Great customer service very friendly and helpful

The chickens love it. We have 4 hens in it. That should be the max for the extended version.

If you want a solid coop that will keep your hens comfortable and safe - and also look pretty darned cute - you can't go wrong. I was so impressed by the detailed, clear instructions and the thoughtful way that all the panels, hardware, etc. were packaged. I put it together mostly myself (as a nearly-50-year-old woman), though an extra pair of hands was nice at a couple of steps. I outlined the footprint of ours with cement pavers to help get and keep it level and to dissuade diggers - that was the hardest part (but worth it). The coop itself was a breeze to assemble, and it's clear that it will last for years and years. Best of all, our 6 pullets are delighted with their home. Can't wait to test out the nest boxes!

This is my second purchase from Roost & Root. My first coop when up easy. The parts all mated together like they were suppose to. This one, not so much. My nesting box doors swing in almost as much as they swing out. I've had to put stops on them. The locking hardware for the door did not match up when I used the predrilled holes. I moved the hardware to make it work. The door for the storage area will not close due to the wire . I'm in the progress of figuring out how to fix that. I did contact the company and they did respond, but offered nothing.

This is our second coop from Roost and Root. They were very helpful over the phone and shipping was fast. We are happy with the new coop and our hens are living the dream. One of our hens is either not able to or is just too hefty to get up to the roost. You might want to consider how heavy your hens are as this one has no ladder. We have a lot of trees so we used a weather sealant this time and it made a big difference and is much easier to keep clean.

Love this chicken coop! It is well-made by a U.S. company that really understands chickens. There are a lot of options for upgrades (feeders, waterer, storm panels) so you can decide how much money you want to spend and which options fit for you.

Multi positive points to purchase from Roost And root.

The 2 boxes arrive in excellent condition, UPS guy even mentioned that the boxes flapped around in the back of his truck all day! The packaging, the securing the components the type of box the constraints inside the box ensure that the box arrived intact with no damage!

I appreciated the YouTube videos produced by Roost And root. They showed me in detail the coop inside and out why decisions were made about how it was constructed to compare and contrast that to the necessity for chicken health.

I made a phone call to the company. Somebody immediately answered the phone, gave me current updates on their production line and where they were at with orders and shipments. I also requested information from Roost And root regarding viability to convert the coop into a tractor.

It was suggestion to reinforce the frame around the perimeter on the base of the coop, prior to installation of any kind of wheel mechanism. I added a tight snug frame of two by fours around the base and attachment wheels works perfect. The feed tower is designed to be inserted through an opening and then the food tower base actually rest on the ground. It didn’t want to remove the food tower. Every time I wanted to move the coop, so I inserted a pin into the feed tower. The pin rest on the wood opening for the food tower, thus weight of food tower rest on the pin and not by resting on the ground.

With these two changes to the coupe and in addition of the wheels and dolly mechanism, I now have a chicken tractor!

I rent my current home, I have three Mille Fleur d’Uccle hens and one rooster! I needed to be able to move my coop every couple of days to prevent damage the lawn and reduce chances of odor! Not to mention the benefits to the flock with fresh grass!

This is our second coop (due to moving). We wanted high quality. I like the storm windows that now stay on better with the twist technology. It is a sturdy coop! Took the girls a couple night to figure our how to sleep. Otherwise all works as intended!
One suggestion is to give instructions to modify, we switched the door to the same side as the nest door.
