I rented a car for 22 days. After return, I was automatically charged AED 6,983.55 for alleged excess mileage.

The company claimed 9,602 km total mileage, equal to about 436 km/day.

I requested:
- pickup odometer proof
- return odometer proof
- full mileage calculation
- trip data

I did not receive satisfactory evidence for such a large charge.

Future customers should carefully review mileage limits, deposits, and automatic charge clauses.

NEVER rent a car from SelfDrive.ae – SCAMMERS!

I was a loyal client of this company for 2 years while renting a car in Dubai — everything was fine as long as I was paying them.

In November 2025, I cancelled my contract.
For the past 5 months, I have been trying to get my AED 2,000 deposit back.

At the beginning, they attempted to charge me AED 1,800 for a minor accident, despite the fact that I had full comprehensive insurance, which should have covered all repairs.
I had to open a case with Dubai Consumer Rights, and only after that did they cancel the charges.

I have called them dozens of times — they drop calls, transfer me to the wrong departments, or promise to call back the next day and never do. It feels like they are doing everything possible to avoid refunding me.

The worst part is that they don’t even have a physical office, so you have very limited options to recover your money.

Not to mention unjustified charges for unknown reasons, including AED 500 for a car wash.

Avoid this company.
