I called a few places for storing our newborns cells. Smartcells were quick to answer the phone and explain everything quickly. Once we bought the package they were quick to sort out collection with the appropriate people to be at the hospital on time. All very smooth and they have regular sales.

Amazing experience and seamless! On the day we didn’t need to worry about anything and they kept in touch on time and everything was very professional. Even following up after they were prompt with results as to what we collected and how. In the hospital the lady was very helpful and reassuring and working with our hospital midwives well.

Good level of technical information…
Good level of technical information given in response to queries before booking. Kit arrived promptly (although DHL courier communication re delivery was poor) and process of allocating phlebotomist and collecting kit after cell harvesting was seamless. Very good all round, would recommend.

Impressed from start to finish
We were impressed by the timely and thorough communication given by the sales team upon initial enquiry who gave detailed and bespoke answers to some very specific questions that we had. We were also extremely pleased with the phlebotomist organised by Smart Cells, who kept in touch with us in the run up to the birth and managed to collect a suitable sample for storage. We were able to organise the service less than two weeks before the due date, and the whole process was far less stressful on the day than we had anticipated for this type of complex and important service. Everything felt well-organised, which gave us confidence heading into delivery.
A standout part of the experience was the phlebotomist’s professionalism and care, both before and during the collection of the placenta and cord blood. They arrived promptly, explained each step with great clarity, and handled the procedure with sensitivity and precision. Their calm approach made what could have been a stressful moment feel completely seamless.
The service continued to impress after the birth. We received timely updates confirming the safe delivery, processing results and provide clarifications to our questions, and secure storage of the cord blood sample. It was reassuring to know exactly what was happening at every stage.
While the cost is significant, the quality of care, attention to detail, and peace of mind make it an excellent investment in our child’s future health options. Overall, I’d highly recommend this service, especially for parents who value professionalism, empathy, and medical accuracy during such an important moment.
