There's a few problems with my experience with this app.
First is the interface, there's so much clutter everywhere in the app (too many non essential pages) and popup videos on every product page doesn't immediately close down when you click that *tiny (x) button*.
Second is the app's "similar product" or "similar reviews" feature that's always on and zero option to filter it. While similar reviews are helpful at giving you some idea, they don't make a shop with unknown reputation reliable.
Last is the built-in ShopeePay inaccessible outside of phones and is being hostile to modified phones (root/jailbroken or custom ROM). Sure a modified device is "less secure" but locking me out and not giving me an option to at least proceed with risk is rather too much.

My experience with Shopee Philippines has been a nightmare of technicalities and support malpractice. As a professional with a background in Customer Service leadership, I can state with certainty that Shopee’s current dispute resolution model is designed to protect the platform's cash flow over the consumer’s legal rights.

1. The "Return Window" Trap: Shopee utilizes a rigid 5-day return shipping window. Sellers exploit this by stalling the buyer with "troubleshooting" requests or low-ball partial refund offers until the window expires. Once it does, the system automatically releases payment to the seller, and Shopee claims they are "powerless" to help, even when provided with video evidence of the defect.

2. Incompetent & Hostile Support: I dealt with multiple agents and supervisors regarding three separate defective items (Solar Fan, 5G SIM, and a Monitor). The support team provided blatantly contradictory information—claiming in one instance that a refund failed due to "non-return" and in another that it was "already returned." When I pressured leadership for a real-time resolution or a "Goodwill" voucher, supervisors resorted to threats of terminating the chat session rather than solving the problem.

3. Lack of Seller Accountability: Sellers are permitted to delete product listings during active disputes, effectively evading negative feedback and warranties. Shopee facilitates this by refusing to freeze funds during a manual escalation.

This is a clear violation of the Consumer Act of the Philippines and the Internet Transactions Act of 2023. I am filing a formal complaint with the DTI and NTC. Do not trust this platform with electronics; they prioritize automated scripts over basic consumer law.

My order have been on “Delivery Rider assigned” talked to 3 live agents with the same issue still no update. and order didn’t moved an inch. lol these agents aren’t helpful at all!

Shopee siguradong mura voucher lately is a scam. I successfully got the voucher but within 5 seconds the vouchers are gone? So we investigated, we tried severa times, like we are 10 sometimes 12 in our office, we successfully had the voucher then even within 3 seconds at checkout all the vouchers are fully redeemed? All 100 fully redeemed in 3 seconds? We think there is some kind of hocus pocus

Today is supposed to be when my parcel is to be delivered. Their SPX delivery is just inconvenient, to some platform there are infos though minimal but atleast would guarantee both ends but there's just rider nickname and that's it. Thought that it was kinda good feature for their rider message feature or rider's not utilizing it well, but no communication sent, sent the rider availability to receive the parcel no response, just waited for parcel to get delivered which just got returned at the end of the day to the hub. Just would rant about this Cebu NRA Hub, this has been multiple times, mostly, where I have issues with the delivery of my parcels and as usual reached out to CS but to no avail, just made my frustration escalate as responses are bot and auto, even answered unnecessarily and even closed the chat quickly without having to get in contact with a live agent. Immediately cancelled the autorenewal for recurring shopee VIP, thought would give this platform a chance this time but surely it's just so bad.

Very disappointed and pissed with the collection team or whoever is the team who does the calling for payment reminders. They called me 10x in a day, every hour! Same script and sarcastic. Seems intentionally done to annoy me. Well, great job! I AM SUPER ANNOYED! CS as well is not helpful at all. My request and concern are still pending resolution.

Shopee needs to improve their customer service and process. We ordered a washing machine that arrived late and defective, showing no proper quality check. The worst part is their return process. For big items, there’s no pick-up option—you must self-arrange a courier and return the product to the brand’s warehouse, not any nearby Shopee or courier hub, before getting a refund. Beware.

Odered a seat cover from shopee for my mio soul i 125 ,which was stated on sellars listing ,was two opions one with velcro staps and one for stapels ,choose velcro ,arrived good time ,doesnt fit as to small on sides and way to short in length ,why is shopee allowing these crap sellers to sell merchandise ,which is not as stated on there page should be banned ,gusse they dont care so long as they getting money for crap thats sold 👿🤬

THE WORST! lalo na yung SPaylater budol yan! 1 month daw pero may naka tago pala na billing cycle kung mag oorder ka from 30th of last month upto 5th of the current month magrereflect yun sa bill mo on the 15th. Oh dba scam? Pano kung di mo napansin edi penalty charges kana? BUDOL talaga!

