I listed my campker on sevral sites. I had hardly any inquiries from RV Trader. I actually had at least 40 inquires on Facebook marketplace and only a few from RV Tarder. I woud never use them again. Even with a $200 to listt it! That was a waste of money. FB was free! I woud steer clear of this site for listings.

I would never post on RVtrader.com again. I sold my 2020 Rpod 172 on Craigslist.com RVtrader was expensive and the ONLY contacts I received were from scammers trying to steal my information by asking me to purchase a vehicle history report through various sketchy links they would send me. It was a terrible experience and so much more costly. With Craigslist I received contacts from real people who were local and not scammers. I sold it in 10 days to someone who contacted me through Craigslist.

I placed an ad on RV trader. The ad cost $219. After placing the ad I realized I was not getting any responses from any potential buyers. I did a search online and I saw some very disturbing reviews indicating that private sellers were not getting any action on their ads either.
I decided to investigate further. I did a search for an RV similar to mine and all the results came back were from dealers. Mine was not amongst the search. I searched it this way a few times and still could not locate mine which I just paid to list. After much more research, I discovered that RV trader search defaults to dealers. If a potential buyer does not (opt out) or (X-out) the dealer default option, that's all they are going to see. This keeps the private seller a disadvantage when listing their RV. I emailed RV TWICE and they have not responded to my inquiry about this. There are almost 200,000 RV listed on RV trader. If this is their practice, then they are deceiving the private seller and keeping the private seller at a substantial disadvantage.
I filed a complaint with the BBB to which RV Trader offered a refund. Still waiting. That hasn't happened either! Do yourself a favor.....RUN away from this company!

Update: 7/29/25 they did refund me as a result of my complaint, but that does not rectify their serious issue with the website.

I find the information on rvtrader.com to be a great reference point as we consider a recreational vehicle purchase. Congrats to the team.

I was recommended to this site to sell my RV. They promise that the RV will be featured on the front page of their site, along with other specifics, and that was not the case! It only shows up once someone searches the specific size and location. I got exactly one inquiry within the month or so I had my subscription, and ended up selling my trailer through other means. When I asked for a refund based on them not providing what was paid for, they refused. DO NOT USE THIS SITE! False advertising and waste of time and money as far as I'm concerned!

My Honest Experience with RVTrader

I paid $160 to list my truck camper on RVTrader expecting a professional service that would connect me with real buyers. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing from start to finish.

• Only Scam Inquiries: Every response I received appeared to be from scammers or time-wasters. I never heard from a legitimate buyer.
• Technical Issues: The mobile app was buggy and unreliable. I couldn’t update my listing description, even though I followed all guidelines. It felt like I had no real control over my own ad. I can’t change my email, I can’t change the password, and my description was changed without my permission and other issues, etc.

• No Real Support: I reached out to customer service multiple times with no solutions. One customer service operator said that they would notify the I.T. department — that didn’t help either. Their limited hours and lack of follow-up made it nearly impossible to get help.
• Private Listings Get Buried: From what I observed, the site is dominated by dealership ads, making it hard for private listings like mine to stand out.

You don’t get all this frustration with a FREE ADD listing.

I’ve since filed a credit card dispute. The app simply will not work, as if it was hacked. The website doesn’t sync with the app. I’m not the only one — there are similar complaints online. In my opinion, RVTrader seems to be turning a blind eye to these issues.

As someone who edits video, runs a YouTube channel, and knows how to use technology, I can confidently say something is interfering with my ability to control my own account. These issues only happen here on this phone app and website. I hope this helps others make an informed decision.

Who would be interested in all this effort to hinder private sellers I wonder ?

Not a good experience ! Total time wasting , The overall process is poor and cannot be put on par with TREATY.

Hassle free and good pay

I shoulda checked here first before shelling $329 out for a 12 month ad. They gave me 3mo, then not only could I not renew the listing, it was completely deleted. All the photos, all the description, gone! To use the year a person jas to keep all that info themselves and recreate the ad. Shysters! What a dent in the AutoTrader brand.

Not to mention the ad didn't perform at all and no help from them, no suggestions, just take the money and run. Good luck customer!

I have advertised with RVTrader a few times and absolutely the worst customer service. They outright lied to me when they told me that they would extend my ad at the cost difference from basic to the premium if we did not sell in 3 months. Scam, now they changed that policy just before I was going to renew. Not paying another $345 especially when noting ever comes of it. Only 1 response, and the same thing with the other 2 x's I placed an ad. Don't waste your money with RVT, maybe National Vehicle is better, but remember you get what you pay for. Not so cheap RVT and no customer service. Scam

Absolute worst waste of money. Application is garbage. I don't get notifications from app whenever someone is interested. Apparently that function is only available for commercial sellers. Such BS. I got like 20 missed interests. Reached out to their garage customer service and they were unable to solve. You only get notifications through email which is outdated. Such a scummy service in general. Total waste of money.

Listed my ad on RV Trader for 5 weeks. Could not find my ad in two different types of searches of their site. Recieved NO contacts for my ad. Finally sold my RV via Facebook Marketplace, still never had a contact from RV Trader. They refused a refund despite me being able to prove with screenshots that my ad was not showing up.

We had an interested buyer and couldn't access their inquiry. Contacted RV trader via email, phone and chat to NO AVAIL!!
Paid good money and got no assistance on our problem. I will never use it again.

It's really expensive and not a great value at all. I've had zero inquiries. Ran the exact same ad on FB Marketplace and Cragslist, which cost $5 combined (Craigslist fee), and had far more inquiries. FB Marketplace & Craigslist allow you to upload the same number of pics for free or near-free for which RV Trader charges $150, and does it without inserting promotions for themselves in the middle of your photo montage. It cost $150 to get an ad RV Trader that was buried 5 pages deep, & that was when I did a search within 50 miles of my home.

THEY STOLE MY MONEY. I PUT AND ADD TO SELL A RV NO RESPONSE TRIED TO FIND MY ADD NOT THERE I CALLED THEM YOU HAVE TOO TYPE THE YEAR THE LENGTH THE MAKE MODEL TO BE FOUND WOULDN'T YOU LOOK FOR RVS WITH 100 MILES OF ME! NO REFUND

We had the same issues with messages not going through after paying almost $700.00. WE ARE working with attorneys to file a lawsuit against them. I know of several other folks who I've spoken too that are considering doing the same. Unacceptable.

RV Trader, without a doubt, should be sued and made to settle a class action lawsuit for their faulty website functionality. I paid $400 for an "Enhanced" package. I was not getting very many messages for the RV I posted for sale. So I reduced the price twice. Then someone messaged me that they had been trying to contact me but never heard from me. Then another person messaged me asking why I hadn't responded ot them. I made a throw-away RV Trader account and messaged myself as if I were a buyer interested in purchasing the RV I have posted for sale. The message did not go through. I have made 3 tech issue requests to RV Trader over the past month and have not gotten a response. If you Google this issue, others have made the same complaint (look at Reddit). Furthermore, I'm convinced that they use AI bots for about 95% of their work-- including the automatically generated responses to complaints here. Good luck ever getting a response from an actual human.

Worthless site both from a buying and selling perspective. Filters are impossible to work with from a buying perspective. From a selling perspective it was waste of money and time.

Their filters are pointless and non-functioning. When selecting a unit to look at then clicking back to continue to search takes you back to the top of the search page, so you have to scroll past everything, time after time.
