I've been trying to reengage with my piano after losing my piano instructor a few years back. Having no success finding a replacement I tried to work on my own without much satisfaction. I stumbled on Simon with the Piano Pig program and thought I would give it a try. I've have found a reason to play again, the lessons are very approachable and well explained and I'm now enjoying learning again. Would recommend this program to anyone who is interested in learning Jazz piano.

The PP Academy site has a wealth of information clearly presented and easy to navigate. I'm not formally trained, so I tend to learn using the 'monkey-see-do' methodology and can find plenty of video teachings on the academy so that's good ... I rarely read music and am very slow at that when I do, and not expecting to put energy into getting good at that skill. I understand a good bit of theory however and I like hearing / learning more, so I like that about Simon's lessons too. I'm working my way thru the RoadMap right now. In general, my interests lean towards Blues, Soul, Funk and classic rock. I have only limited knowledge of and interest jazz and neo-soul. So in some ways the academy is great for me and other ways only marginally targeted to my interestes. With that much said, I wish the subscription fee was more like $15/m ... but of course that's just me :-)) .. Hope that helps

Simon is very personable and explains things really well. I appreciate how in tune he is with the learning process itself. He's aware of the fact that since there is a glut of information available out there, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and paralyzed. He helps tremendously in sifting through all that so I can focus on what matters most in my own development.

I also admire his commitment to making practice as efficient as possible. That's huge.

Nothing bad to say about the man. I'm glad I became a paying member to gain more access to his brain.

Been in the academy for 1 month and I learned a lot of new and really useful stuff

PianoPig is a well structured online piano academy with excellent courses designed to develop you into the best piano player you can be, specialising in Jazz and Neo Soul. Simon Warner, the head honcho, is immediately a very welcoming, friendly and approachable host as well as being extremely competent in his field. Not only that, the business side of the organisation is very well run and professional - you notice this during the joining up phase. The subscription cost of joining the Academy is very reasonable, in my opinion. I was actually lucky to benefit from a trial period for a nominal fee.

I really enjoy being a member of the pianopig academy. I have learnt so much and there is still much more to learn! Simon is adding new courses and wisdom regularly. A great place where you get your questions answered (whatever level you are), can get feedback on your playing and are with some like-minded piano/ keyboard loving people. Simon is a great teacher!

Fantastic content for all levels of playing, and a great online community who are supportive and helpful! Lots of feedback from the developer Simon, if you want it! Basically, you get out of the learning what you put in, so it really works well for those serious about taking their musicianship up a few levels!

My passion to learn piano was rekindled last year, and I spent months trying to improve randomly using YouTube. Then I took a free mini course for improvisation from Piano Pig. My quick progress convinced me of my need for more structured lessons, and so I joined. Piano pig works well because I can find lessons and tutorials that suit my intermediate knowledge. Tips from Simon and other members and weekly feedback are keeping me moving forward. It's an amazing value too-- less expensive and better for me than taking a traditional class. Highly recommend!

The Piano Pig Academy is a fantastic resource for those wishing to take up piano as beginners, or improve upon knowledge already gained elsewhere.
I joined 3 weeks ago as a complete beginner and I'm amazed at my progress. Of course, I've put in the hours to learn and practice but the learning material is very well structured. Theory lessons and practical exercises are all there, as well as song tutorials of different styles of music.
There is also a Forum where members can learn from each other, swap tips, suggest song tutorials they'd like to be covered, give each other encouragement and so much more.
The owner, Simon, is on hand to give advice and any questions get answered, often within a couple of hours. He is a very good teacher, he always seems to have the right advice for whatever difficulty I'm having. He clearly knows his stuff!
The Piano Pig Academy is a real community. Anyone who wants to learn Piano would definitely benefit from becoming a member of this amazing resource, I'm sure I'll be a member for a very long time to come.
Honestly, if you're willing to put in the time to learn and practice, you won't find a better online resource than the Piano Pig Academy and I would leave a 10 star rating if that were possible!
