Purchased the bicycle online

Purchased the bicycle online. Never received the assembly kit that I paid $40 for. Had to assemble without it (it was a Christmas present for my daughter from Santa). The bolts were so tightly screwed it was incredibly difficult to assemble.

Christmas Destroyed !

After receiving the bike, it become clear that the wrong parts where packed in our box, therefore leaving the bike unable to be used.. After reaching out to support with numerous photos and videos the correct parts were meant to be sent out. after waiting several weeks the parts arrived only to find that these were also wrong ! leaving the bike unusable. And now Reid the refusle to pick the bike up and refund. I have to drive it nearly an hour to a shop to get a refund. Do yourself a favour and go into your local store. You will save yourself the hassle but more than likely get a far superior product ! Thanks for destroying a Christmas.

Very good service and value for money

I have purchased from Reid Cycles many times and service is always very good.
My latest bike purchase was delivered on time, if not before the expected delivery date.
Reid Cycles is my go to place for value for money bikes.

I purchased a bike before Christmas

I purchased a bike before Christmas, it arrived scratched, dinted and the seat bar was too small, I was sent a replacement part and spray paint to fix myself. The seat bar was the same size. I have been emailing for 3-4 weeks now and the issue is still not resolved and the bike is still unridable.

Happy with the bike but some parts were missing. I have contacted regarding this and have been told it will be sent but still haven’t received the missing parts.

Bought the basic mountain bike online

Bought the basic mountain bike online
Packaging was fairly damaged but the bike checked out ok. There was a problem with some of the screws for the headstand but after a ph call they sent a new part quite quickly.
The bike has had a few issues with gears not engaging properly but I think this is more of a me (user) problem. Have adjusted them often and they are working fine now.
This as a basic entry level bike is awesome have down a couple of gnarley rides but most of my riding is on the trails along the Yarra and will do regular 30 or 40 km rides.
Love this bike.

Reid bike quality

I bought 2 bikes, roller vintage and rapid road.
Unfortunately I must confess your bikes don't have value of money.
I paid 425 for vintage one, and It had about 300$ cost to Change some of parts like cassette, brake shoes, and also for true the rims.
But rims still have issues.
I'm sure you won't place my review on website 😄, but in my opinion based my experience it's better to pay for well known brands like giant or ..

Never received my Bike

ordered a bike almost 4 months ago and I was following it up pretty much every week and they were promissing me that the bike will be ready by end of the following week but that never happened and when it got ready the colour was completely different with the one on the website and I had to wait for another 4 weeks to get the new one. Very bad customers service and they never even apologised for the delay and I had to refund my money eventually.
I am not satisfied at all!!

Reid cycles - appalling customer service

I visited the Melbourne store (Queen Vic market) on Sat 4th Dec and was told by an assistant it was better to place an online order rather than via the store. I purchased two bikes online on 5th Dec as the website indicated they were in stock. I rec’d an email confirming my order but then there was no contact other than my three phone calls chasing the order. On 22nd Dec I was told “maybe first week of Jan” and then on 4th Jan I called again and was told “ no stock, maybe early Feb” for my delivery . Because I had to instigate contact and was not kept up to date and because I chose bikes that were listed as “in stock” and to have at least a two month delay - I cancelled the order. Appalling customer service and poor website management- so much for choosing to buy Australian

Generally making an order online is an easy process for customers and gives the customer the ability to view all items,sizes and colour options available. Unfortunately, some of these colour, size options were pre-orders available as shown on the website, the arrival of these items were regrettably delayed due to covid restrictions and the affects of covid on the logistics industry meaning the ETA provided was unfortunately revised on a few occassions. We do our best to inform all customers of these delays but it seems our team did not iinform you before you had got in touch with us.

Please accept our apologies for these delays and we hope you have found a suitable replacement bike since cancelling your order.

Cassette wheel got damaged

Cassette wheel got damaged. I had to walk the bike for 10 kilometers. I had to go all the way from Melbourne west to CBD to replace it as there're no Reid stores in West.
Tyres and tubes have VERY low quality.. Got to change these within a week after purchase. Customer care was not well responsive. I felt very sorry for buying a bike despite several warnings on Reid bikes over social media. Overall not a great experience.

We do not have a store out west victoria, given the bike was delivered to you due to no stores in your area I am sure this would have been known prior to receiving the bike. I believe our customer service team could have assisted you with getting a new cassette sent out to you given the opportunity to do so.

Terrible experience!
Ordered Vintage bike for a christmas present, received the bike damaged and the complete wrong colour. Spoke to Sam from Support, who wasn’t helpful at all and customer service was terrible. Situation still not solved. Phone calls not returned. Highly don’t recommend wasting your money. Definitely not providing the service they say they are…

I can see that there has been a lot of back and forth communication with Sam regarding the damaged bike that arrived and can see that Sam has done everything he could to resolve this issue for you, unfortunately there appears to have been some issues with the courier company in collecting the order from you to have it returned and I can see Sam has spoken with them numerous times to get this sorted out for you. He also looks to have offered compensation and alternative colour options for you which you then requested a refund which once the bike was returned to the warehouse as he explained has been done. I am sorry that Sam's assistance in resolving your concerns was not sufficient enough and we were not able to provide you with a suitable alternative.

I hope you were able to fulfill your cycling needs elsewhere and apologies for the experience you had with our team.

My husband ordered a bike from Reid…

My husband ordered a bike from Reid online for Christmas for our 9 yr old. Shipping was super fast and when we went to open the packaging to put the bike together for Christmas the bike was damaged in transit and unusable. What could be an easy swap in theory - reid send us a new bike and we send the damaged one back isn't as easy with their convoluted process and packaging needing to be as per their instructions with zip locks and packaging tape which we dont have at home not to mention the wait time for them to receive the damaged goods before sending us a new one - wish they could've picked a better quality controller before they send us a dinged bike in the first place! Whilst the customer service team is nice to deal with their return process for FAULTY bikes needs a revamp -Next time remind yourself the local bike shop is a way nicer experience!

Bang for buck and good customer service

I've bought two bicycles from Reid over the past year. The first was a Granite 4.0, which overall is an upper mid range value gravel bike, but their highest. It's designed and built for less extreme conditions as say a Giant Revolt, but is a beast on bicycle paths and road. Fantastic value for money with Shimano 105 drivetrain and hydraulic brakes at that price point. Unfortunately the bicycle did come with a faulty wheel hub, which is a supplier issue rather than a Reid issue (Brand: WTB). Julian ordered the part, replaced the wheel and I was on the road again in no time. No issues at all.

The second bike was a budget vintage bicycle for my partner who was just getting into cycling. The quality and the value for money was great. The only reason why we returned it was because we decided to go for a hybrid bicycle that she could 'grow' into as she gained more experience riding. It would have been perfect for strolling and casual riding.

Honestly would rate their range if you're entering into the cycling world. If you look up general upkeep and maintenance on a bike, a Reid would last you a very long time.
