While my purchase has not yet cleared customs and arrived in hand, I have confirmation of its status and imminent delivery. My 5-star is based on the attentive and most thoughtful service provided by Phillip during my buying experience. This was an expensive item (per my budget) and Phillip was very quick to provide me not only full information on the item, but a link to additional history on its provenance and use for an earlier publication. This adds immensely to my appreciation and while offered as incentive, I felt no pressure or coaxing to buy NOW. In fact, when I asked I was given a modest discount. Simply great communication and service!

Parcel arrived and is in perfect condition with a “custom” treatment of the invitation to ensure no damage to the wax seal. Couldn’t be more pleased!

Had the most wonderful experience purchasing my first rare book from Rainford Parris Books. Mr. Philip Parris personally replied to all of my questions quickly and clearly and provided additional photographs that proved to be 100% accurate. Most importantly, he shipped the book to me in the US at dizzying speed, getting it on a plane on a Saturday and I had it in my hands by Monday, even during the pandemic era. The book was carefully and securely packaged. Overall, a perfect shopping and shipping experience.

It is exactly as described, in excellent condition, so all in all I am delighted with my purchase and I will certainly buy from this company again.
I must just mention the personal letter, signed by Philip Parris, which was included with the invoice note. In this anonymous age of automatically generated emails and 'Please do not reply to this email' requests, a personally addressed letter to the customer must be a rare occurrence, which I really appreciated.

An inscribed book by my favorite author was listed on ABEBOOKS indicating that it was acquired from the library of the author's cousin. I inquired to learn if they had other works inscribed to the cousin and received a list of about a dozen titles that hadn't been catalogued yet, including one that was a gift from the author and her mother. I already had two association copies of the title but wanted the dual inscriptions. They also had a photo with the delightful "Age 81 1/2" on the back. They sold me both and even arranged a time to call the U.S. to get my credit card information. We chatted several minutes. Their communications were excellent, as was the protective packaging. They are a charming couple who shared my delight. The photo is now beautifully framed and adorns my living room. I will always appreciate their extra efforts.
