Skin laundry review
Hello,
I’d like to share my experience with Skin Laundry.
I started my membership 3 months ago to address hormonal acne. I was presented with 3 different membership options: Prevent and Protect $150, Correct and Maintain $250 and Refine and Enhance $350, all requiring a 4 month commitment. The recommended I star with the Correct and Maintain plan and she clearly told me that I could switch plans at ANY TIME. My plan offered more than one laser treatment designed to address not only acne but also scarring, skin texture and pigmentation. However what they didn’t tell me was that as long as I had active acne , I was limited to 1 specific laser treatment; I had yo wait until my acne cleared up completely before I could access the other treatments included in my membership.
3 months later, I still have acne :( My skin improved a little, but I am still getting breakouts. I am not happy with the results and I am limited to what I can use in regards of my membership. I decided to downgrade my membership. I called and I was told that I cannot change my membership until I completed the 4 month commitment.
I made my final payment a few days ago and asked to cancel my membership; they offered a better price to stay and a free peel that would “help” improve my skin (I had 3 of those already) but I would have to commit to another 4 months 🤦🏻♀️ It makes no sense to keep paying for something that isn’t delivering results and can’t get value from.
In conclusion, If you decide to get treatment with them, I recommend reading the contract in detail before signing, understand what each membership offers, and ensure that treatments included in your chosen membership are actually suitable for your skin so you can get your money worth.
Horrendous manager and multiple mistakes
I had a Power Duo facial treatment, and afterward I was offered two laser treatments for $250, valid within the next two months. I agreed and paid.
Two weeks later, I received an offer for a discounted membership at $175. I contacted the clinic to ask whether I could sign up even though I had already paid for the two laser treatments. I was told, *"We can refund you for the lasers and sign you up for the membership."* I agreed.
From that point on, the entire experience became a complete circus.
They immediately charged me for the membership but said they couldn't process the refund until the following day because someone else had to do it. The next day came, no refund. I reached out again and was told it was "complicated" and the manager needed to help.
Later, they claimed the refund had been processed. I checked my account: nothing. I asked for proof of the refund, and they sent me documentation showing they had refunded the money to a **gift card**. The problem? I have never purchased or owned a SkinLaundry gift card in my life.
I called and texted repeatedly, explaining that my bank had confirmed they had never received a refund. Instead of investigating, I was repeatedly told everything had been processed and made to feel like I was overreacting.
The following day, I received another message saying they couldn't process the refund because I had originally paid with a gift card. Once again, I explained that this was impossible. I even asked them to review their security cameras and transaction records, because I had paid with my credit card.
Only then did the manager acknowledge that this was an error on their end. What was most disappointing wasn't just the multiple mistakes, it was the complete lack of accountability.
Because I relied on their repeated assurances that my refund had been processed (including sending me false proof of a refund), I am now getting charged $200 in late payment fees by my bank.
The manager's response? "We didn't know you would want your refund so quickly." Now having to waiting weeks for money that never should have been taken in the first place is not a customer's fault. This wasn't one mistake. This was a chain of errors over several days:
* They promised a refund they didn't process.
* They falsely claimed it had been refunded.
* They provided proof of a refund to a gift card I have never owned.
*They charged me through a gift card even though I paid through my credit card.
* They repeatedly ignored my concerns until they realised they couldn't process my refund.
* Only after multiple calls and messages did they admit the mistake.
Despite all of this, I received no meaningful apology, no compensation for the financial consequences they caused, and was instead offered a corporate check that could take weeks to arrive.
Whoever is managing this clinic should seriously reconsider how customer issues are handled. When you realize that you and your colleagues made 4 mistakes in 3 different days, are costing someone 200$, you take accountability, apologize and offer something to the client. When your team makes repeated mistakes that cost a customer money, you take responsibility, you don't gaslight them, dismiss their concerns, and make them fight for their own refund.
I have every text message and written communication documenting this entire experience and would be happy to share them. I sincerely hope someone from corporate sees this review, investigates what happened, and reviews the camera footage and recordings so they can see what customers are promised versus what is actually entered into the system.
This experience has completely destroyed my trust in SkinLaundry and needless to say I cancelled my membership.
Poor Customer Service
I was very disappointed with the customer service I received at Skin Laundry. The staff seemed uninterested in addressing my concerns and communication was poor throughout my experience. Questions about treatments and scheduling were met with vague responses, and I did not feel valued as a customer. Additionally, resolving issues took much longer than expected, with little follow-up or accountability from the team. While the treatments themselves may be beneficial for some, the lack of professionalism and customer care made the overall experience frustrating. I hope Skin Laundry invests more in staff training and customer service so future clients receive the level of attention and respect they deserve.
