They completely ruined my paper
They completely ruined my paper. The editor comments were super arrogant. I have to go back and fix my paper every time. You go on their website and it's filled with grammatical errors. The blogs about style guides have lots of errors, too. It's very unprofessional. It's like the editors aren't really professional enough to have a real editing job so they have this fake editing service that doesn't improve on papers because they introduce errors and don't understand the meaning of the papers they're editing.

Our customer service team reached out via email to ask for examples. The example you gave is an edit that is in alignment with APA 7 style guidelines, and the proofreader who worked on your project left comments explaining the reasons for these edits. APA style prohibits anthropomorphism, or attributing human actions or traits to inanimate objects. It also recommends using active voice instead of passive voice wherever possible to increase clarity. Contrary to popular belief, APA style encourages the use of the first-person point of view using pronouns such as “I, me, we, and us.” While some institutions have their own style guide or preferences, here at ProofreadingPal, we default to APA style guidelines unless otherwise requested by the customer. You are welcome to adopt or ignore comments, suggestions, and edits as you see fit. If an edit does not align with your intended meaning or your institution’s style guide, we encourage you to disregard it. Because we use the track changes feature of Microsoft Word, you can accept or reject individual edits.

I have used ProofreadingPal many times for resumes, cover letters, and general business documents The vast majority of the time, I have been very satisfied with their service. However, there have been a couple of times when I was not completely satisfied. However, I did not contact customer service, so I don't know their willingness to correct issues.
