Noisy, incomprehensible classes and poor customer service
I did a few of the Ride classes.
Very loud music, unclear instructions from every instructor I had.
It is over-priced at around £25 per class, depending on the deal.
The customer service staff on email were slow to respond and unhelpful. It took at least 3 emails to get responses.
The booking process is a bit annoying and done on an unnecessarily awkward cycle.
Been coming here since its beginnings…
Been coming here since its beginnings with a hiatus in 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic. Firstly, I love the people. Instructors are knowledgeable, kind, helpful and go beyond to bring the vibes and inspire to have a healthy, challenging and fun experience. Front desk are friendly and helpful. Cleaning staff do a great job in difficult circumstances with sometimes very entitled clientele. (I’m looking at you person who clipped your nails in front of the mirror and you person who left dirty used q tips on the bench)
Some reviews cite strict enforcement policies as a minus. I welcome timely gate keeping. It’s hugely annoying to have first timers arriving last minute and expecting personal attention and allowing riders, etc in after time is dangerous and disrespectful for those on time.. Instructors also struggle to enforce phone bans in classes and photos in changing rooms!
There are some nitpicky issues which are management issues but overall a wonderful experience.
Disappointing experience
Disappointing experience. I came with my wife for a spinning session, but because I had to sign a waiver at the desk, I was refused entry while she was let in. The staff showed zero interest in being helpful or finding a way to get me into the class we had actually booked. Being told to "just wait for the next one" isn't a solution when you've planned a joint activity. A little common sense and customer service would have gone a long way.
Very poor experience
Very poor experience. Psycle applies a closed-door policy with zero flexibility. I was fully dressed, in cycling shoes, standing right outside the studio when the staff member closed the door and physically blocked me from entering.
This was my first visit, despite attending cycling studios all over Europe. The only solution offered was to attend another class “as a courtesy.” I have never been treated this way in a fitness studio. I cancelled all my remaining bookings with Psycle as a result.

I have done Infrared sculpt class in the bank studio. The studio is overcroweded which creates a chaotic atmosphere in the reception space and in the women changing facilities. You have to queue to showers, hairdryers and mirrors. Also hunting for a locker and not having space to put one’s coat are hardly markers for good service. The class itself was ok, however had it been full it would be very difficult to do all exercises at ease. I would not be coming back and would not recommend to anyone
Strict lateness rule made for a frustrating experience
I was only 1 minute late for my Pilates class and they wouldn’t let me in. The tubes were horribly delayed, and they didn’t seem to care at all, they just told me I could book the next class, which was an hour later. What’s frustrating is that if you’ve already passed reception, you can still join the class late, so the rule isn’t applied consistently. I understand the reasoning behind having a policy, but it feels a bit excessive - everyone has paid for the class, and it should be their own choice if they miss a couple of minutes. I also don’t really believe that someone quietly entering a minute or two late would disturb the rest of the group. If they’re going to be strict about this rule, they should apply it equally in every situation, or simply allow a short grace period, which would be a much more reasonable and human approach.
So yes, I had a terrible experience today, came all the way to the studio and had to leave - for a 1 minute delay.
This place is not for beginners
This place doesn’t seem to be for beginners. You either know what you’re doing, or it’s best to start at a smaller studio. They say to arrive 15 minutes early, but I’m not even sure why anymore; the door only opened 4 minutes before the class started, so I basically had 2–3 minutes to get familiar with the bike and make adjustments. It looked like a fully booked class, and in all that chaos, I couldn’t even get the attention of a staff member for help, which were also talking continuously and did not pay any attention to the class or if anyone needs support. So I just left a minute before the class started. Waste of time.
Great reformer class
Great reformer class! Full body workout!

I arrived exactly one minute late to a class with Ben (instructor at Oxford Circus branch) due to an issue with my locker not opening. He was extremely rude and told me to leave his class directly saying 'Out', whilst on the microphone for everyone to hear. Whilst I do not have a problem with instructors not letting people in once the class has started, the way in which he spoke to me was very disrespectful and is no way to speak to a customer. I have no interest in taking his class again.