I was terrible disappoint on this…
I was terrible disappoint on this location in the Woodlands. I was there. Receptionist was very rude. Did not greet me. Do not say hello. Welcome in nothing like that at all. I was 12 minutes late for my appointment not 15 minutes by 12 minutes. She had a long face give me a very ugly look. I told her that I was a little bit late due to my no problem I had with my foot. I was walking really slow. I had orthopedic boot on. She did not care. Seems like she just said that I would that I would not be able to be so they won’t be able to see me because they were. They had other people and they were right on schedule yeah so the Customer Service was very disappointed to me. I think that I will not be coming to this location. I was very disappointed at the Customer Service the receptionist had no reason to not acknowledge me or greet me or I don’t know. I felt like she was a little bit racist in fact I am Latino and I guess I was in the WOODLANDS and maybe she thought I wasn’t gonna be able to pay who knows anyhow I feel very sad that this is happening in there in this location.
Unprofessional and rude customer…
Unprofessional and rude customer service, misleading ads on facebook and social media.
Stay away ****unprofessional *** attract with low prices to just bring the customer in.
2nd degree burns and scarring and terrible customer service
I received burns to my face from their laser. Severe blistered angry bright white fluid filled burns that left scarring on my face. Their customer service was incredibly disappointing. They offered me “enhancements on my next treatment. I tried to contact customer service at corporate to be told this is to be handled at the clinic level. They refuse to address the seriousness of my burns and the subsequent scarring I now have on my face
Waste of Time and Money
I signed up for the skin treatment with a lot of hope , but just a waste of time and money. It's nothing but a marketing gimmick.
It was quick, sad waste of money
It was quick. The girls were ok. The treatment did nothing. They asked me to sign up… asked for a tip. Do you tip your dermatologist. One laser type only. I wanted to give them 1 star but usually give good reviews, beware. Spent money on NOTHING!
I hate that I have to give them a star.
I hate that I have to give them a star! I signed up for this program with high hopes. They conveniently cancel Friday appointments (and make you schedule your appointments two weeks out), they set the laser so low you can’t tell a difference. Buyer beware and do your homework before committing to this place. Waste of time and $$.
Questionable Sales Approach
I tried Skin Laundry for their introductory $50 facial—honestly, it was fine, but nothing special or worth going out of your way for.
What really disappointed me was the lack of transparency around their membership. I was encouraged to sign up for a monthly subscription at a reduced rate, but no one clearly explained that it required a 4-month commitment or that the price would increase after the first month. When I noticed the charge and called to cancel, I was told I couldn’t—which felt incredibly misleading.
The staff were pleasant enough, but not knowledgeable. Both front desk employees openly shared that they were brand new and weren’t able to answer basic questions. During checkout, they were distracted—talking to each other and other customers—so there was no real opportunity to get clarity on what I was signing up for.
Overall, this felt like subpar service for an average treatment wrapped in a very questionable sales approach. I would strongly recommend reading the fine print and asking very direct questions before agreeing to anything here. Be careful.
I had a very disappointing experience…
I had a very disappointing experience with Skin Laundry, mainly due to their membership policies and cancellation process.
I signed up expecting a straightforward skincare service, but it operates more like a pyramid scheme with a minimum commitment and automatic renewals.
Facials are supposed to be "unlimited" with your membership however you are only allowed to go every 10-14 days and they last a mere 15 minutes. I've seen ZERO CHANGE in my skin after 3 months (even though their "progress photos" will try to tell you otherwise...umm..hello retouching?)
I would strongly encourage anyone considering signing up to fully understand the contract terms, especially around billing, minimum commitments, and cancellation requirements.
Overall, this experience felt more focused on enforcing the contract than on customer care. DO NOT get sucked into this.
Bait and Switch Tactics
I went in to the Victoria Gardens Rancho Cucamonga location in January 2026 based on a Facebook ad. I got there everything was just okay. I asked for a sample and the young barely gave me any product that was a sign! Then the young lady told me about the membership. She said you can get two services per month and I said ok. Then I asked for copies of the documents I signed and I received a receipt emailed to me.. that was the second sign to NOT do business with Skin Laundry! When I added it when I got home, you're paying over $1000 for only two hours of services in a 4 month period. I was unable to receive services in February, however, when I called on March 1st to make an appointment, I was told the services don't rollover. So they got $250 and I got nothing!
First Hand Experience
Organization : easily 35 minutes past schedule without any communication to me
Staff : I was never told that one of the staff was a HCP for legal reasons and adherence to laws
Equipment : used one laser on my initial visit while aggressively pushing the stronger laser … so awkward !
