I was a backer of the SLS S7 model on Kickstarter, and one never knows quite what you will get when you back a Kickstarter. Having been bitten once before over a self-cleaning litter tray (from a totally different company), I was hesitant.
However...
I am so pleased I took the plunge and chose to back this.

Set Up
When the box arrived, I was struck by how well-thought-through the actual packaging was. Unboxing was straightforward and set up was simple - although the unit did have to be turned sideways to fit through the door to the room where it was to live. (That is just our weird house...) Fortunately, we hadn't added any cat litter at that stage of the set up process.
We placed it in the same place as the litter tray it replaced, and the cats took to it immediately even though we were, at that point, using a different type of cat litter than the one they were used to.

App
Once the App was released and we had extended our WiFi so that we could use it, maintenance became even simpler than it was when done manually. I also like to keep an eye on frequency of use.

Maintenance
With 2 cats, I empty the bin every 14 days, because that fits in with the bin collection even though it isn't absolutely full at that point. Keeping the unit clean is straightforward - I use Waterwipes to wipe the bin surround etc, and throw the used one into the bin when Im done with them. Dry litter dust around the sifter hinge brushes out with the brush from the dustpan I used with our "old" litter trays.

Litter type
The only thing I found was that the "new" cat litter I was using at first (Catit pea husk) has long thin pellets, and the bars of the (supplied) litter sifter were too close together to allow them to pass through if they were "widthways". We wasted a lot of unused litter because it was ejected into the bin instead of passing through the sifter and returned to the tray, but as soon as I realised what was happening, we reverted to the "old" litter, (World's Best Multi cat) which had differently-shaped pellets, and the issue has not arisen again. I have purchased a litter sifter with more widely spaced bars from Popur, which I will be fitting and using once we have used up all the "old" litter.

I think we use less litter, because the device only removes the "clumps" of litter, and all dry and unused litter is returned to the tray.
Neither we not our cleaning ladies can detect any "litter tray smell" at all in the house or in the room where the tray is located.

I have had a couple of minor queries. On reaching out to Popur, they were both answered extremely quickly.

I am very happy with this. The cats are happy, and we are happy.

I recently received a new Popur S7. The assembly instructions were clear, well‑illustrated, and easy to follow. The updated waste bin is larger and has a more modern, streamlined appearance.

I initially experienced issues with litter sticking to the liner and the waste compartment closing before the unit could complete a full dump cycle. I contacted customer service by email and received a detailed response within 24–36 hours, including photos, troubleshooting steps, and possible causes. They also proactively sent a replacement waste‑bin module and liner. I genuinely appreciated their prompt, thorough, and patient support.
All three of my cats began using the unit without any issues after their initial inspection.

The S7 is an amazing product, and my foster cats all prefer it to the other automatic domes I have.
Super easy to dismantle and clean.
Customer support is also amazing.

If you’re debating between Popur and other big-name brands, go with Popur. I’ve been through the Litter-Robot and others, and the S7 is superior in every way—from usability, the new design, and the fantastic new features.

The highlights:

Odor Control: Virtually non-existent smell.

Cat-Friendly: My cats transitioned instantly; some even use it as a nap spot!

Support: Truly impressive. Quick responses, helpful video guides, and fast part replacements when needed.

I’ve had the Popur SL7 for about three months. After some initial issues, which were promptly resolved with the help of very kind and efficient customer support, the litter box has been working perfectly day after day. I’m truly satisfied and would recommend it to everyone.

We have an X5 and several PetSnowy devices (which we got 2 years before the Popur). All 3 cats prefer the Popur without question. Looking at replacing the PetSnowy devices with the X7.

I bought the Popur 5 and loved it. The S7 is somehow even better! I backed the Kickstarter and waited patiently. I had the option to upgrade to 2 machines for the backer price, so of course I did. The company has been nothing but helpful and kind. I have 4 Popur machines and 4 Litter Robots, and the Popurs out perform the robots any day! Best litter box ever!

Since this is my only way of contacting you after you so graciously blocked my email address when I requested a cancelation, do you feel like returning the $400 you stole from me or are you going to send me the product I gave you money for? Because you can not do neither. That’s illegal. You can refund my $400 or you can send me the product.

I backed you on KickStarter in August of 2025. It is April of 2026. This has been eight months of hell. I requested you cancel prior to anything ever being sent to me and you refused. Since KickStarter made this an absolutely asinine dispute process through my credit card, I was informed you have to send me my product or refund my money directly according to the legal terms of your KickStarter contract. So which is it going to be? Remember, stealing $400 from me and sending me nothing is not actually an option even though you seem to think it is. You announced two months ago that you successfully fulfilled the over 2,800 orders from KickStarter so now you can either fulfill mine or give me my money back - your only two options per your legal contract.

