I love this mat! I often disregarded mats that didn’t have a ‘textured’ surface, assuming them to be less grippy. This mat really surprised me with its incredible grip, as well as cushioned feel. It also feels quite sturdy, which is just what I need in my studio. It’s a real pleasure to practice on.

Root & river mats are undeniably of the highest quality and I use mine religiously. The thickness and texture of the mat is perfect, the right amount of cushioning and grip for any style of practice, paired with the markers for you to keep your alignment and balance this mat has it all.

I absolutely love my Root & River mat❤️ It is beautiful, the colour, the tree designed on it and it enhances my studio.
I love practicing on it, the surface is smooth so it’s a pleasure to connect with it. The thickness is great too as I feel there is enough padding to protect my knees while feeling the grounding of the earth.

The Root & River Danube mat has been a game-changer for my practice and teaching.

Firstly, the eye catching colour stuns with richness of calming blue, which adds a touch of serenity to any space, whether I’m at home practicing, or leading a flowing class. Beyond the aesthetics, the real standout features for me are the comfort and the length of this beautiful mat.

I struggle with a sore knee in certain poses, and the cushioning on this mat is absolutely perfect. It provides enough support to protect my joint without feeling mushy or unstable. It strikes that ideal balance where I feel both comfortable and securely grounded.

As a teacher who moves through different styles of yoga, the extra long length is incredibly practical. I’m not constantly adjusting my hands and feet to stay on the mat; there’s plenty of room to flow through variations and cover ground during a sequence. It’s made teaching so much more fluid and enjoyable.

I believe that this may is a stylish, high-quality investment that truly supports a mobile practice.

I’ve been loving this yoga mat from the moment I started using it.

The blue Danube shade is gorgeous – a deep, calming blue that instantly creates a more relaxing atmosphere for practice. Combined with an elegant design, it’s genuinely a pleasure to unroll, whether I’m at home or at a class.

Performance-wise, it’s a dream. The cushioning is super supportive on your joints, but still firm enough to keep you feeling stable and grounded in every pose. The grip is fantastic and the length is ideal – plenty of space to move freely without feeling restricted.

The overall quality is great too. It feels durable, well-made, and like it’s designed to last. There’s no strong chemical smell when you first use it either, which is such a nice bonus.

It definitely feels like a worthwhile investment if you’re looking for a high-quality mat that will hold up over time. I can see this being a long-term staple in my practice.

I was gifted a Root & River mat at WOMAD and I’ve really enjoyed using it. It’s a good weight, feels really well made and came beautifully packaged. It has a lovely reliable feel when you’re practising, which I really like -it looks great in the studio too! It’s become one of my favourite mats to use.

I’ve been absolutely loving the Ganges mat from Root & River. It’s the perfect width — ideal for balancing, but still super comfortable when lying down. The grip is incredible too; I’ve had so many mats where my hands slip in downward dog, but that just doesn’t happen with this one.

The design is beautiful and really grounding — the warm, neutral tones and tree detail create such a calming feel to practice on. It’s also not too heavy to carry, which makes it really practical for classes.

I genuinely love practicing on mine and have had so many compliments on it already
