The Slate Workshop Reviews

Ben made me a beautiful slate memorial for my sister’s Ash plot. I wanted several animal motifs alongside the inscription to reflect the person she was. On seeing some of his previous work I could see how talented he was and that he was right for what I wanted. He responded promptly and came back within hours with a suitable design. The final slate was skilfully produced within a couple of days. It’s a fitting memorial. One lovely comment I have had since ‘It’s a beautiful piece that does and says so much with so little space’
Thank you Ben for what you created. I would have no hesitation in recommending you to others.

Made and supplied two bespoke signs in Welsh slate. The signs needed manufacturing to tight tolerances' within the restraints of a natural material. Supplied signs were exactly as requested with quick response to enquires and delivery. Other suppliers on the internet said they could do the work on enquires but when sent specifications advised they could not produce the signs.
Well recommended.

I can't rate The Slate Workshop highly enough. Would highly recommend.
We received a beautiful plaque, at a very fair price. However, what made the experience so good was Ben's support, good communication and service, right through the proofing process and the various changes I needed, all the way up to delivery.
We were working to really tight timescales and Ben managed to produce a beautiful plaque and get it delivered in time for our event too. I would have no qualms in using again in the future.

I would highly recommend Ben at The Slate Workshop. Took all my messages whilst he was away on his family holidays ( not many people would do that)… Amazing customer service. And super fast delivery

Superb craftsmanship in carving slate. Easy to speak to .Ben Thomas the craftsman. Prompt delivery of a heavy slate plaque, meticulously packed to avoid damage in transit.
A joy to deal with this company in every aspect

Just perfect workmanship!
We had a memorial slate from Ben nearly 10 years ago which was beautiful and still as good as new having been outside all that time so managed to track him down in order for a house sign for our new house.
Again Ben didn't disappoint.
Stunning workmanship.
Can thoroughly recommend.

Well yet again Ben has done a fantastic job. The timeframe was amazing and the quality outstanding. Ben went through every option that would work for my item and I never once felt pushed to buy or hurried on time. Considering it was a family members birthday thats quite something. Ben is not only an amazing craftsman but a really nice genuine man.

We are over the moon with our house name, it looks fab in gold leaf lettering. Perfectly executed from the font chosen and arrived quickly and really well wrapped. Ben was helpful and quick in replying to our enquiry. Would recommend to anyone looking for well made slat items.

Gave very helpful guidance, and showed examples of the work they undertake. Listened to our wishes and quickly resolved any questions we had, which made the whole experience easy. The costs were also understandable.

Ben provided us with a range of examples of his work and then produced images for our ideas; he provided them very promptly and was very tolerant of our changes of mind. The family were delighted with the plaque he produced - it was a beautiful and fitting memorial to a much loved and remarkable person.

I really appreciated all Ben's help as he produced the lovely memorial for my wife - He provides an excellent service - Thanks

We have met Ben at home, because we were in the neighbourhood and thought there was a physical shop.
He was very kind to us and helped us at his home workshop. Ben was also very thoughtful and helped us chose the options and emailed various designs the same day. We have chosen one of his propositions and we could arrange a moment for picking up when we leave for home again. 100% positive experience.

Absolutely top quality real craftsmanship and fantastic service.
If you want the best go to Ben at the slate workshop.

I have ordered slate house name plaques twice from Ben and have been really happy with both. I asked him to make the second set because I was so pleased with the first. The signs are well made, exactly as I requested and delivered in good time.

A fantastic super efficient service from Ben Thomas. Our slate door plaque needed the inlaid colour changing from gold to silver to match a new front door. We were delighted with the result which took under a week ftom start to finish. Could not recommend The Slate Workshop more highly.

Ben made me a new house plaque which was perfect. Excellent quality, very helpful and efficient. Highly recommend his work.

I ordered a new house sign from The Slate Workshop because I was impressed with all the very positive reviews. Ben most definitely deserves them. As I started with planning the sign, Ben was helpful by sending me examples of different fonts and images to help me visualise the end result. The sign arrived carefully wrapped and the finished product is absolutely wonderful! A very thick piece of beautiful slate skillfully carved.

We chose Ben to create a memorial slate for our dad. His response to our enquiry was fast and helpful. Offering recommendations and proofs easily. The quality of workmanship was excellent and the slate was delivered promptly. Thoroughly recommended & a pleasure to deal with.
