BAD Business and not honoring the referral code!
After being a loyal customer for years and a few referrals, my barely adult daughter wanted to purchase herself a pair. So i sent her a referral code to her email address. She used the family computer to log in, used the code from her email address and I agreed to allow her to use my credit card for this purchase. Long story short, we have the same 1st name but different last names (my son is also a Jr.), they honor her discount but didn't honor the refer discount stating, "I know this is not the answer you were expecting to hear, but we cannot issue referral rewards or self-referrals". Basically accusing me of making up a self-referral! I explained maybe when she used the family computer maybe that caused the hiccup, spent 2 days verifying the details and 2 separate email accounts and in the end again, sorry you're not getting a referral code. Just feel like if this were a male scenario stating they have the same name as their father it would've been ok AND feels like total discriminatory. I was also told because we have the same address, I don't know of any young adults able to afford rent on their own, especially in California!

Terrible customer service!!! And guess what you can’t review their customer service on their site. Shoes are made in China! I’m still waiting on supervisor to call me. Awful experience. Will never buy more Rothy’s.
I walk all day in these with NO problems
I’m also surprised to see all the negative reviews-I have 2 pair and I love them. Both of mine are the pointed toe flats, a pair in Navy and a pair in Flax & they both are comfy and hold up very well. I did order half a size up as recommended for that style and it was spot on.
If I know I’m walking a lot that day-I wear these or my Allbirds flats.
I have several pairs of flats from Rita’s shoe closet too but the Rothy’s are higher quality
Never Again!
I purchased a pair of shoes from Rothys because of all of the hype of how great they are. Boy was I disappointed. I got a pair in black of the pointed toe shoes. I have had them for about a month now and they are so not comfortable. Also you can see my toes through the shoes. I am so disappointed especially considering how much I paid for them. Rothys needs to go way down on their price. Will never purchase again.
The bottoms wear out really fast.
I love the concept and could deal with the price point if the shoes were really durable. While the top part is strong, and they did fine in the wash, the bottom sole has already halfway worn out only from walking. These are not suitable for any outdoor use, including sidewalks, if you don’t want your soles to wear out. I also tried to replace my insoles, but every time I’ve checked lately, their insoles are sold out in my size. I think Rothy’s has the potential to make truly great products but they need to up the quality of their bottom soles and up their customer service.

First time buying my shoes and received them with a huge scratch in the back. It is so noticeable I returned them. It took so long before they can send me my replacement shoes. I called customer service and their line is not so good, like they are talking inside the bathroom and sound echoing everywhere. I am a size 7 and ordered 7.5 because reviews said they run small. I got the 7.5 and they are kinda big, I returned and asked for size 7 and they are so tight in the toes I had to return again and just deal with the 7.5 size. This is the problem when you can only buy them online and their customer service and return process is taking forever.

Sounds more like a supply chain problem to me.

I was surprised to see so many negative reviews for Rothys. I have two pair and they are my favorite shoes. I would have more if they weren’t so expensive but they are worth the cost 100%. I have the flat pointed toe and the slip on sneaker. I bought the flat pointed probably 2 years ago. They still look great and being able to throw them in the washer is fantastic. I lost one of my insoles and was able to buy another pair online. I can wear these shoes all day. I really trashed them one day on a night out. The washing machine made them like new again! I recently bought the sneaker with a gift card from my birthday for a different look. Again, so so comfortable. Versatile for more casual looks. Like walking in pillows! I would have rated 5 stars but the shipping and processing does take a while. We are in the age where we expect 2 day shipping for everything. I know when I buy rothys, it’s for me and not for a specific event. They eventually show up and I love them. I’ve never had to talk to customer service since I know it takes a while to arrive. I can understand people’s frustrations with that. If you have patience and want an amazing shoe, get rothys. My friends and I are obsessed with them!!

My son got me a gift card for Rothys for Christmas. I pulled up the website... went to sneakers and found several I liked. Every single one I chose did not have my size. You can leave your email and when your size becomes available the company lets you know. Twice I received an email... went straight to the site and again nothing in my size. I opted for the chat line to talk to a customer service agent. I was told that the sometimes they go back out of stock before they reach the website. How can something go out of stock when it’s not even listed yet? This makes no sense. I got no answer to that question. I was simply told they hoped I would be able to find another pair I liked. I found four different sneakers I liked and none of them was in my size. Now I’m afraid I have a gift card I won’t be able to use and refuse to buy a pair that I’m not going to wear. I asked to speak to a manager and was asked to leave my number and no one has called. I’m very disappointed in this company since the concept of using used plastic bottles is fantastic. I have to say buyer beware!!!!