Great purchase I will never regret making. My model went 3 full years before it needed a motor replacement. I recommend this litter pan to all of my cat parent friends. If you’re on the fence, DO IT!

Our six cats took to the Popur boxes immediately. One of the cats jumped into it before I had even added the litter! Customer service was wonderful when I had a problem with initial setup, and the boxes have totally exceeded my expectations. That said, two of our cats really like to “go to town” burying their business, and they tend to kick out a lot of litter, but that’s more a cat behavior issue than a litter box issue. If Popur ever manufactures a way to keep the litter in the box and outsmart two ornery cats, I’d be happy to purchase it!

I have 2 of the Popur S7 auto litter boxes and absolutely love them! My 8 cats acclimated very quickly and they also enjoy using a clean litter box every time. I had a small issue with one of the litter boxes, but I reached out to customer service and they were extremely helpful in guiding me through the issue. They sent a replacement part right away along with support on how to install it. I am very very pleased with this company and their product. Highly recommend!!

I’m an early Kickstarter backer, and as soon as I saw this device, I decided to give it a go. We have two cats and one of them is pretty big, so we knew we needed an open solution—and we were sick of cleaning regular litter boxes.

Anyway, when the Popur arrived, I was hesitant to see if the cats would approve. The first day or two were a bit stressful because they weren’t used to it, but we followed the advice and didn’t turn the device on for the first few days until they got comfortable—which they totally did.

Now, after using the device for almost a month, we can definitely say it’s a lifesaver! No more scooping, the cats are happy that their litter is always clean, and life is overall much easier! Thank you, Popur, for creating a product that really makes life with cats so much better. If you are debating whether to give this device a go—I strongly recommend it!

We have been a Popur customer for several years, using three litter boxes at our animal sanctuary. The litter boxes are amazing and very cost-effective for us as they use 60% less litter than our previous scoop boxes. The box paid for itself using less litter within a year. Our cats love the open box, and it accommodates even our largest cats. One box accommodated six cats with no problem, and we will be lifelong customers. THANK YOU, POPUR!

It is great not to smell the box at all. I do have 2 cats and change the bag weekly. My cats started using it right away and feel completely comfortable using it. They were curious at first and watched it work but now just use it and go on with their day. I highly recommend!

We chose the bigger size, S7 as we have 4 cats with an Highland lynx, approx. 15lbs.
They got used to it in a mater of days, and rarely use the other litter boxes that we have around the house anymore. It tucks away the odors, is super easy to maintain, works with the clumping litter we always used (city cats Classic from intersand)
We have one cat that a little finicky and would sh*t anywhere else than the litter box if it wasn't completely free of the other cat's pee and poo. It totally solved the problem.
We have had it for about 5 months when we had a small issue but customer service was quick to reply with the exact solution so there again, another reason to recommend! It was something minor with the automatic lid on the disposal bin and they sent a replacement part the same day I contacted them!

I've had the S7 since last December for my two kitties. One is very skittish, and absolutely refused to use an automated litter box in the past. The reviews sounded promising, so I gave it a try. It did take a few weeks of gradual acclimation, but both cats started using it with no issues! I really appreciate the Popur customer care team. I've reach out twice with questions, and they got back very quickly. They seem like they genuinely want their customers (and their cats) to be happy with their product, and will make things right if there's a problem. With the S7 being a newer product, they have made some adjustments and improvements with regular updates through the app. Very satisfied with the S7!

This would be five stars if it were a little less pricy and a little easier to clean mushy poops off the grate.

Otherwise, this thing is great! We have seven cats and were hesitant to buy one because we've tried unsuccessfully with litter robots in the past. The litter boxes were just becoming overwhelming so we bit the bullet and got one from kickstarter.

Game changer.

We liked it so much we got a second one for the other floor. It's been a few months and not all of the cats have acclimated yet, but we are being very slow about removing litter boxes. We have noticed the bins getting fuller so we are looking forward to the day when we just have to swap out the bag and never scoop again!

This litter box is amazing!! I would never use anything else. I messaged them on Facebook for a part and they are sending it to me since it’s still under warranty. Highly recommend. Very safe. My cats like to watch it do its thing and help it spread the litter and they are completely safe. 5 star litter box! We have 7 cats and they all love this Popur!!

I breed Maine Coons and currently have 9 in my home with 4 Popurs. Popur has made our life so much easier. We got the X5s years ago and have been so happy with them. When we ran into an issue the customer service was top notch. We recently added two of the new S7s and finally we are free from scooping. We love our Popurs and with 9 large cats we have to empty the 4 units every 7-10 days. Freedom from the scoop! Woohoo! I highly recommend getting a Popur if you have 1 cat or 9 like we do.