I could hear the aggressive sales pitch to others as I waited so when it came to me , same pitch … knew the whole story … not unique to me bc heard it 3 X in previous 30 minutes
New location : heard opening in Woodlands … beware ! … the laws of the state will catch up with this game
I went there for 6 months
I went there for 6 months. No one told me that my 4 months were up (and they are supposed to tell the client). I had no results at all. I was told during consultation that my dark spots would go away and definitely see results by 4 months. I kept going 2 more months in addition hoping to see my few dark spots to fade. I have no fading of my few dark spots at all.. even when the “technitions” (rn’s?) would go over and over my dark spots at each treatment date. I was not told about the late time of 5-7mins, and I would wait after being 5 mins late to be seen??? Each tech tells u a different story and recommends many many of their products. I was told the lasers alone would fade my spots. After 4 months I’m told to get their serum.. I dint buy it. I had a different tech ev time and learned that some
We’re let go, the one I liked then the next treatment they no longer worked there. Are all of them really a certified rn or na? I beg to differ. I had one tech (my last treatment becaue I was over their lies) text while she was doing my duo and went super fast becaue she had no time. When I was done she took her friends into another room. No one was waiting in the waiting room for another client to come in. She could not do my hands , which I had my hands done every time but this woman said it was not in her list on my treatment that day. I was never ever told that some techs would say “no”. I paid $250 for a quick crappy duo. Was in her treatment room (the rooms suck btw, noisy, uncomfortable and cold, dirty beds). When I signed up I was told the exact opposite of what happened. I was told I would have the same tech. A lie. And that I would see a huge difference in my dark spots with just the lasers alone. The manager pretends to be so nice and in the end when you tell them why you are u unhappy they pull out some info verbally that you never ever heard before when they sign u up w all smiles. This place is like a scam. Pop up bs. I do NOT recommend for someone to spend their hard earned money on these lasers. And how do we know how high or low the settings are, especially when you get a different tech each time. They rush u in and out even if you are waiting on them! When you try to talk to the manager she does not answer your questions, it’s like a game of ignoring and then telling you things that you had no idea of from when they lied to you to sign up. There is no manager to contact higher up nor a number or ceo to contact. The manger says that they are the last and only person to deal with. What kind of business is this? I am filing a complaint with the better business bureau when I get some extra time. This business is just machines (how do we know what they r setting them at or doing correctly?). They said my pores would get smaller. lol what a joke. 6 treatments and nothing! My face is the same. It’s just not an honest place to go. And it’s way too expensive to spend $250 on one duo (which I never know they switched me to) treatment for 10 mins. Don’t waste your money on this business that has no clue what there are doing. Too many hands in the cookie jar! I would never recommend anyone I know to ever try it. Fake false lies is what happened to me. What a shame for me to trust this pop up company.
Save your money and go to a real reputable rn and office where you actually know the staff. They jerk you around and use reverse phsychology type techniques verbally when you tell them your experience was terriblea and lies about results. This message is too long but I could go on and on about this business that has no business ripping people off!
Really horrible with cancellation…
Really horrible with cancellation policies. They make it VERY INCONVENIENT for you to be able to withdraw from subscription even beyond the 4 month trial you have to go through first to be able to cancel. I lost my job and was unable to make any further payments and they STILL made it impossible to cancel. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE. Laser Results are... meh. Better options out there for your money.
I purchased a subscription and felt scammed
I purchased a subscription and the laser I like broke. I had months of credits waiting for the laser to be fixed. I lost all the credits when I had to cancel my subscription because it became clear that they weren't updating their equipment. Felt really scammed. The new manager was rude and dismissive. This is for the Tribeca store in the U.S.
I felt like I got scammed at Skin…
I felt like I got scammed at Skin laundry Biltmore. I got skin laser from the $75 promo they’re having for first time customers and it didn’t feel like a laser at all. It just felt like something was blowing hot air on my face, pretty weird.
The staff are nice, but I can’t believe they are still in business after all the bad reviews I’ve read. Which I should have done before I booked the appointment. What a waste of my money and time.
I started going to the Highlands
I started going to the Highlands, Denver location in 2024 for hyperpigmentation concerns from cystic acne on my chin/nose area. Signed up for the membership in April 2024 and requested that it be cancelled that fall of 2024 via voicemail and texts (wouldn’t get an answer) as I was not happy with my results (felt like my hyperpigmentation was getting worse). I unfortunately did not follow up and continued being charged for the membership for multiple months (my fault as I didn’t check) and when I realized it, I called and they could not give me a refund as they couldn’t find record of my calls and texts but stated they would try and give me the number of services that equaled what I had been paying. I appreciated this and my first appointment back I spoke with the front desk in person to have my membership canceled in which the said they did. I also canceled the card that was setup to pay the membership fee. After a couple times I stopped going again as my skin was getting worse with dark spots. I received a text message today that my payment for my membership didn’t go through (since I canceled the card) and am now on my THIRD time requesting a cancellation. I checked the app and it still shows my membership is active. Extremely frustrating. I am eager to see if they answer back to my review stating there is no record of my cancellation requests.
It’s not worth the money at all for near to no results.
I think it’s important to get insights into honest unpaid reviews about Skin Laundry. I’m 40 years old and have been going to Skin Laundry for a year, my main concerns were hyperpigmentation and skin texture. After a full year of treatments I can honestly say I have seen no improvements, in fact I think my dark spots get a little darker after each visit. It’s a lot of money plus the outrageous tips ask to impose for so little to none results. The treatments are so short and brief, sometimes painful, it never feels like a pampering self care experience. For the total of damn near usd3500 I’ve spent with them this year, I could have gotten top of the line skincare products that would have done a lot more. Funny enough they do a lengthy intake questionnaire and photos when you sign up for a membership, but not once during this full year has anyone checked in with me to see how it’s progressing and whether the treatment plan needs to be adjusted to reach my goal. The staff have always been nice on my visits, but when I go for expensive facials I value results over service. Overall, I would not recommend this to anyone and have high doubts of the good reviews I see online plus magazine write ups.