Absolutely cracking ride classes
Absolutely cracking ride classes. Instructor, Geoff is so encouraging, supportive and leads a dynamic class. Reception at Shoreditch are very welcoming and helpful.
Come away from classes on top of the world!!!
Careful buying block credits!
Just poor service. One of my perks from my work is they pay for a gym membership / or we can use the £ on something similar. I opted to pay for a package of 15 ish sessions pre lockdown (of course they happily sat on this £ for a year whilst no one could use the gym). Post Covid I had various health problems which meant I couldn’t cycle and before I knew it all 15 of my sessions had expired. Circa from memory £200 - £250. When I realised this had happened I called them to see if they could extend my credits, but they decided to hide behind some small print excuse and not help me out, but that they “hoped I continued to use their services” No middle ground, no ‘let’s see what we can do etc’.
What really annoyed me was I was a huge ambassador of the place and signed a number of friends up, it got me fit and was local to me. Really sad a company acts this way, and whereas I am part to blame to allow this to run out, I was physically unable to cycle and before I knew it the credits had run out.
Also noteworthy, the only way I could get them to respond to any of my emails was to threaten to write to their CEO!
Good overall!
I go here using ClassPass. Amazing instructors and really good facilities. The shoes are quite unhygienic as they are shared and sometimes the bikes aren't properly cleaned between sessions. The HIIT and reformer pilates classes are fantastic too!
Not coming back!
Firstly, in their Shoreditch location, you go downstairs into a small waiting room, which is unbearable in itself. Secondly, they were running 7 mins late meaning they rushed us inside. The trainer didn’t ask if anyone had any injuries and asked us all to hurry in because they were delayed.
The room is cramped with a million bicycles and you keep bumping into the person sitting next to you.
So, to the fun part!
I have done spinning like this in the past but because of a knee injury, I have not gone in a while and still can’t properly cycle, when sitting in my seat. So naturally, I was standing for most of the class. When everyone was sitting down in their seat, I kept standing doing the same exercise as everyone else. The trainer then tells me in her microphone to sit down, which I tried to shout to her that I couldn’t. She didn’t hear me and just shouted in her microphone that “we are a team here and if you don’t follow the instructions, you can go somewhere else”. Very ironic to call it a team, when she’s telling me to leave 😂 what a joke. Didn’t feel welcome after that!
Reformer Pilates at Psycle Oxford Circus
I tried the reformer pilates at Psycle Oxford circus and it was a horrible experience. The instructor Matt was not at all attentive and did not bother to check whether the workout postures were correctly done or not. It seemed like he just wanted to rush to finish the class. I would never recommend this instructor for Reformer Pilates to anyone.
Non existent membership customer support
Great classes, but their online booking system was buggy and expired one of my tokens I’ve paid for. Their customer support has been successfully ignoring me hoping I’ll just go away
Amazing Classes and Great Staff.
Amazing Classes and Great Staff.
I have just recently found these classes are totally amazing and so fresh. Facilities are clean so well looked after. Its a pleasure to be part of the fam
Online membership non refundable
Online membership automatically renews without any warning and requested refund two days after invoice was not offered.
I spotted I got an automatic invoice for a service I was not using and I only spotted it when charged to my account. I explained to the team this was a service I was not interested after the trial period and would like a refund. No resolution was offered.
Thank you Bonnie @ Shoreditch…
Had amazing customer service from Bonnie at the Shoreditch branch. She was quick in her responses to my issues and was very understanding and was able to resolve my issue despite the fact that the mistake was mine. I have been riding with Psychle since 2015 and it is clear that they value and reward loyalty. Thank you Bonnie!
What a great first experience at Psycle…
What a great first experience at Psycle Mortimer Road!! The staff were so welcoming, the existing members were also lovely. The studios were very safe, clean and Amy was particularly brilliant. Highly recommend!
