I received a PCN on the 28/02/2026. Despite numerous attempts to log in and pay it, their system gave me an error and told me to try again or call. Calling didn't work as the number doesn't work and no amount of emailing with photo evidence got their staff to respond in a way that would allow me to pay. I have since sent in 2 complaints to which no one has replied. Today I have been passed to debt collectors.
ALWAYS KEEP YOUR TICKET RECEIPT
I received 2 car park fines from Smart parking in 2021. One in May and one in November. I refused to pay both fines as luckily had kept hold of both tickets proving on both accounts that i had time left on my tickets. I sent an appeal letter to them with copies of both tickets with proof that i had 5 minutes left on 1 ticket and 40 minutes left on the other. They refused my appeal and stated that i must have used the wrong ticket machine. 5 years later they took me to court by using a Mediator phone call conversation saying they wanted £319 for each offence. I informed the Mediator of the proof i had in my possession and they called Smart parking back who returned saying they would accept £100. The conversation went back and forth. The Mediator reminded me that if i was to go before a Judge there would be court cost £250 in total. At this time after a 3 hour phone conversation and after having received over 30 threatening letters over the 5 year period i had had enough. I decided to make them an offer just to get rid of the stress this had caused me over the years. I offered the £40 which was accepted. I hated having to do this as i had done nothing wrong but i am 74 years old with a heart condition and did not need anymore stress. My suggestion to anyone using Smart parking ALWAYS KEEP YOUR PARKING TICKET and if you can NEVER USE THERE CAR PARKS. They are SCAMMERS

Da möchte ich mich mal den anderen Meinungen anschließen. Es werden wahllos an mich und weitere Personen Vertragsstrafen verschickt. Soweit ich weiß liegt wohl ein „Softwarefehler“ vor. Ich vermute jedoch Absicht, da es einfach nicht aufhört und inzwischen auch Mahnungen verschickt werden. Ich werde es ignorieren und vor Gericht gehen lassen. Einen Anwalt habe ich schon klar gemacht. Mein Tipp an alle: niemals bezahlen! Dann ist die Knete weg. Direkt zum Anwalt. Kosten etc. müssen gut dokumentiert sein, damit sie gegen Smart Parking geltend gemacht werden können. :-)

Received x5 separate parking charges from this absolute disgrace of a company. All for dates i had fully paid for (in advance) and actually paid extra (i normally use the car park from 7am until about 3pm for work, but pay from 6.30am to 6.30pm just to be safe (and always book 24hours in advance). Can evidence and have receipts for each. My work reimburse me for them, so would literally be no point in not paying. Absolute morons.

Disgusting company used by One Ashford!! Pay for private healthcare, which has always offered free car park. To be stung by this company as they have recently taken over the parking and receptionist fail to tell you, you now have to enter your vehicle registration. Proved I had an appointment, registration added or no registration added. Its the same outcome I was there for an appointment!!!

⭐ 1 Star – Legitimate visitor still charged despite proof
I received a parking charge after visiting the premises for a genuine treatment appointment. At the time, I was unaware that my vehicle needed to be registered.
When the charge arrived, I appealed immediately and provided clear evidence confirming I was attending treatment at the location during the time stated. Despite this proof, the appeal was rejected.
This raises serious concerns about the fairness of the process. If a legitimate visitor can provide evidence they were authorised to be there and the charge is still upheld, it makes the appeals system feel pointless.
Parking management should exist to prevent misuse of spaces, not to penalise genuine visitors who can prove they were using the facility correctly.
I would strongly advise anyone visiting this location to be extremely cautious and ensure their vehicle is registered, as it appears that even genuine customers with evidence may still be pursued for payment.
I would welcome the company reviewing this case again in light of the evidence already provided.

We are talking about one of the most despicable company's in the UK, they are corrupt and do not listen to reason. 7 attempts to pay for my parking over the phone talking to a robot and not a human being. I could not pay at their prehistoric payment meter as it is cash only and no means of paying by card. They need to wake up to the fact that we live in the 21 century and they may be cave men but we are not and most people don't carry cash anymore.

Absolute scammers! If I had not contacted the retailer on this they would have hounded us for a fine!!! Car Park had 20 mins free parking which the ticket showed correctly on time however this lot failed to check this out!!!! BEWARE and fight your corner

These people are parasitic worms, parked my car went to get a ticket from the machine, by the time I returned to my car I caught them ticketing my vehice, appealed with my ticket but I was also in the wrong bay with no permit, no sign postage, I got my ticket in Wilmslow from Spring Street Car Park. AVOID AVOID AVOID!
Can't complain
I parked at Stoke Station and the machine was broken so couldn't pay for my 10 minute stay. Of course I received a fine a month later, showing images of my entrance and exit. I appealed and 28 days later received an email cancelling the fine, after reading all the reviews on here really thought I was going to have a battle with them!

My Wife visited a smart parking car park in Heybridge Essex, November 2025, to find the parking meters not working, fast forward early December we receive a car parking fine for £60.00, we appeal against this straight away, and quickly receive an acknowledgement from smart parking.
Moving on a few weeks and we receive a letter stating £155.00 in now due, as we failed to pay the £60.00 original amount. Worried about this and with no way to pay the original amount we sent a cheque to smart parking for the original £60.00 ( this was cashed Jan 2026)
Now the funny part, we've now received an email saying they are looking at the original appeal, and have received a second email to say the fine was paid, with no indication whatsoever as to if the appeal was successful
Smart Parking are an absolute disgrace!

I paid for my parking in full
I paid for my parking in full, but made a minor one-letter mistake in the vehicle registration. Despite providing proof of payment, Smart Parking refused to cancel the charge and claimed I was 11 minutes late.
There was no intention to avoid payment — the parking was paid. Penalising customers for a small human error is unfair and feels purely profit-driven. Very disappointing experience and poor customer service. I would not recommend Smart Parking.

So needs a zero star for this company, received a parking fine before Christmas that was invalid, emailed them & guess what it was cancelled - received ANOTHER one a few weeks back so again emailed them & AGAIN cancelled as neither of them were valid, I have taken this up with the IPO as this company cannot keep getting away with this fraud - IF YOU GET A PARKING TICKET FROM THIS COMPANY ENSURE YOU CHECK, DOUBLE, TREBLE CHECK IT AS CHANCES ARE YOU ARENT LIABALE FOR IT

Can’t give minus or no stars received demand for £100 fine for none purchase of ticket after appealing sending phots of bank statement showing money going out still not satisfied they say I made an error whilst putting in the vrm as if do I appeal again and lose the reduction in fine or just pay it?? I booked parking from 11am and when I arrived at 4pm I was told I should have arrived at 11am. If I still wanted parking I had to pay £150 (and that was a discount from £200!). I drove off and parked at the airport for £112.
A completely predatory operation
A completely predatory operation. We received a £60 parking charge for a 12-minute stop, in a car park with inadequate signage. Over the following year, this escalated into a barrage of threatening letters to my elderly mum and inflated charges, reaching £170. Absolutely disgusting company. Practices like this erode public trust and should be far more tightly regulated.

Received a parking fine despite the payment app being out of order. Appeal refused despite providing a date marked screenshot of the payment app erroring. Since received two debt collection letters threatening court action. I have been emailing Smart Parking, again providing proof that I could not physically pay, and received no response from Smart Parking, just another debt collection letter! What should have been a £1.20 car park charge, is now a £170 fine! Ridiculous.
