Phi Theta Kappa is a secret society that causes chaos in the community when they don't get their way by using violence. They steal credentials from people and have a hand in fraud. Something similar to a terrorist.

PTK opened many opportunities and doors for me as a student. I started off at community college with no money, a dream, and no way to get there. PTK gave me a network of friends, the opportunity to embark on self-discovery, and networking and resources that I still use in my career now post-baccalaureate.

The negative reviews do not represent how truly life-changing this organization has been for me and my friends. I have told people who get involved that it’s what you put into the organization (i.e., time, effort, dedication) that directly correlates to what you get out. It is an investment in your future that provides boundless opportunities, experiences, and resources. I am so tremendously proud of my decision to be a member.

Joining PTK was a life changing experience. As a first generation student, I was really lost and had no one to guide me, being accepted to an Honors society in itself was unbelievable. Once I joined, I found a family and advisors that had faith in my success and gave me the necessary tools to achieve the impossible. My involvement and academics allowed me to obtain various PTK scholarships which served to further my academic career! I now have a bachelors degree from Columbia university and a long list of long time friends that I gained through PTK!

Don't listen to the negative reviews. They aren't truthful because not only do you get the ability to apply for scholarships (it's not a guarantee..you have to apply for them, so I don't know what these crybabies are complaining about) but they have leadership conferences all over the country, businesses that are looking to hire you & educational forums. Not to mention the acknowledgement and notoriety for all your hard work, you also get some nice swag to wear at graduation and a certificate to frame so you can hang it next to your degree. It's an accomplishment and something to be proud of!!!

PTK has been life changing for me. I started community college upon immigrating to the US. I had no knowledge of the higher education system in the US nor anyone I could ask for help. When I received my invitation and asked my friends if it would be worth joining, everyone encouraged me to, and I’m so glad I listened. Thanks to PTK, I was able to learn more about many scholarship opportunities, and build my resume to be qualified for these scholarships. If it weren’t for all the professional and personal development opportunities that I received, I wouldn’t be where I am today. The connections I made through the organization helped me find out and apply for the Jack Kent Cooke scholarship, which provided me with a full ride scholarship to complete my bachelor’s degree and currently my master’s degree. This would not have been possible without the guidance I received from my PTK advisors and mentors. A PTK membership is like a gym membership, you get out of it what you put in. Even though I graduated in 2021, I am still involved with PTK, aiming to help students and pay it forward. If you are someone who’s looking to build your resume and stand out as an applicant for schools and scholarships, this is the place to start!

I’d love to be a member. I have gotten all A’s. I received this survey. But I have never received an invite.

I was honored to receive an invitation to PTK. At first. I thought I would have scholarship opportunities as a nursing student, since that’s what they advertised. But there wasn’t a single scholarship for me as a nursing student at community college. Very disappointing as I am paying for college myself.

I have good hopes about the organization and continue to inspire others to do the same

I received an email to join this org, honestly did it for the school resume. Otherwise, I got nothing for joining in the way of scholarships or transfer opportunities. There's no one to call or get in touch with to help guide you through anything. Its all done online, there's no events or meeting opportunities to stand out, there's literally nothing. I do not advise joining. Perhaps wait until they bug you enough to join and then you can join for a cheaper rate that's about it.

The PTK transfer college secured my higher education in computer engineering at one of the nation’s top research and technological universities. I am forever indebted to Phi Theta Kappa!

Why are you sending out surveys for this? Also why would you have the survey direct me to this atrociously reviewed Trustpilot page immediately after finishing? This page makes you look horrible, why in the world would you send me here automatically after your survey? Braindead organization.

PTK has been an excellent experience for me. My regional leadership team has been amazing to work with, and the regional and international conferences are a blast! Being able to work with my chapter on the Honors in Action and College Project was a great way to dig into research and give back to my college campus. In my experience, every chapter runs differently and your experience greatly depends on how active and supportive your chapter is. Get to know your chapter before joining!

Phi Theta Kappa does not value its members at all! I paid my member dues and I feel like they just ran off with it. The chapter does not seem to be active at my school, and I am transferring next year so really what is the point. I don't believe it's worth joining

I agree with the other negative reviews on here. I have been a member for almost two years. I am a member of an "online only" chapter which has never met or had any events. I got absolutely nothing from the money I paid but something to put on my resume, which may or may not make a difference (I'm leaning toward "may not"). It's just a way to show you have a high GPA without outright stating it on your resume, I guess. I joined "the national society for Leadership and success" aka NSLS before this one, and I'd hoped for a better experience with PTK. But no, more if the same, which is more of absolutely nothing.

This is a scam and offers no value in the present or in the future. Does not enhance your resume at all and may in fact, do the exact opposite in that it points out that you can be lured in by false promises and your ability to seek out find information before committing to a course of action.

Luckily where I am at, our advisers are great and helped us implementing with any college projects our officers and members would have. It taught me leadership and how to be sports. Here at GC there's only 2 to 4 officers and very few members that are very proactive but despite that we are able to manage it. Our induction is always fabulous. I just wish that they would come in a formal attire and not in a baggy or ripped jeans attire. I would give PTK 5 but because of the fee (we got a small refund) and also it seems like since I joined PTK I have been getting a lot of emails from different colleges/institutions. It was never like that but all of a sudden I get bombard with this annoying emails. Another thing with PTK is someone will steal your thunder and despite of the hard work don't expect to get the credit that you deserve. I understand and agree with inclusions and that kind of matter but with my experience I felt like there's a specific race that they preferred more, if you are what they are looking for to make it looked that there is diversity, that person is more shoe in to get the award. All in all its good but having a great and supportive advisers makes all the difference.