I’ve had many issues with Shopee, especially with regards to returns and refunds.

The latest issue is a parcel that has been sitting in the delivery hub for around a week - most likely lost.

The Shopee app said I could request a refund if the item doesn’t arrive by the guaranteed delivery date. When that date came, they suddenly changed the date - preventing me from applying for a refund.

Then when I raised a support ticket; they said to wait for another 5 days.

The item is obviously lost but they’re not willing to process the refund as promised by their app.

Customer Service is awful!! They don't take ownership and blame the problem to their customers. Also, they don't put phone numbers of the delivery riders as reference for contact!!! So buyer be sure that if the rider charged you triple to the amount of your order, it's you or someone from your family that received your package fault!! Not taking responsibility for their carrier inappropriate actions!!!! They just resolved your cases in 3 replies and blame you for everything not even taking the long time shopper's word!!! Ohh btw lot of their sellers are scams, even the preferred ones. 🤬🤬

Shopee: The One-Stop Shop for Getting Scammed — Twice!

Shopee is absolutely infested with scammer accounts who rip you off without a second thought. And if you dare to file for a refund? Get ready for a marathon of frustration that’ll drain your time, energy, and sanity.

But wait, the fun doesn’t stop there — after all that effort, Shopee themselves swoop in to rob you again with their sneaky hidden fees. Unlike Lazada (which, by the way, actually understands the concept of “customer service” and refunds the full amount hassle-free), Shopee makes sure you don’t get your full refund. So congratulations, you just got scammed twice — once by the seller, and again by Shopee. Bravo.

And what happens to the scammer after you’ve proven your case and reported him? Nothing. The account stays up, business as usual. Shopee apparently thinks enabling scammers is good for business.

Here’s my personal “Shopee Experience”: I ordered a branded automatic diver’s watch for ₱5,024. What I got was a cheap, no-name Chinese quartz junk worth maybe ₱200. After a week and a half of emails, arguments, and return procedures, I finally got a “refund” of ₱4,766 — because apparently Shopee charges ₱258 for the privilege of being scammed on their platform.

In short: the site’s a scam, the sellers are crooks, and Shopee’s right there joining the party. Thanks for nothing, Shopee. Never again.

Meanwhile, over at Lazada — I’ve been ordering for over 10 years, and not once have I been scammed. Damaged item? Refund in an hour. Imagine that — efficiency and honesty. Two things Shopee’s clearly allergic to.

definitly better than lazada but still bad. IT would be very easy on their end to remove all the scams, I could basically program it in two days.

Biggest scam website on the internet..... 75-90% of orders, are something different than the advertisement (bait and switch), they advertise a nice item and u receive something completely different, a piece of junk or missing parts,or defective or damaged in shipping.... AND SHOPEE KNOWS THIS, BUT THEY LIKE TO STEAL OUR MONEY, I HAVE COMPLAINED DOZENS OF TIMES BUT THEY DO NOTHING TO PREVENT SCAM SELLERS

My item has been sitting in the delivery hub since Sept 27. Status has not been moving. They claim delivery within 24-48 hours once in the delivery hub. I requested for expedite and was guaranteed delivery on Sept 30. Its Oct 1 no delivery was made.

SHOPEE PHILIPPINES’ CUSTOMER SERVICE IS DIABOLICAL. IT’S FUNNY ALREADY HOW INCOMPETENT THEY ARE. I’m too tired to write the details of their worst customer service agents. Oh and also, the agents are LYING to the customer!

Shopee has been my go-to app for almost everything. Super convenient, lots of affordable finds, and deliveries are usually fast. I like how easy it is to track orders, and the vouchers help me save a lot. Never had issues so far, really reliable for online shopping.

My experience buying on this platform has been average sometimes good, sometimes terrible. You’re lucky if you ever find a seller who is willing to refund your money for a parcel lost in transit, and if the courier is reliable enough to deliver on time

My account level before is Gold and I have a delayed payment to Shopee Pay Program and my level was set to Silver. It is unfair.
