The room was updated and beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. A/C worked great. And we loved the floors (no carpeting)! We would definitely stay here again.
I stayed at Hyatt Place Niagara Falls
I stayed at Hyatt Place Niagara Falls, NY from April 13–15 during my visit to Niagara Falls. I chose this hotel mainly because of its convenient location close to the falls.
Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The staff came across as unwelcoming and quite harsh in their communication. One frustrating incident involved parking: I was told parking was free, so I used the garage across the street. When I went to leave, I was informed that validation was required. I went to the front desk, and they said I was “good to go,” but the validation didn’t work. I had to call my wife to go back to the desk and get it validated again while I waited at the exit—an unnecessary inconvenience.
Additionally, we were charged for breakfast on April 14 even though we did not have breakfast that day. On April 15, we were also charged for breakfast for kids under 13—even though we were told that breakfast is free for children under 13. This was both unexpected and frustrating.
Given Hyatt’s reputation, I expected a much better level of service. The staff’s communication felt overly blunt, and there seems to be a need for better customer service training. Travelers come from long distances expecting a comfortable and pleasant stay, but this experience fell short. I traveled all the way from Seattle and was quite disappointed with the hotel management.
Room Cancellation
I had booked a room 6 months ago for a trip to Des Moines at this Holiday Inn. I booked early to get the best rate and ensure that I got a good room. Today, 2 days before the trip, I get an email that they have lost power and won't get it back until Monday. They cancelled everyone's reservations. The email had horrible punctuation, was so dismissive of how serious this would be for so many families and when I called to ask about the situation the front desk attendant said "yea, we cancelled your room sorry." No help, compassion or explanation. They are not even offering help finding a new hotel or anything. I just had to book with a new hotel and it was double the price. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again after how this was handled.
Great location
Great location! Room size was extremely small..almost like a room on a cruise ship. Had to ask for washcloths and some towels. Bathroom door didn’t open and close properly. Buffet was great and clean…always freshening it up which was a plus. Not a fan of the elevator video constantly played. Would not stay there again…

The reservation staff is awesome. I stayed here last year, and returned because of the excellent customer service. Lynn is amazing. She is very professional, nice and goes beyond for guests. I will book a future stay here very soon. Thank you to the front desk staff and thank you so much Lynn for helping us.

I have stayed there 3 times and the first time was the only decent stay. The second time I paid a premium price due to spring break but I'm moving and needed the room only to discover the shower didn't work and I had to shove a rag in the hole to bathe. This last stay there was a mix up in dated and I was exhausted from moving and it was late. The male night deskclerk was rude and condescending. He even made me step aside to take a gentleman who was looking for a room. He then made me wait to get me a room. He also charged me $100 security deposit that the gentleman he just took care of didn't have to. I have made multiple attempts to get my security deposit back and get my money back for the fee I had to pay on the mix-up of dates to no avail. This disabled senior vet on a limited income and $220 is a lot for me and they just keep blowing me off. I will never stay there again no matter how desperate if this is how they do business
Easy as pie!
Disappointed… always good experience in the past
We checked in on Sunday evening & told the desk we were celebrating my birthday. We were given a room on the 4th floor facing the garage & hotel walls. We have never been given a room like this in the past. There was a large tear in the carpet in front of the bathroom that they had attempted to glue back down. Very getto!
The shampoo gel mounted on the wall in the shower, says “squeeze “, I did & the entire bottom came off pouring gel on the wet shower floor, VERY slippery & dangerous… I cleaned it all up & we got a replacement from housekeeping.

This was the WORST experience I have…
This was the WORST experience I have ever had in a hotel! We had an 11hour drive to get here and when we showed up the doors were locked! Bo one there! The customer service number was completely unhelpful! Then sent us to another stuido 6 to see if we could switch our reservation and they rolled their eyes, made us buy another room and when putting us into the room we paid for the keys didnt work. After getting a second set of keys. Those DID NOT WORK...the person on duty tried and then we realized someone was already in that room! We did not get into a room until almost 4 in the morning!!!!! Not to mention the horrible smell the hotel had and the cleanliness was atrocious! This place is not ran well at all. The entire staff thar worked agreed and even one staff member admitted she would never stay there! 10 or of 10 BOT RECOMMENDED!
Booking FEE
I clicked on the hotel website that I was planning to reserve a room for one night, I thought that I was phoning the actual hotel, but a live agent answered that's not in the hotel I was planning to book a room. Only after I paid then I realized it was the generic reservation desk, never dealt with them before, but surprisingly found out via text that they charge $17.00 plus, just to book a hotel room for one night and it's non-refundable! So my hotel room went from $128.44 CDN to $194.61. I can cancel within 24hrs but the $17.99 is NON-REFUNDABLE. This is rediculous!