We ordered weeks ago so the gift would be here by Christmas and it arrived today... a day after Christmas. Should it take almost a month for such expensive shoes to arrive? ALSO! They sent the wrong size! They refused to answer our multiple emails. They are horrible!
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service; Just placed order and tried to modify size after placing order 10 min ago. Spoke with 5 customer reps, after talking with her 45 min later after asking for all my information for the change in order. She tells me she can't modify the order, cancel it, can't change the size, really can't do anything but waste time. But to call back again when I receive it to discuss changing the size. Why would I do that again? Why would you keep the customer on the line to tell them they can't do anything and somehow after getting the order they can actually do something. This is the first order after much anticipation and will likely be the last. I'm very sad and disappointed. I was expecting service similar to Allbirds. NOT EVEN CLOSE.
Check your Gift Cards!
People! If you order a Rothy's gift card please check the balance before you gift it. Don't just assume everything is as it should be. My $125 gift card arrived today with a card number the website repeatedly stated was not found when I attempted to verify the balance. I contacted customer service and again the rep could not pull up the card in the system. They quickly mailed a replacement but what a potential embarrassment had I not checked. Not cool.
Will not buy because of Customer "Service"
Rothy's "Customer Service" has ensured that I will never purchase from this company again. Ever. I had issues with sizing as the 1st pair of plastic shoes arrived larger than expected. The return, 1/2 size smaller, was much larger. In my call asking for help w/sizing (go down 1/2 or whole size) I was told in one conversation that Rothy's: Run big; run small; are consistent; are inconsistent; often vary not only from pair-to-pair but shoe-to-shoe within a pair; the company produces many lemons & it is a gamble finding the right pair; and...maybe my feet are shrinking & growing. Within a week? Further, I was promised follow up by a manager by the end of the business day. Never happened.
Three exchanges and no shoes later I am very upset with script - reading "I understand your frustration" robots that simply tell me to call later as well as form email replies. In the mean time, I found a comparable pair on, yes, Amazon that seem just fine. Also over a hundred dollars less.
I don't care if these shoes, if I ever receive a pair that fits (both of my feet which grow & shrink daily) are the answer to all of my shoes problems. The people they hire have ensured that I will never buy again.
Oh yes, one "lady" said to me "of course Rothy's are waterproof. Plastic is waterproof."

Honestly there are no words for the customer service which is a shame because their shoes are really great. I placed an order for a pair of shoes and a physical gift card for friend for her birthday. I paid for two day shipping and didn’t hear anything for almost a week. Finally reached out for them to tell me that they would process it immediately. Fast forward to a week later and they still weren’t there so I had to order a digital gift card for my friend. Finally received my original package and they do not let you return gift cards. I understand this, so I went to use the gift card only to find out that my money has not been loaded on it?? Called them and voiced my concerns. They ultimately fixed the issue but did not offer me anything in return for two terrible experiences. Again their shoes are great but I would not waste your time.
A bad experience
Ordering a gift from Rothy's turned into an unpleasant experience.and I will not do business with them again. The order form is unclear and when I immediately called customer service to verify, I was told that I would be receiving the gift and I would just have to mail it myself to the recipient and that customer service could not and would not make any corrections even though I had just placed the order. I then cancelled the order and was told that all such sales are nonrefundable - even though I had received nothing. I recommend you not deal with this company, it has no actual customer service that helps, and they make no attempt to improve. As I say, it was an unpleasant experience and I will so advise all I know.
Rothy customer service is the worst
Rothy customer service is the worst! I ordered gift cards and they sent the wrong amount. I have contacted them three times and after being on hold for over 20 minutes I'm told someone will be calling me back and that I will also be receiving a e-mail. Thus far no call back and no e-mail.
I've taken the matter up with AMEX and I know they will get the issue resolved.

Literally the WORST customer service. Several people have been waiting on orders to ship for 2-3 weeks. Rothy's said there was a shipping issue and apologized, but they then rolled out a whole new line of shoes which people are ordering and are having shipped almost immediately. What about your backlog?? Meanwhile I've been waiting 2 weeks for shoes that were NOT a new release and should have been shipped quickly and that I already was charged $145 for. This is the last time I shop Rothy's. When I ask customer service their response is "it's still processing". Right... it's been processing but you are filling new orders fast? This isn't a small company anymore. They charge a ridiculous amount for their shoes and made close to $150 million last year. Get it together. But either way I will not be shopping here or recommending them.
