with them. WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Mark, was brilliant with me I really enjoyed his way of teaching. He had lots of patience with me and was very knowledgeable about bikes, bike gear and he makes a great coffee in the break. 😀

I have just recently passed my A2 training and license with Phoenix first time round. They are undeniably the most professional and easy going training school I’ve heard off. They are patient and give constructive criticism for where your faults lie. I couldn’t recommend any more if you’re going for a new license or wanting to give biking a go. A massive thanks to Mark and the Phoenix team for allowing me to progress so easily !

The team at Phoenix motorcycle training are first class. communication was excellent, booking straight forward and the instructors and bikes excellent. Highly recommended.

Went to Phoenix on a recommendation and after an assessment booked a DAS course with George.
Day one. George spent much longer than I would consider professional lamenting my choice of CBT school and telling myself and the other participant on the course how terrible that school is and how he’d have to unteach me the bad habits they taught me. He was yet to see me ride.

George made the other student the focus of the two days I was there. I explained my known weaknesses and tried to focus on those.

The instructor’s frustrations at my inability to pick up techniques in the first five minutes of teaching was very obvious and instead of helping, would simply moan at me and continue making jabs at my CBT school.

Day two started with a long ride that on the surface went well. Once back at the container the MK school works out of, I asked for feedback on my performance. What I received was two words:
“Still s**t”.

I tried to continue on, but the moment George walked away from me while I struggled on the slalom training was the moment I decided to leave the school. The most animated George was about my training was when he got in my face to try to stop me from leaving.

I paid for five days training, got one and a half and the desire to ride motorbikes almost completely beaten out of me.

I have since been back to the school that did my CBT and passed both my bike tests first time with zero faults. Quality instruction is important and I don’t believe I got any from Phoenix in Milton Keynes.

Excellent training experience with Phoenix. I learned how to be a competent and safe rider. George (my instructor) is a fantastic instructor. I doubt I would have passed my MOD1 & 2 without his brilliant instruction.

George was a great instructor and Phoenix made it really straight forward to do my DAS training. Very pleased to get the license too.

Had a back to biking course with Gheorghe today at MK. From the start I felt in save hands as Gheorghe is very competent. Went for a 2.5h ride around MK and I improved my riding as well as my confidence. Highly recommended.

Had a Back to Biking (Refresher) course with George in Milton Keynes after previously passing DAS with a different school over a year ago. George was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and helped build my confidence on the road, tailoring everything to me and what I needed or wanted to practice. We spent lot's of time riding through every type of road/situation which I could ever come across going forward. His insight and tips were amazing and really helped me improve even within the day. I feel like I now know what biking is all about, and learnt far more than my DAS course. He is personable, approachable and funny with a great teaching style. Highly experienced in all things bike related and is very passionate about it. I would highly recommend anyone in the Bucks area to go and learn with George in Milton Keynes, whether CBT or DAS or a refresher if you're serious about learning the skills you need to master. As well as a back to biking course they also do 'Try riding' or 'Pre CBT' lessons if you want to test them out, will definitely not be disappointed.
