Harsha take care of my rental with professionalism, experience and always with the smile. He give me a 5 stars treatment and he was always available in order to make my rental comfortable.

Nice guy at the counter + nice car for me (booked Toyota Camry got BMW 2 series) = nice experience and a happy repeat customer!! (disclaimer sixt yyz is currently an off airport location there is a shuttle though. the manager claims they won the bid for a spot in 2026.... so things may change in the future overall though they are great)

Location is a bit harder to find than other offices as it is inside the building down the escalators. You have to pay active attention to find it immediately.

I booked car rental thru Expedia in this Sixt Co located in Downtown Calgary. I was planning to visit Waterton NP as well as Glacier part in US. Before that I was calling Sixt to make sure I can cross the border of USA. I received positive response. When I was trying to pick up the car, I asked again the same question to the guy who did the paperwork, and he confirmed I can do it on my responsibility. Then I was serving by a guy named Raahal who said I cannot cross the border, and he will not rent me a car. I said I was just asking and if I cannot not. He replied, "he does not believe me", and I was without car. That IDIOT ruined my whole vacation. He was rude and try to call customer service threatening person who said I can do it. I think he supposed to be immediately FIRED. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!

Rented a car from Sixt Vancouver downtown for a month. After I returned the car, they charged me an additional amount which was not related to any accidentals. I already left their office when I saw the charge. When I repeatedly emailed them about it, they said they have recalculated fees and taxes which led to an additional amount. This is a big scam. No basis for the charge. Have been renting cars in Canada with Dollar, Thrift and Economy and it has never happened to me. Avoid this company.

Luckily I did not book for the new Sixt office downtown Calgary for a week rental to Denver. Normally Budget and others allow easy use in the USA and Montana is 3 hours south. The expedia sit had a great introductory rate for Sixt in Alberta but the fine print was vague on geographical restrictions. I went to Sixt website and it had a bizarre list of states you could drive through if you rented in Alberta. This is from the sixt.ca website and customer support confirmed you cannot drive in Wyoming or Montana, the two states needed to get to Utah and Colorado from Alberta.
"If rented in Province of Alberta you are restricted to only drive in Arizona (AZ), California (CA), Colorado (CO), Nevada, (NV), Oregon (OR), Utah (UT) and Washington (WA)." This is about the dumbest launch of a new business I've seen. For an international company like Sixt you would get hit with penalties and fees most likely for violating the terms and conditions. Most people won't look but the GPS monitoring will surely kick in. Don't get sucked into Sixt's dumb terms in Alberta if traveling south.

UPDATE Aug 8 2025: Sixt confirms that Montana is prohibited for cars rented from Calgary. However, you can drive an extra 1000 miles to reach Denver by going west to Washington state. If it didn't come from Sixt I would not have believed a company could be that geographically challenged:

This is intentional, Montana is a prohibited state to drive the vehicle through when renting from that location [Calgary]. Renting from that branch, you can enter the USA through Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, and then cross into Colorado. More information can found be in the SIXT Rental Information page.
